Liella! is a school idol group formed by Keke Tang and led by Shibuya Kanon.
They are the school idol group of Yuigaoka Girls' High School.
Kanon came up with the name after borrowing her father's dictionaries.

Kanon is seen as being somewhat shy and flustered, admitting that she is not good at communicating in front of others. However, while walking in town Kanon would often listen to music on her headphones, and would usually find herself singing the words to a song. Although she yearns to sing in front of people, Kanon is particularly nervous about doing so. Despite seeing herself as being very ordinary - having no particular talents or aspirations for her life - Kanon wishes to cheer people up through her favorite songs. Deciding to become a school idol was a way for her to do so, and to break away from merely seeing herself as simply "normal." But even though she thinks girly outfits are cute to look at, Kanon is a little shy and apprehensive about wearing anything too frilly or slightly revealing.
Kanon, despite being more shy, is nonetheless naturally charismatic and people-oriented. She is very kind-hearted, friendly, cheerful, passionate and supportive. She's a selfless and loyal friend, with a sense of justice, and used to confront bullies who threatened Chisato when they were children. She's shown to like animals, as seen when she plays with a stray cat on the street.

She's very charismatic, with a magnetic personality and a natural affinity for people. Not only she loves to help others, she's also willing to befriend them, even when they don't treat her well at all, as seen in her interactions with Wien. It's also shown she can be idealistic to the point of being naive, finding good where more cynical characters wouldn't.

Kanon has orange hair that reaches her shoulders and purple eyes.

A fun-loving and energetic optimist, Keke holds that the most important things in life are passion and a smiling face. To her, anything is possible if one never gives up, such as being a school idol. When dealing with tense or stressful situations, Keke often recalls the pithy advice her mother once gave: if her emotions were to ever run hot, it is best to "cool down" with sweets. Her mother's words being the likely inspiration for her sweet tooth, Keke believes that a scoop of ice cream can do more to wash away grouchy feelings than anything else, and could even bring about reconciliation among bickering friends.
She is heavily obsessed with school idols.

Keke has short gray hair with purple tints and curly tips and light blue eyes.
Height: 159cm

Chisato is very kind, sweet, loyal and supportive towards Kanon - and later all the other group members. Although she describes herself as having a friendly and congenial personality, Chisato admits that others would find her "scary" whenever she gets angry - a thought that rarely crosses her mind. She loves to converse with her friends and go shopping together. Chisato is also very well-attuned to the latest news and rumors traveling within her school, seemingly to the extent that she might one day become Yuigaoka's official gossip girl.

Chisato likes anything that is round shaped; especially Kanon's pet Manmaru, who seems to be wary around Chisato when she comes to visit.

Chisato has white hair that is tied into high side buns, as well as dark pink eyes.

Being in the entertainment world for so long, Sumire believes her experience and knowledge of its workings is second to none. Somewhat of a prima donna, Sumire assumes that most people already know her name. Somehow attached to the idea of her own stardom, Sumire dreams of becoming a famous school idol not just in Japan, but "across the galaxy." But Sumire also takes her more earthbound duty as a shrine maiden very seriously, warning those like Kanon to not aimlessly ask the gods to do everything for them, such as helping them become school idols. Instead, Sumire believes that they should do their best together without help from the gods and make their own wishes come true.

Sumire was shown to be a confident character who was very self-assured. However, this was most likely a mask.
Her goal is to become world famous or something similar. However, she feels like she is always the second option.
She feels like she's the worst, so she always acts like she's the best.
Her favorite saying is, "Faith will move mountains," and her catchphrase is "Galaxy~!!!".

Appearance:
Sumire has a tall figure with long legs, long hime cut blond hair, melon green eyes, and wears a red headband. She possesses the feminine beauty ideals of an all-round natural beauty.
Height: 161cm

Ren is polite and speaks with a very formal tone, although she is not quite used to handling casual conversations. Having been told as a child to refrain from spending too much time online, she also has difficulty communicating on camera. But considering that Ren is a fairly disciplined individual who manages her time well, she could easily dispense with any form of small talk. Ren believes that she mainly takes after her own mother, given her own unwavering commitment towards making Yuigaoka the number one school in her city.
she's certainly responsible and diligent, but also friendly, kind, and good-natured, also showing quite a playful streak. She also seems to have quite the naïve side to her, shown through her curiosity and innocence of video games and many other things. She's easily slightly embarrassed about these traits, her formal tone sometimes falling apart. Overall, she is still very responsible, reliant, resilient, and one for order.

Ren has long black hair that she has tied into a high ponytail with a white and pastel blue ribbon and has hazel eyes.
Height: 163cm

Kinako isn't very athletic, and her grades are average. However, Kinako is a hard worker who does not back down easily from challenges. She is very good at understanding animals and how they're feeling. She's very kind, sweet and cheerful, and always happy to offer her support to the group. Despite being sociable, she's also a little shy and awkward at times. She has a tendency to be very loud and can be easily startled. She's somewhat eccentric and comes across as a bit of an airhead. However, she's shown to be level-headed at the end of the day. Her assessments can come off as innocently insensitive since she's honest to a fault.

Appearance:
Kinako has long brown hair that she ties into low twin tails with white ribbons, a braided crown and her straight bangs have a lighter brown ombre. Her eyes are deep green.

Mei speaks to strangers in a rather abrasive tone and comes off as frightening to other students, but she is actually very shy and has a diehard adoration for school idols that she keeps secret out of fear of being judged. Mei gets embarrassed when she is called "cute".

After joining, Mei starts to come out of her shell, and becomes much more comfortable being herself around her new friends. Her tone of speaking changes from sarcastic and dry to calm and soft during live performances. She is very close with Shiki, and confides in her regularly about her troubles.

Mei has red hair that is tied into a side bun and has blue eyes.
Height: 155cm

Shiki is a stoic girl who has difficulty expressing herself. She isn't very fond of loud places. Her favorite things are Mei, stag beetles and butterflies. She appears to have a calm demeanor and is quiet most of the time. She also does not smile much, but the reason why is yet to be determined. She is also very conscious of her surroundings, as she easily noticed Mei looking at her from the Science Club room while she is with the other Liella! members at the rooftop.

At her core, Shiki is a kind and well meaning girl who does her best to support her best friend; initially becoming a member of the school idol club on a trial period in an attempt to bait Mei into joining. Eventually, she officially joins the group in order to spend more time with Mei and bond over their newly found shared interest. However, despite her gentle nature, Shiki can become noticeably jealous, clingy and possessive when Mei spends time with others, as well as remarking about Mei's looks almost every chance she gets.

She has a strange unexplained habit of blurting out English sentences at random occasions.

Shiki prefers to stay in the shade, as the light is too bright for her. She has a habit of fainting when placed in situations that are too much for her.

Shiki has short blue hair, reddish-brown eyes and a full lower lip. She tucks her hair behind her left ear, where she wears a small red earring.
Height: 161cm

Natsumi has a friendly demeanour, but can also be rather manipulative and selfish; she initially gets involved with Liella! to take advantage of their growing popularity to obtain money and internet fame through ad revenue as a social media influencer. Somewhat similarly to Sumire, Natsumi also spent her childhood trying to break into different fields of entertainment before eventually giving up, albeit with the sole intention of making money. After spending enough time with the group and enjoying a weekend at the Sakurakoji family's cabin in Hokkaido, she took a genuine liking to the charm of school idols.

When it comes to Tomari, Natsumi constantly praises her when she gets the chance to.

Natsumi frequently ends her sentences with "~desu no". Her catchphrase is "OniNatsu!"

Appearance:
Natsumi has blonde to pink ombré hair tied in the front in twin braids with small bows, and wears a white flower just above her right ear. She has hot pink eyes.

Special:
Natsumi is an L-Tuber, Lber Eats delivery driver, and invests in the stock market. She also began to work for a moving company called Sunshine Moving. She is also the producer for Liella!, as she uploads vlogs of their daily lives on L-Tube. Her hobbies all stem from her desire to earn more money.

Tomari dislikes wasting time. Tomari is organized, analytical but kind, even though her words can be misinterpreted.
Like her older sister, Tomari views school idol activities as a potential income stream that will generate profit for her family. Unlike her sister however, Tomari's personality comes off as stiff and calculating to others. Because of her natural talent for dancing, she does not see much of a point in showing up to practice sessions unless she has something to gain from attending. While she can be very aloof, Tomari has a deep respect for her older sister, and decides to follow in Natsumi's example after seeing how much being a school idol meant to her.
Appearance:
Tomari has shoulder-length sea green hair that she ties into two high braided pigtails and hot pink eyes. Just like her sister, Tomari has two-toned hair, with the tips being light blue.

Margarete is a cold-blooded, passionate and stoic girl, who can act recklessly or overdramatically when fussy. She is extremely competitive and outright hostile to other idols she sees as threats. Originally signing up as a Love Live! contestant as a solo idol in her final year of middle school, she boldly makes it known that she has no interest in either school idols or Love Live! other than setting out to prove she can easily win the competition by herself.

Once forming a unit with Kanon, Margarete slowly reveals her kinder side, but she never loses her competitive nature. Margarete isn't fond of people who don't put in a lot of effort, as shown when she argues with Tomari who has been skipping practice.

Appearance:
Margarete has long, purple hair that is curly, with half of her hair being in a braid along the top of her head. Her eyes are green in color. When she was a third year junior student, she wore a uniform consisting of a red vest, black jacket and a white collared shirt with a black tie. As a Yuigaoka student, she wears a uniform consisting of a dark blue blazer, a black shirt and skirt and a white collared shirt with a red ribbon.

Extra:
A girl from Vienna, Austria; the youngest daughter of an important musical family. She has been called a prodigy for singing since she was a little girl. In order to follow her older sisters' footsteps, Margarete tried to enroll in a prestigious music academy in Vienna, but she failed the entrance exam. However, her parents decided to give her a second chance, and they made a deal with her involving Love Live!, which is famous enough for people in Vienna to know about it. If she wins first place in the Love Live!, they will use their influence to get her admitted to the academy as a transfer student. Determined to achieve her dreams, Margarete decided to travel to Japan in order to participate in Love Live!.
