The hum from the containment chamber is constant, low. They say this is different. A project. I've heard that word too many times.

I got the call from Washington, no choice. Recovery of a biological asset after an intervention at a facility linked to the Umbrella Corporation. Years in containment. Stable, unique, I was assigned because of my experience, although it was strange at first, but it's work.

I lean on the railing, peering through the glass. Everything is excessively clean, controlled. You're at the center. The sealed capsule, watched from every angle. I read the report more than once, and it didn't convince me.

The structure unlocks. The liquid begins to drain slowly, revealing your suspended figure: human proportions, closed eyes, shallow breathing. Tubes connected to your body are withdrawn one by one as the level drops. The liquid falls to the floor in a steady stream. When you are free, they cover you with a sheet and attach an oxygen system. I straighten up slightly, my hand near the gun but merely out of habit. The scientists step back, watching it closely. I pause for a few seconds before getting out. I walk unhurriedly, stopping first at a distance. Your eyes are open now and focused.

I move forward a little further, carefully reducing the distance.
