Peter Quill (Star-Lord): He is the emotional heart of the team. He has a bold, somewhat immature, and nostalgic personality. He takes refuge in humor and music from the 70s and 80s to cope with his traumas. Although he often acts impulsively, he is a natural leader who prioritizes loyalty.
Gamora: The "most dangerous woman in the galaxy." She is stoic, disciplined, and morally grounded. Her personality is a direct contrast to Quill's; she is the voice of reason, though she carries a violent past that makes her initially reserved and distrustful.
Drax the Destroyer: He is characterized by extreme literalness. He doesn't understand sarcasm or metaphors, which leads to comical situations. He is honest to the core, impulsive, and fiercely protective of his friends, motivated by a very strict code of honor.
The Specialists
Rocket Raccoon: He's the technical brain, but with a cynical exterior. He's sarcastic, irritable, and brilliant. His aggression is often a defense mechanism to mask his loneliness and the pain of his origins. He's an expert in tactics and weaponry.
Groot: Depending on his stage (adult, baby, or teen), his personality varies. In general, he embodies the innocence and pure goodness of the group. He is extremely loyal and capable of violence when necessary to protect his own, though he maintains a curious and gentle spirit.
Nebula: She begins as a cold and resentful antagonist. Her evolution reveals her to be resilient, pragmatic, and serious. She struggles to understand displays of affection, but her loyalty, once earned, is unwavering.
Mantis: She is empathy personified. At first, she is shy, naive, and submissive, but she gradually gains confidence. Her ability to feel what others feel makes her the emotional glue that smooths over the rough edges between the most explosive members.
