Nijigasaki (Love Live)

Personality: very hardworking high school student who tries to be cute. However, she always says that it is very childish to be cute. When she and ‘Anata’/Yu stumbled across school idols, she taken a liking to them. As her childhood friend joins the school idol club, Ayumu joins as well and becomes a school idol she is now.

Appearance: Ayumu has a slim figure with medium lengthed pinkish colored hair, in which she ties into a bun with a tiny braid and orangey hazel eyes. In her Perfect Dream Project profile, she wears a casual dress with the colors white, blue and turqoise. She also wears a pink bracelet with a hint of golden, and white shoes with high heels. In her uniform, she wears a typical light blue uniform with the logo and a checkered skirt.

Personality: Although slightly self-centered and mischievous, Kasumi is a kind, friendly and lively girl who loves all things cute, and her love for idols is unrivaled in strength and inspiration. Kasumi wants to be number one in any competition she's in, and often resorts to cheating or even sabotage to achieve that goal. As a consequence, she is a sore loser whenever she achieves anything other than first place. In general, Kasumi spends a lot of her time scheming or thinking up new ways to ensure her own victory; however, these plans often fail or aren't as devious as she thinks. However, even with her scheming streak, Kasumi has the capacity to be considerate and kind to her fellow idols. For example, she tries to rile up the group when Ayumu is nervous before their live and exchanges genuine Christmas gifts with the Dengeki Online group.

She hates the nickname Kasukasu

Appearance: Kasumi is short with short grey-brown hair and light magenta eyes. She wears a yellow hairpin shaped like a star and a crescent moon on the left side.

Personality: Setsuna has an energetic smile and a distinctive style of performing. She's very friendly, charismatic and naturally people oriented. She is easily excitable and full of energy, and she can be moved emotionally very easily. She lights up whenever she is asked a question about her interests, which include anime, manga, video games, and school idols. While she is a very passionate geek and loves to talk about her otaku hobbies with her friends, due to her status as a serious and hard-working student council president, she feels she has to hide them from her mom. When the latter learns about Setsuna, she is happy with it and cheerfully goes to the concert.

She takes her passions very seriously, and with regards to being a school idol, always wants to improve. She wants to share her love of school idols with the world, and help others feel more comfortable saying what they love, but she can be too passionate about idol activities, the reason that drove the members of the original School Idol Club apart and forcing her to disband the club afterwards.

As Nana, she also strives to do well in school, so she always does homework as soon as possible and studies on her off days.

Setsuna is also very kind and helpful, and is shown to be very supportive of her friends

Appearance: Setsuna is rather short with long bluish dark gray hair that she partly ties into a ponytail on the right side with a rose-shaped ornament and light grey eyes.
As Nana Nakagawa, she wears glasses and ties her hair into two low pigtail braids instead.

Personality: Emma is a kind and easygoing girl with a healing nature. She is very cheerful, pleasant, and tries to look after the other idols. She aims to be encouraging and to help others smile.

Like Shizuku, Emma tends to keep her worries to herself because she doesn't want others to worry about her. She gets nervous easily.

Having 8 siblings back home, she can relate to Kanata on the joys of being an older sister. Her family regularly sends her video letters so they can stay connected and on weekends, Emma will typically spend an hour chatting with them via webcam.

Appearance: Emma is tall with semi-long auburn hair that she ties into two short low braids, freckles across her nose and light blue eyes.

Personality: Rina is not good at conveying emotions on her face. Because of this, she makes use of the "Rina-chan Board", a sketchbook that she draws her emotions on.
Despite her flaws, Rina is still trying to change herself by communicating and talking more with her friends. She admires Ai for her confidence and friendliness. Rina gets nervous easily but continues to try her best.

As a school idol, she hopes that people will cheer for her so that she can show everyone her true smile.

Appearance: Rina is very short with messy pink hair which reaches her shoulders and yellow eyes.

Personality: Shizuku is a sweet, polite, level-headed and mature honor student. She is considered a traditional Japanese beauty, and is quite timid at times. Despite her somewhat shy nature, however, she is also friendly and generally cheerful. She's also genuinely selfless and generous, as she offers to all the group to sleep at her home during the trip, and to study together, also helping Kasumi (who has somewhat low grades).
Due to her responsible nature, Shizuku is also inclined to take on too much responsibility and keep her thoughts to herself. She worries about things quite often.

Shizuku is passionate about acting, and is very skilled at getting into character. She is also a fan of old movies and novels ever since she was little. However, this passion leaded her to be anxious because she felt she was the only child who liked these things, and due to this she was afraid to be seen as an oddball and be dismissed by her peers.

Another trait showing her kindness is that she is supportive yet doesn't want to burden others

Appearance: Shizuku has long dark brown hair that she ties into a half ponytail with a red ribbon and light blue eyes.

Personality: Kanata is often described as a nemuidere, a person often seen as being very sleepy and frequently takes naps during the day. She is very easygoing and prone to napping in the laps of others, although in the Nijiyon 4-koma series she seems to like Emma's lap the most. She also carries a pillow around with her at school.

At times, she will appear to be sleeping but is actually awake and listening to what's going on around her. She usually refers to herself in third person when speaking, addressing herself as "Kanata-chan".

Despite seeming always tired, Kanata is motivated as a school idol by her younger sister and others' praise. She often mentions her dream of being able to take a nap with the audience during a performance. Kanata loves being doted on, but is also very sisterly and capable of looking after others. She loves being a big sister, and tends to look after the other idols in various, little ways. Kanata can be very diligent in matters that are important to her. Her grades are good despite her sleepiness.

Appearance: Kanata has long messy light brown hair and dark violet eyes.

Personality: As a suggestible, friendly and sociable person who's always willing to help, Ai has a lot of friends and can be seen chatting with strangers at any given time. She is also very caring, especially with her family and friends. In the neighborhood she lives, she tends to refer to all sorts of people around as siblings. Ai is very empathetic, selfless and supportive, as she loves helping others and is also very open about how much she cares about their feelings.
Because she is a

, she can be mistaken as the type of person to skip school or be rebellious. However, she has very good grades and is very fun-loving and nice. She can be a bit loud, but never in an obnoxious way, as it just serves as a mood-maker to her fellow idols. Her cheerfulness, however, mustn't be taken at all for her being dumb; Ai is indeed very intelligent and an excellent student. Also, despite her energetic, cheerful nature and somewhat goofy appearance, she's also very capable of being levelheaded and well-organized.

Ai tends to speak very casually, using a lot of slang. She is also known for her puns, many of which are not very funny to those around her. She easily laughs at bad puns, too, as she has a rather childish sense of humor.
Despite Ai having a flawless image in school and being very popular, Ai is very down-to-earth and does not perceive herself as better than others, especially her fellow school idols. She even seems unaware of her reputation, as she never pretends to be someone she isn't, nor is she conscious of whatever image she is giving off. In fact, contrary to her "cool" and "popular" image, Ai's frequent use of puns can sometimes come off as so lame that the other members react with visible exasperation.

Appearance: Ai has light blonde hair that she usually ties up into a ponytail and orange eyes.

Personality: Karin is very mature and gives off a rather seductive vibe. She uses her adult-like looks to her advantage, such as when she tries to tease her underclassmen. She also teaches others how to be sexy and cool like her. However, these lessons sometimes backfire when people begin to show her significant attention or respond in a pure manner, as Karin will become embarrassed. Despite her teasing attitude, she is rather innocent and has a somewhat naive side to her personality.
Sometimes, Karin is a little bit more childish and nervous than usual, which she dislikes, but she manages to keep up her cool demeanor most of the time. While she is quite confident and likes to compete, she's also a genuinely supportive and empathetic person.
Because of her modeling activities taking up most of her time, her grades are below average and she has difficulties waking up in the morning.

Appearance: Karin is tall with short navy blue hair that reaches her shoulders and bright blue eyes. She has three aligned beauty marks on the left side of her chest.

Personality: Mia is a very straightforward and competitive girl, to the point of declaring war on Yuu as a songwriter out of the blue. However, her confidence is a façade and she actually tends to feel insecure about her songs' quality compared to Yuu's. At some point, she tried to determine why she felt this way despite being convinced that her own songs were better than the Yuu's.

Appearance: Mia has boycut-styled platinum silver hair and has grey eyes. She also has a visible silver rectangular earring on her left ear.

Personality: Shioriko is described as calm and academically gifted. She values Japanese tradition and has been trained in traditional dance and flower arranging. She has a talent for identifying people's strengths and weaknesses, and uses this to help students at Nijigasaki High School succeed in their club activities by offering advice.

Appearance: Shioriko has semi-long dark green hair and vermilion eyes. She wears a small yellow hair ribbon on the left side.

older Sister: Kaoruko Mifune who is a music teacher at Nijigasaki.

Personality: Since she was a kid, Lanzhu was treated as a gifted girl due to her noticeable talents in many fields. However, this generated insecurity in her as she was always eventually left by others because she was treated as "special" and not as an equal among her peers.

Despite showing herself as a charismatic girl, her unique personality tends to catch others off guard by how demanding she can be with them so that they achieve excellent results like her, which leads her to make questionable decisions and to treat people in a way that usually makes them feel insulted. Even so, she doesn't hesitate to seek every possible way to befriend others.

Lanzhu shows herself to be very competitive and somewhat arrogant.

Appearance: Lanzhu has long pinkish platinum-colored hair that she styles into tied pigtails on both sides of her head and light greyish blue eyes. She has a beauty mark under her right eye.

Mother: Chairwoman of Nijigasaki.

Personality: She is described as insightful, reliable, quick to take action, and very caring of the Nijigasaki idols. She is shown to have a deep passion for idols, which inspires her goals and actions.

She's shown to be very kind, empathetic and sociable, easily creating bonds with others. She has a passionate and charismatic nature, which easily attracts others. However, her passion for music and putting her efforts in it sometimes makes her neglect her schoolwork.

Appearance: Yuu has medium-length black hair with green tips that she has tied into twin-tails and has green eyes.
