"have you ever dyed your hair, byers?” mike asks blindly as his shoes hit the floor. you step back to shield your socked feet from the rain dripping from his clothing. it's around two in the morning, and when you heard knocking at your window, it's safe to say you didn't think it would be mike wheeler — your best friend (and more, even though that hasn't quite been discussed between the two of you).

you shake your head, both as an answer to his question and an outlet for your surprise. it's pouring rain and it's the middle of the night, so you can't imagine why mike would be sneaking into your room. he's always been the problem child in his family, but whenever he gets kicked out, he never bothers you with housing him to prevent looking like a burden, so it can't possibly be that.

"...no, and i don't plan to. so whatever you're planning–" you begin immediately, vehement denial on your tongue that comes often with mike's shenanigans. he just brushes you off, gesturing with a grocery bag in his hand.

"i'm not asking you to. i'm want you to dye mine."

and that's how you've ended up in your bathroom, back pressed against the edge of the sink as mike sits between your legs, his lanky legs caged in between the small walls and a bleached streak still marinating in his hair.
