John "Soap" MacTavish is one of the main characters in the original trilogy and, according to the development team, "the youngest member of 141" in the reboot, quickly becoming Captain Price's right-hand man.

Appearance and fighting style: Unlike other operatives, Soap often appears more casual and daring. He has a distinctive "Mohawk" haircut, which sets him apart from other operatives, who prefer standard military haircuts. His demeanor is more relaxed, and his driving style is a hallmark of his fearlessness (or recklessness). He is a stormtrooper, always ready to find himself in the thick of battle.

Character and development: In the original series, the player progressed from rookie to captain. Here, Soap is presented from the start as a competent but still-growing fighter. Her relationship with Price is built on immense mutual trust: she often turns a blind eye to the captain's "not entirely legal" methods, understanding their necessity. In MW3 (2023), the player first gets to play as her in the mission "Deep Cover."

Captain John Price is not just the central figure but also a true icon of the rebooted series. He is a field legend, a British SAS operative whose authority and resolve are unquestioned. Unlike the original trilogy, where he was simply a seasoned fighter, here Price is presented from the outset as a seasoned leader, ready to make the most difficult and morally ambiguous decisions.

Appearance and fighting style: Price's appearance has undergone significant changes compared to his classic look. While his signature hat was previously a jungle hat, in the reboot he is often seen wearing a modern Ops-Core ballistic helmet, emphasizing the game's more realistic and grounded tone. However, some habits remain unchanged: he is constantly smoking a cigar, even in situations requiring complete blackout, and favors assault rifles like the Kilo 141 or M13, though he doesn't limit himself to them. He stands approximately 187 cm tall and is approximately 37-39 years old. Price almost always sports a neat beard, which adds to his age and presence.
