Maze 256

In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, the original Maze (named Maze 256, referencing the aforementioned Map 256 Glitch) is an important location in the series. At the center of this giant hedge maze is the gateway into the Netherworld from which ghosts go in and out. Pac usually chases down ghosts into the maze and finishes them off there, and other times he travels to the center of the maze to enter the Netherworld whenever the situation warrants it.

President Spheros

Stratos Spheros is the benevolent president of Pac-World in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.
History
Spheros was always treated better by his mother and somehow had his government agents despite not being a president yet[1].Years ago, Spheros' little brother Betrayus formed a powerful army and threatened to take over Pac-World and stomp out any resistance that stood in his way. This would lead to many casualties (such as the massacre of the Yellow Ones), but eventually Zac, Sunny, Sir Cumference, Spheros and the Resistance were able to defeat Betrayus' forces. He was also coach/referee in the episode called Pac-Pong Fever in Spheria's flashback. Spheros was then forced to strip his brother and his army of their physical bodies and banish their spirits to the Netherworld for their evil crimes against Pac-Manity. Spheros has then acted as Pac-World's president ever since and has maintained a vigilant guard over the Repository containing Betrayus and the evil army's bodies.

Betrayus

Lord Betrayus (ビトレイアス Bitoreiasu), (Full name: Betrayus Sneakerus Spheros) is the supreme ruler of the Netherworld and of all Ghosts and Monsters and is the main antagonist of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. His primary goal is to steal the Power Berries, defeat Pac and take over Pac-World and rule it with an iron fist.
He is a white and black ghost with sharp teeth, red eyes, a ghostly mustache, a ghostly beard, spiky ghostly hair and a red glow surrounding his entire body and the inside of his ghostly tail. He also dresses in a gothic manner, with three black belt straps on his chest. When he was alive, he greatly resembled his brother President Spheros, although with a more oval body shape, white skin and he still had the same red eyes he has as a ghost. As ghosts do not have hands, he uses a pair of mechanical claws as prosthetics.

Personality
Aside from being evil, incompetent, and power-hungry, Betrayus is very egotistical and selfish, always ready to take full credit for all of his evil plans, always ready to call himself the best at something, and always ready to claim something for himself. He has no tolerance for failure from his minions and generally mistreats them, most notably Butt-ler. Betrayus is also very cowardly, letting others do the dirty work for him. He is additionally very childish, as he tends to throw tantrums whenever things don't go his way, has tendency to blame others, and is unable to sleep without his stuffed toy[1]. His greedy desires give him an insatiable lust for power and will do just about anything to get his way and become stronger.

During his time as leader of his army when he was alive, he was a childish, but still strict, and competent leader who inspired genuine fear and loyalty in his troops and led successful attacks on the Resistance, although he would still become somewhat cowardly when he was outmatched or throw temper tantrums as a result.

Clyde

Clyde (クライド Kuraido), also known as Guzuta in Japanese and nicknamed Pokey, is one of the four main ghosts in the Pac-Man series. While the other three ghosts are off chasing Pac-Man, Clyde will be off doing his own thing. He is typically portrayed as the least intelligent and most submissive ghost. He is good friends with Blinky, Pinky, and Inky.
Clyde made an appearance in the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures TV series. Rather than an enemy of Pac, he (along with Blinky, Pinky and Inky) act as Pac's allies and is the oldest of the ghosts.

Clyde, much like the original games, is shown as seemingly being less intelligent than his associates. He is shown to be a rather sensitive soul in nature, and even sometimes claims to be a pacifist. Despite apparently being the dumb one of the group, he occasionally hints that he is more intelligent than he lets on, generally by being more verbose than the others. Whenever he gets too emotional or upset, he has a habit of splitting himself apart.
Appearance
Clyde is an orange-colored ghost. He has a somewhat dopey-looking expression. He is typically limbless within games, but some incarnations show him with arms, sometimes with red gloves as well.
Personality
In the Ghostly Adventures, Clyde is shown to be the sensitive ghost with a big heart, usually reluctant to do any harm to Pac and cries to the point of splitting apart when he gets too upset.

Inky

Inky (インキー Inki), also known as Aosuke in Japanese and nicknamed Bashful, is one of the four main ghosts in the Pac-Man series. He is often depicted as a goofy and slow-headed ghost, not pursuing Pac-Man unless other ghosts are near. He is good friends with Blinky, Pinky, and Clyde.
Inky made an appearance in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. Rather than an enemy of Pac, he (along with Blinky, Pinky and Clyde) act as Pac's allies. He seems to be the most sarcastic of the group, and may be the most intelligent member. Blinky seems to have a sort of rivalry with him as well.
Appearance
Inky is a cyan colored ghost. (Though in some games or shows he can be a light shade of blue) He has big eyes, and often has a happy/excited expression. He is typically limbless within games, but some incarnations show him with arms, sometimes with gloves as well (either orange or teal-colored).
In Pac-Man Party, Ghostly Adventures and Pac-Man Monsters, Inky has little to no resemblance to his original design; he is very skinny, and has twirly strand of hair. He is also a darker shade of blue in Ghostly Adventures.
Personality
In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Inky is mischievous and immature as well as goofy. He often quarrels with his siblings and is reluctant to help Pac sometimes. He is portrayed as being the smartest of the four ghosts, as well as being the most argumentative and sarcastic of them.

Pinky

Pinky (ピンキー Pinkii), also known by the nickname Speedy, is one of the four main ghosts in the Pac-Man series. She is represented as the only female ghost and likes to be pretty. She attempts to ambush Pac-Man by moving parallel to him. In certain continuities, Pinky has been shown to have a crush on Pac-Man, which normally goes unreciprocated. She is good friends with Blinky, Inky, and Clyde.
Pinky appears in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, using the same base design from Pac-Man Party, but with a deeper shade of pink, and with arms like the mainline design, though much like the other ghosts, they are stubby without gloves. Rather than an enemy of Pac, she (along with Blinky, Inky and Clyde) act as Pac's allies. In the series, just like in Pac-Man World 2, she has an intense romantic interest for Pac, which she develops during the series' pilot epiode, but cranked up to 11; she even got to kiss Pac on one occasion. She is rather hotheaded and easy to anger, particularly towards Cylindria, whom she sees as a rival for Pac's affection.
Appearance
Pinky is a pink-colored ghost. She has big eyes, but her slanted eyelids and eyelashes partially obscure them. She is typically limbless within games, but some incarnations show her with arms, sometimes with gloves as well (either orange or purple-colored). She is sometimes seen wearing makeup.
In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Pinky is a magenta-colored ghost.
Personality
Pinky is quite feminine and calm, but is just as mischievous as the rest of the Ghost Gang, and won't hesitate to stop Pac-Man if he tries to stop their antics. When chasing Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man in the maze, her strategy is to ambush them rather than chase them. Even though she is not as fast as Blinky.
In Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, Pinky is shown to have a crush on Pac-Man. As with the other members of the original Ghost Gang, she is now an ally and friend of Pac-Man rather than an enemy

Blinky

Gender Male
Blinky appeared in the television series Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. Rather than being Pac-Man's enemy, he (along with Pinky, Inky, and Clyde) serves as his ally. As in some other works, Blinky appears to be the leader of the Ghost gang. He is depicted as a rival of Inky. He is the oldest of the Ghosts. Blinky was once a master of Pac-Fu before losing his body, and was even more skilled than the legendary Master Goo.
Appearance
Blinky is a red-colored ghost. He has big eyes, and often has an angry expression. He is typically limbless within games, but some incarnations show him with arms, sometimes with orange gloves as well.

In the TV series and Pac-Land, Blinky wears a wide-brimmed hat, and has a somewhat cowardly and afraid expression rather than being angry. In Pac-Man Party and Ghostly Adventures, he has a protrusion to the top of his head (which he calls his "hairdo") and blue eyes; his arms are also stubbier.
Personality
Blinky is the most determined of the ghosts, and the leader of the Ghost Gang. He is often depicted as the most intelligent and most conceited of the quartet. He is also the most aggressive ghost

The Ghosts

The Ghosts (also known as Monsters or Ghost Monsters) are a recurring race of species and are the main enemies of the Pac-People, all of Pac-Land and Pac-Man's worlds. Ghosts tend to generally be mischievous, mostly terrorizing, haunting, attacking, or creating mischief for the people they encounter.
Characteristics
In the Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures animated series and games, the Ghosts are portrayed as spectral ectoplasmic entities with the common ghostly traits of being semi-intangible, being able to levitate, and can leave trails of ectoplasm on living beings. They also do not appear to have a very good diet, with much of their "food" appearing to be made up mostly of inedible and gross muck like garbage, worms, body parts, and other unidentifiable substances and slimy goo. Due to being spiritual entities without organs, however, these substances do no permanently harm them. With proper seasoning, their food can be made edible to Pac-Worlders. The existence of things such as sewers and sewage implies they still need to expel bodily waste products like Pac-Worlders.

It appears that the majority of ghosts are former Pac-Worlders, but usually bare no resemblance to their living selves, and apparently they come in a wide variety of colors and types apart from the usual standard ghostly appearance, with some appearing gigantic, cycloptic, octopus-like, etc, and it appears that they may be able to freely change between these forms depending on their moods and personalities, a likely benefit of no longer being restricted by physical forms. However, ghostly animals appear to still somewhat resemble their living animal forms, unlike Ghostly Pac-Worlders.

They mainly attack Pac-People by biting them (despite many having no visible teeth in earlier media), covering them in slime, or eating them alive (according to the Atari 2600 manual of Pac-Man).

Spiral

Gender: Male
Spiral (スパイラル Supairaru) is one of the three main protagonists of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. He is a red oval-shaped Pac-Worlder with blue hair.
In the Ghostly Adventures animated series, Spiral is close friends with Pac and Cylindria; the three often team up together to defeat the Ghosts.

Spiral and Pac-Man are roommates; generally, Spiral plays the role of the straight man to Pac. He always stands up for Pac when he is bullied by Skeebo; with Spiral being one of few characters that Skeebo is actually intimidated by.

Cylindria

Gender: Female.
Cylindria (シリンドリア Shirindoria), also known under the nickname Cyli, is one of the three main protagonists of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. She is a young pink Pac-Girl with glasses and two pigtails.
Cylindria is a close friend of Puck and Spiral; they often team up to defeat ghosts.

Cylindria was originally Skibo's girlfriend. However, they broke up after Skibo refused to save Cylindria from a monster from the Underworld.

Cylindria has a crush on Puck; she said "I love you, Puck!" at the same time as Pinkie. However, this could have been platonic or a minor plot point, as it was never mentioned again. Apparently, because of this, Pinkie often perceives Cylindria as a "rival" for Puck's affections.
Personality
Cylindria is shown to be kind and intelligent. She seems to be the most responsible out of her friends; for instance, she was willing to keep Pac from eating stolen food by warning the President in "All You Can Eat". She's also been known to point out oversights and the first to notice when a situation seems suspicious.

Appearance
Cylindria is a pink Pac-Worlder with pink eyes. Her hair is black with light pink highlights, which she always has up in pigtails with red bands. Two locks of her hair frame her left eye. She wears red glasses, red and white striped socks, black fingerless gloves and black boots with silver buckles.

Pacster

Gender: Male
Pacster (パクスター Pakusutā) (real name Pac) is the titular protagonist of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures, and the alternate version of Pac-Man that appears within the universe. He is nicknamed "Pacster" by his friends, and became known as "Pac-Man" after he became a hero. He is close friends with Cylindria and Spiral.
Pac is the main protagonist of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures and its other media. He is an orphaned yellow teenage Pac-Worlder who goes through his daily life and fights various ghosts with his friends Cylindria and Spiral. His main goal is to find his parents Zac and Sunny.
Personality
Pac is friendly, clever, kind and resourceful and always wants to help his friends and the residents of Pac-World. His greatest weakness is his uncontrollable appetite, leading to a lack of willpower in the subject. He truly values those close to him, especially finding his missing parents. However, it is shown that he can get carried away in trying to find his parents, and sometimes gets lost in it. His want to find his parents has also been an emotional weakness, subjecting him to manipulation on different occasions. This is displayed in Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2 and the TV series episode, Happy Holidays and a Merry Berry Day, where he is tricked by his enemies with the belief of getting his parents back, displaying subtle naivety and desperation. However, he is persistent and determined. He realizes when he makes mistakes, and does his best to try and fix them.

It is up to speculation that Pac may show signs of repression, often times displaying sadness when reflecting on his parents or orphanhood, before recovering unusually quickly with enthusiasm.

Pac-People

Pac-People (also known as Pac-Worlders) are the dominant race of Pac-Land, and appear in every entry of the Pac-Man series. The most recognizable Pac-Person is Pac-Man. The Pac-People are enemies of ghosts.
Biology
All Pac-People posses a generally spherical body shape with four limbs, a nose, mouths and eyes. They are sometimes shown limbless - some games show this as being a curse set by Ghosts, while others feature it as a state Pac-People can change to at will. Some rough variants in bodily shape occur where they're more ovoid than perfectly spherical.

In the most games, Pac-People are primarily yellow in color; other, later media show them as coming in a wider variety of colors such as possessing stripes. Pac-People have big, black eyes in the shape of a limbless Pac-Man. Most Pac-People are always seen wearing gloves.

Pac-People are shown to be delivered by stork. They are omnivores, having a very diverse diet ranging from fruits and meats to ghostly ectoplasm as well, however their most notable food item are Pac-Dots, Power Pellets and in the case of Ghostly Adventures, Power Berries which they harvest. Judging from the fact sewers and sewage exist, Pac-People need to expel waste products. The need to expel gases via belching and flatulence has also been demonstrated.

It is presumed that Pac-People descended from Neander-Pacs, but this has yet to be officially verified (although it is heavily implied). In the Egyptian Times from Pac-Man: Adventures in Time, Egyptian Pac-People are shown drawn on the walls, showing that they were intelligent beings since the ancient times.

Predators
Pac-People are constantly terrorized by ghosts. Ghosts are always attacking Pac-People, the original Pac-Man game being a prime example of such. However, Pac-People have a powerful defense against ghosts when they eat a Power Pellet, sometimes referred to as a "Power Berries". This item grants them the ability to eat ghosts, thus sending them back into the Regeneration Chamber.

Pacopolis

Pacopolis is the capital city on the planet Pac-World.
It is comprised of various futuristic buildings, with tubes and Pac-Cars being the main methods of transportation around the city. The city is like a maze (according to Pacster) as it is very large and diverse, from urban buildings to rural farmland.

Overview

In the present day, the titular Pac-Man (real name Pac, though nicknamed "Pacster" by his friends) attends Maze High School with his best friends Spiral and Cylindria. Pac is a war orphan after his parents disappeared during the Ghost Wars; he is raised by his Aunt Spheria and resides with his friends inside the Maze High School dorms. After being relentlessly chased by the school bully Skeebo for emptying the whole school cafeteria as part of an all-you-can-eat buffet, Pac hides from Skeebo by fleeing to the local maze, Maze 256; a maze just next to the school. Pac gets lost within the maze, and stumbles upon a suspicious path with warning signs. After assuming it may be a prank from Skeebo, Pac goes down the path but ends up tumbling down a forbidden tunnel, where he accidentally opens a large gate that breaks the seal between Pac-World and the Netherworld. With the seal broken, the ghosts are now able to roam free in Pac-World. Betrayus, now the leader of the Netherworld with his servants Dr. Buttocks and Butt-ler, leads the ghosts into invading and terrorizing Pac-World, not stopping until they are able to seize control of Pac-World by stealing the Tree of Life or the Repository, where the ghosts' bodies are located. Among the first ghost invasion, Pac is ambushed by Blinky, Pinky, Inky and Clyde, but are then eaten afterwards as he is a "Yellow One". Not long after, Spheros, now the president of Pac-World and associates of Pac's parents, discovers Pac's ability to fight back and scare the ghosts as a "Yellow One", also discovering he is the last of the powerful kind; fulfilling a prophecy written centuries ago that a "Yellow One" would rise to protect Pac-World. Spheros reveals the Tree of Life to Pac, a giant tree that grows special Power Berries and stabilizes the atmosphere in Pac-World. Without the tree, Pac-World would collapse into the Netherworld.
