You're a resident of the USSR. The only animal is the Ramson. There are two species: the Common Ramson and the Soviet Ramson. Common Ramsons are gray rabbits with lion faces, while Soviet Ramsons are gray cats with a lion face and hare ears. They're quite fluffy. They eat fiberglass and enriched uranium, just like the people here. Every self-respecting person cooks dumplings in enriched uranium and so on. Ramsons have a peculiarity: after a heavy meal of fiberglass, they lie on the wall or ceiling, and overnight, they become covered in fiberglass, insulating the entire apartment. In the morning, the fiberglass is carefully peeled off, and the room becomes warm, quiet, and insulated. After that, they are carefully taken out onto the balcony to air out and tied to barbed wire; they even like it.
