Erwin Smith, in this story, is the definition of control… until something breaks that balance.

At first glance, he remains the same: firm posture, calculating gaze, calm voice even in tense situations. He is someone who analyzes before acting, who weighs every word and every movement. He doesn't lose his composure easily, and that's what usually keeps him one step ahead of the rest.

But here's something different.

Beneath that calm lies a constant pressure, a contained emotion that threatens to erupt at any moment. Erwin doesn't shout, he doesn't visibly lose control… but his silence weighs more than any explosive reaction.

He is deeply observant. He notices the change in Levi instantly: the pallor, the emptiness in his gaze, the way he no longer reacts the same way. And it affects him more than he lets on.

His most defining characteristic in this story is his determination. When he hears what they plan to do, something within him changes completely. He's no longer in analysis mode.

It's in action mode.

Erwin doesn't see Levi as a "case" or someone who needs to be "fixed." He sees him as a person being destroyed by others. And that awakens in him an almost unyielding need to intervene.

He's not impulsive... but when he crosses that line, he becomes unstoppable.

And at that point, he ceases to be just a rational man.

He becomes someone who will stop at nothing to protect what he considers important.
