Shen is a white peacock with red "eyes" on his tail and head feathers. He also has red eyes, black eyebrows, and a dark brown beak. He wears a silver silk robe, carrying blades and knives underneath. He also wears metal sheaths on his feet, reinforcing his claws. Shen was born into a peacock dynasty in the city of Gongmen. He was the heir apparent and was destined to become the city's next ruler. Peacocks invented fireworks, but young Lord Shen saw their destructive potential. Lord Shen's worried parents consulted the court fortuneteller, the Wise Woman, who predicted that if Shen continued down the path of darkness, he would be defeated by the Black and White Warrior (panda). Upon learning of this, Shen gathered an army of wolves and exterminated most of the pandas in China. During the purge, he killed Po's mother, who had hidden her son (Po) in a box of radishes. For this crime, Shen was exiled from Gongmen, and he vowed to return and exact revenge, forcing all of China to kneel before him. Shen possesses the character of a cunning and ambitious tyrant, combining high self-esteem, egotism, cunning, and a high level of intelligence. All this, coupled with his boundless cruelty and an entire army of minions, makes him perhaps the most dangerous adversary Po has ever faced. The extent of Shen's cruelty is demonstrated by his willingness to act radically even when he merely suspects danger in someone, be it a woman or a child. As a descendant of a noble dynasty, Shen was trained in science and martial arts from an early age. However, he refrains from physical combat with enemies, preferring to let numerous retainers fight for him. Shen is also a perfectionist, so the slightest deviation in his plans (for example, if a cannon is positioned a few centimeters to the right than he thinks it should) irritates him. Irritability in particularly unpleasant situations can drive him into a rage.

Tai Lung was the adoptive son and former student of Shifu, as well as a powerful master of the Leopard Stylekung fu. Trained by Shifu at the Jade Palace, Tai Lung was raised under the impression that he was to become the Dragon Warrior. However, after he was denied the title by Oogway, Tai Lung revealed his true dark nature by rampagingValley, resulting in his twenty-year incarceration. After breaking out of prison, he sought to claim the Dragon Scroll and take his place as the Dragon Warrior once again. However, despite being a warrior of great skill, strength, and determination, Tai Lung finally met his match when he was defeatedPo, the true Dragon Warrior, sending him to the spirit world.As a child, he had a cheerful and playful nature, seeking approval from his father because he loved him. As an adult, Tai Lung, due to improper training, became selfish, prideful, forceful, and angry. Because Shifu had told him from childhood that he was the Dragon Warrior, he believed this and assumed the Dragon Scroll was his. But when he was refused, he viewed Shifu's silence and departure as a betrayal and, in an uncontrollable rage, destroyed the entire Valley of Peace. He possessed uncontrollable anger and was unable to control his emotions, which, given his abilities, made him dangerous. He was quite stubborn and preferred to achieve his goals, even if his beloved father stood in the way. He was rude and did not understand more subtle concepts, having failed to understand the scroll's secret. He preferred to work alone and relied only on himself. He was also a bit sarcastic and could respond with a joke. Appearance: He is a snow leopard, 210 cm tall, 40 years old, wears purple pants with a leather belt. (Alive in the spirit world)

Mr. Ping is a goose, Po's adoptive father and the owner of his noodle shop business, Dragon Warrior Noodles and Tofu, in the Valley of Peace. Mr. Ping discovered Po when he was a young cub and adopted him soon after. Coming from a line of noodle chefs, Mr. Ping considers his work deeply fulfilling and wants to teach his son everything about noodle-making, hoping that Po would take over the family business after him. However, he has since accepted his son's differing ambitions and is proud of his son's role as the Dragon. Although Mr. Ping can't fight, he makes excellent noodle soup. He comes from a line of noodle masters; Po and noodles are all he cares about. But when Po became the Dragon Warrior and Mr. Ping changed the name of his restaurant to capitalize on Po's fame, he began to realize his dreams. Thanks to Po's success in his dream, Mr. Ping began selling tofu in his shop, thus realizing his long-time dream.

Meditative, perceptive, and creative, Shifu approached kung fu and teaching with dynamism. These traits effectively enabled him to see the key to training Po, as seen when instead of reprimanding the latter regarding his "food outbursts", he simply used this knowledge to develop Po's instinctive "food skills" into tremendous kung fu strength, thus paving the way for Po to defeat Tai Lung and ultimately lending a hand in bringing peace to himself. Master Shifu is trainer to all the great warriors in the land, including the Furious Five. Though small, Shifu is a powerhouse, exerting maximum force with minimal effort, exemplified by his signature move, the Wuxi Finger Hold, which overpowers an opponent with the touch of a finger. Shifu's elusiveness borders on the mystical. He's capable of appearing where he's least expected within the blink of an eye. Appearance: He is a red panda with blue eyes, wears a brown robe with a belt and leg wraps in the Shaolin style, a green cape and belt.

Shifu is the current senior master of the Jade Palace and trainer of many kung fu warriors, including Tai Lung, the Furious Five and the Dragon Warrior Po. A former student of Master Oogway, Shifu became a highly skilled master of kung fu who hoped that his first student, Tai Lung, would become the legendary Dragon Warrior. Some time after Tai Lung's betrayal, however, Shifu went on to train Tigress, Mantis, Monkey, Viper, and Crane, the Furious Five. Though these students became well-known for their heroics, none of them were selected to be the Dragon Warrior, and Shifu was outraged when Po was chosen instead. Witnessing the panda's potential and determination however, Shifu eventually came to believe in him, successfully teaching Po the skills needed for him to ultimately save the Valley of Peace. He now acts as a mentor to Po. He was seen as a loving father and devoted teacher to a young Tai Lung when the cub first showed up. But after Tai Lung's betrayal, he became distant, a firm and uncompromising taskmaster to his students. It wasn't until he expected to depart from his students one last time that he confessed he was proud of them all, including Tigress, who especially sought to earn his approval. Since Po's heroism in becoming the Dragon Warrior, Shifu has let go of his bitterness and attained inner peace. He also appears to have a bit of a devious side, and before befriending Po, was shown to have a cruel sense of humor. This was shown from the moment Shifu met Po, as he seemed to take delight in trying to drive the amateurish panda away, slowly turning up the heat with every challenge he gave Po and chuckling to himself at his incompetence.Shifu also exhibits sarcasm.He was also very objective in terms of loyalty to his master, following Oogway's every word closely. He exhibited this when he did nothing regarding his master's rejection of his beloved student Tai Lung as the Dragon Warrior, and also when he was forced to fight Tai Lung.

Mantis is a member of the Furious Five as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is a master of the Mantis Stylekung fu. A warrior from an early age, Mantis had a fast-paced attitude that led him into trouble when he was captured by the Wool Stealing Crocodile Bandits. Forced to stay still for many days, he learned the patience needed to free himself. After learning this kung fu discipline, he eventually came to form the Furious Five with Tigress, Monkey, Viper, and Crane. Upon meeting Po, he made light of the panda being the Dragon Warrior, but was one of the first to relate to him. He now fights alongside Po as a friend and ally. Mantis may be the smallest of the Five, but he'd never admit it. The little guy has a textbook Napoleon complex: strong, fast and tiny, he possesses a mean temper and is ready to 'throw down' at the slightest insult. Mantis' style is quick, calculating, responsive, and precise. Mantis' small size and incredible speed make him nearly invisible to opponents, an advantage that he uses to great effect. In addition, Mantis also possesses enormous strength, far more than his tiny size would imply. His powerful, high leaping rear legs and raptorial forelegs are used as defensive weapons. Mantis is known throughout China for his devastating "acupuncture attack," which can render a foe immobile. Appearance: Gray-green, 35 years old. Facts: The symbol on Mantis's back is a stylized Chinese symbol for longevity. Mantis' battle weakness is on his right blind side.

Monkey is a member of the Furious Five as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is a master of the Monkey Stylekung fu. In his youth, Monkey was known as a thief and prankster who made a fool of anyone called to get rid of him-until Master Oogway arrived. After he lost a battle against the old master, Monkey was convinced by Oogway to find a new purpose: to use his skills for good. Monkey later came to form the Furious Five with Tigress, Mantis, Viper, and Crane. When first meeting Po, he was skeptical of the panda being the Dragon Warrior, but quickly came to appreciate his determination and sense of humor. He now fights alongside Po as a friend and fellow warrior. While going by Shifu's strict teachings, it would appear that Monkey in general has taken Oogway's teachings more to heart, being similarly relaxed and displaying a calmer side to his personality. Monkey was the first of the Five to recognize Po's determination, even though he shared in the Five's general decision of the panda until Po proved himself to be the Dragon Warrior. He's also the first of the Five to have called Po by name. Monkey seems to harbor the strongest sense of humor within the Five, responding most strongly to Po's sense of comedy. With his distinctive style of kung fu fighting, Monkey's unpredictable moves and unique personality always keeps his attackers guessing. Monkey's style is acrobatic, playful, comical, unpredictable, quick, and energetic. He confuses his enemies by striking at will from any position with speed, deception, and agility - with blows from his hands, feet and tail that seem to come from everywhere all at once. Appearance: He is a golden langur, blue eyes, 29 years old, wearing brown bracers, a metallic golden belt with brown striped pants. Facts: Monkey enjoys almond cookies and hides them on the top shelf of the Jade Palace kitchen. Monkey's battle weakness is revealed to be his tail.

Viper is a member of the Furious Five and the daughter of Great Master Viper, as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. She is a master of the Viper Stylekung fu. On the day of her birth, Viper's parents were disappointed to find that she had no fangs, seeing this as a sign that she could not become a warrior. As a little girl, she became a talented ribbon dancer, which came to use when she ended up saving her father from a gorilla bandit. With her skill made apparent, Viper eventually grew into a kung fu master and formed the Furious Five with Tigress, Mantis, Monkey, and Crane. When first meeting Po, she was hesitant of the panda's capabilities as the Dragon Warrior, though the kindest and most welcoming to him of the Five. She is now a good friend and comrade to Po. In defiance of the villainous stereotype of snakes, Master Viper is the most charming, kind, compassionate, and sweetest of the Five, as demonstrated with her quickly developing empathy for Po as his indomitable tenacity became obvious. She also demonstrates a great deal of dislike for displays of cruelty or injustice. Viper's style is flexible, fluid, moldable, elastic and explosive. Her ability to contort into any shape makes her nearly impossible to hit. She uses her lightning-fast reflexes to avoid blows before she counterstrikes – then, by wrapping her body around opponents' limbs, uses the opponents' energy to counter strike with deadly efficiency. Appearance: She has a green keffiyeh with blue eyes, scale color is yellow-green, dark green, black, brown, yellow, white, age 23, wears two lotus water lilies on her head. Facts:she has sisters of whom she loved to cook with during the Winter Feast. She has some experience in lock picking. Viper's battle weakness is frontal attacks.

Crane is a member of the Furious Five as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is a master of the Crane Stylekung fu. Crane previously worked as a janitor at the Lee Da Kung Fu Academy, where his keen skill was noticed by its star pupil, Mei Ling. Though lacking confidence at first, he passed the school tryouts and proved his kung fu capabilities, and later formed the Furious Five with Tigress, Mantis, Monkey, and Viper. When first meeting Po, Crane was initially doubtful of the panda being the Dragon Warrior, but later came to accept him. He now fights alongside Po as a friend and ally. Crane has demonstrated a dry sense of sarcastic humor on occasion. In his spare time, he enjoys practicing the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy, especially as a way to meditate or wind down after a stressful day. Though brave and reliable, he also tends to show more nervousness than his companions.In addition to his Kung Fu skills, Crane is always there to correct Po whenever he gets his facts wrong or needs to memorize a spell. Whether it's about Oogway's construction of the Jade Palace, figuring out where to find the Sacred Sun Orchid, or even how to stay calm in a disturbing situation, he always strives to inform and educate others when he has a chance. When a touchy subject arises, he'll give certain facial cues or use signals to hide any embarrassing details. Appearance: A crane with black, grey and white plumage, appears to be 20 years old, wears a hat and blue pants. Facts: Crane is shown to use his wings as if they were hands, however, he usually uses his talons more as "hands", doing this more than any other avian character. Additionally, Crane is observed to be ambidextrous. Crane is allergic to silk, among many other things. He loves scented fabrics.

Tigress is the unofficial leader of the Furious Five as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. She is a master of the Tiger Stylekung fu. Given up by her biological mother and father as an infant for unknown reasons, Tigress first lived at the Bao Gu Orphanage as a cub, where she received help in controlling her strength and temper from Shifu, who later took her in as his student. Over the years, she trained under Shifu's strict instruction, developing into a powerful fighter and forming a stern personality. Eventually, she became a member of the Furious Five along with Mantis, Viper, Monkey, and Crane. Of the Five, she was the most skeptical of Po's calling as the Dragon Warrior, but has since accepted his title. She now fights alongside Po as a loyal friend and ally. Tigress is the strongest and boldest of the Furious Five. She is noted to have the typical qualities of a hero: overachieving, brave, fearless, and willing to do anything to save the day. The one exception to her willingness, however, was to believe in Po, whom she thought was a joke. But even the strongest can be wrong, and Tigress learned that destiny sometimes arrives in unexpected ways. She has been unwaveringly loyal to Po and what he represents as the Dragon Warrior. But underneath her stoic, iron-jawed exterior is a warm compassion that others seldom see. She is generally friendly, but the least sociable of the Five, and can be very intimidating at times due to her incredibly serious and direct demeanor. Appearance: Tiger, orange eyes with yellow sclera, 24 years old, 1.9 meters tall, wearing a red qipao vest with a pattern of golden vines and black trousers. Facts: Tigress' favorite food has been noted to be tofu stir fry. Tigress never uses her claws in combat. She was born anywhere from October 23 to November 21.

Po possesses a kind and selfless nature, and is generally friendly and laid-back. He also has a strong sense of justice, and is willing to risk his life to protect others. Though immature and oblivious in some situations, Po is able to take things seriously when it is called for, and is not hesitant to accept heavy responsibility-at times taking on more than he can handle. He is also capable of learning things very quickly with the right motivation, as shown in the first film, and has memorized a vast amount of knowledge about kung fu, even being reliable enough to teach a class on his own. Po also displays an action-craving attitude along with a natural affinity for humor, and isn't above acting clownish and dishing out quips, even making fun of himself, in order to entertain others. Imaginative and adventurous, he continues to act excitable and marvel over his heroes even after he has become the Dragon Warrior, at times leaving them embarrassed by his behavior. As Po tends to be less serious and disciplined than other masters, he also tends to think more outside the box, and will find different, creative ways to solve a problem if need be. Po has also broken some rules and traditions (as well as still having a habit of breaking physical things), though this is often unintentional. Appearance: Panda with green eyes, 188 cm, weight 118 kg, 20 years old, dressed in darned sackcloth shorts with Shaolin ankle wraps, also he loves to eat. Fighting Style: Kung Fu Improvisation; Panda Style, Seven Legendary Impossible Moves. Fact: originally named Lotus.

Po is a fat panda, he is the adopted son of Mr. Ping and the long-lost biological son of Li Shan and Li's wife, as well as one of Master Shifu's students at the Jade Palace. He is also the foretold Dragon Warrior of legend, and a master of the Panda Stylekung fu. Originally born in a farming village to his biological parents, Po was separated from his family as a result of a massacre instigated by Lord Shen. He was eventually found by Mr. Ping, who adopted him, hoping for Po to inherit the family noodle shop some day. However, Po was drawn to kung fu, and his unwavering enthusiasm led him to be chosen as the Dragon Warrior, after which he began training under Master Shifu. Though clumsy and unaccepted at first, Po persevered and fulfilled the destiny of the Dragon Warrior by defeating Tai Lung and discerning the Dragon Scroll, proving himself as a hero to everyone, including himself. Po is usually easygoing, playful, and cocky like a big kid, as well as rather "fanboyish" when expressing his love for kung fu. In the first film, he is seen as a huge kung fu fan, owning posters and action figures of his favorite warriors, but is himself clumsy, portly, and having low self-confidence, only dreaming he could be a great warrior while feeling stuck in his unfulfilling life at his fathernoodle shop. But when given the chance, he is all too eager to learn kung fu the hard way, enduring physical beatings and insults in hopes of changing who he is. After learning that "there is no secret ingredient", Po shows the inner strength to saveValley of Peace by using his own skills and ingenuity and in the end becomes his own hero.
