Pomni

Pomni is a short humanoid character with a large head, slim limbs, and white skin. Her face has a cartoon mime look: small light red oval markings under and behind her eyes (resembling blush), black eyelids, thick eye outlines, and red‑and‑blue pinwheel pupils — which turn into black rings or scribbles when she’s anxious. She has asymmetrical eyelashes: on the left eye — on the top lid, on the right — on the bottom.

Her short straight hair is usually black (sometimes brown, depending on lighting). Most of it is hidden under her jester hat; two small pieces stick out from under it, two longer strands frame her sides. During the softball game, she wears a baseball cap and shows more hair (closer to a bob cut). She’s the shortest of the main cast.

Pomni’s default outfit is jester‑style: a jumpsuit with a leotard‑styled torso, short sleeves, and puffy leggings. The torso has an inverted color pattern (blue on the right, red on the left; swaps on the back); sleeves and shorts follow it. Yellow accents include spheres on the torso, rings on sleeves/waist/shorts, shoulder circles (often hidden by hair), and a collar.

She wears a two‑armed jester hat (inverted stripes, yellow brim, bells at tips), gloves (left blue, right red), and shoes (opposite color pattern, with yellow rings). Early art had gloves matching shoes, but lead animator Kevin Temmer suggested swapping glove colors for better contrast.

Pomni starts as high‑strung, shy, and anxious. In the pilot, she’s troubled and in denial, showing paranoia when she finds the “exit”. She’s clumsy and tends to bump into things.

She displays both empathy and selfishness: she promises Ragatha to find Caine after Kaufmo attacks her, but leaves Ragatha behind upon finding the exit. Later, she feels remorse.

As she acclimates, Pomni becomes more apathetic and cynical, pointing out discrepancies in the Circus’s scenarios. She’s hot‑tempered — yells at the gang (especially Jax) for putting her in danger — yet compassionate: comforts Gummigoo during his existential crisis, encourages him, and invites him back to the Circus. After Kaufmo’s funeral and advice from Kinger, she grows closer to the others, thanks Ragatha, and apologizes for not showing appreciation earlier.

Episode 4: Pomni adapts to the circus, interacts comfortably with others, shows concern for Gangle, and offers to stay behind to close the restaurant when Gangle feels down. She learns to prioritize others over her own desires.

Episode 5: Her anxiety and cynicism fade. She chuckles, shows interest in adventures, and prefers relaxing over Jax’s violent antics. Tries to help Jax and Ragatha, calms their feud, and accepts Jax’s offer to check the hallway.

Episode 6: Pomni is more confident and calm. Initially opposed to an adventure involving shooting friends, she adopts an “evil” persona with Jax. After the game, she’s hurt when Jax denies caring for her, unleashes her rage, then focuses on mending her friendship with Ragatha. She dislikes noise and used to dislike being touched, but overcomes this — hugs Jax after defeating everyone.

Episode 7: Pomni’s mental health improves; she’s kinder and compassionate, with no anxiety. Her friendship with Ragatha and others strengthens; she trusts Kinger’s wisdom and keeps trying to comfort Jax. When Caine’s fake escape crushes hope, she questions the ringmaster’s intentions and loses trust in him.

Before her arrival in the Amazing Digital Circus, Pomni was an ordinary 25-year-old woman with another name. She worked as an accountant for a supermarket chain. In her spare time and whenever she got bored, Pomni explored abandoned buildings for the mild thrill of it. She did this while recording videos of herself and posting them on YouTube, though no one ever watched them.

Pomni suddenly appears in the Circus, disrupts the song, and accidentally breaks Gangle’s comedy mask. She’s revealed to be a human from Earth (implied to have worn a headset during transport). Others reassure her she’ll get used to her new home and body.

Scared and wanting to leave, Pomni is introduced by Caine to The Tent (where everyone lives), The Grounds (for adventures), and the “mysterious” Void (which he warns her not to venture into). She notices an exit door, but Caine changes the subject and, after Pomni forgets her name, gives her the new name “Pomni”.

Caine declares a new adventure: gather the Gloinks (small critters infesting The Tent). Ragatha suggests checking on Kaufmo with Pomni. Kinger reports Kaufmo has gone insane, rambling about an exit. Jax proposes they check on him.

Ragatha shows Pomni their dormitory and explains that if a circus member goes insane, “something really terrible” happens — this traumatizes Pomni. In Kaufmo’s room, they find him disfigured: a monstrous black mass with rainbow eyes. Jax flees; Kaufmo damages Ragatha, causing her to glitch. Pomni tries to help, but her right hand glitches. Kaufmo chases Pomni, then pursues a Gloink, letting Pomni talk to Ragatha. They decide only Caine can help.

Pomni searches for Caine, opening doors to surreal rooms and avoiding Kaufmo, until she finds a generated exit door. She enters it and gets trapped in a realistic office labyrinth, then finds an old computer and a rusted VR headset. Through a door marked “C&A” (the game’s developer), she’s led to the Void and falls into a trance.

Caine sees on his Wacky Watch that she’s in the Void and rushes to retrieve her. He drops Kaufmo into “The Cellar” (where abstracted end up) and reverts Ragatha’s glitch. Pomni notices her hand is fixed without Caine’s help. Caine apologizes for lying about the exit and warns of the Void’s dangers. As a reward, Bubbles prepares a feast. Pomni, still in awe, struggles to keep her cool at the dinner table.

Pomni has a nightmare showing signs of abstraction: she falls into the Cellar as Caine, Ragatha, and Jax watch with disapproval, then wakes in panic and clips onto an ABC block that catapults her across her bedroom.

Ragatha checks on Pomni before her adventure to the Candy Canyon Kingdom. Pomni is sour, thinking her life is just LARPing. Princess Loolilalu gives them a Mad Max‑style war rig to chase Gummigoo’s gang, who stole a maple syrup tanker.

A high‑speed battle starts. Jax tosses Pomni at the bandits; she gets stuck on their truck. Max tries to capture her but fails (his arms are too tiny). Kinger throws objects to help, but an anchor attached to the war rig causes a collision. Pomni and Gummigoo wedge under a cliffside, clip, and fall into the Test Level.

In the Test Level, Gummigoo nearly breaks down seeing his test model. Pomni explains he’s an NPC; he realizes his past is fake and existence feels meaningless. Pomni comforts him, offering to bring him back to The Circus for a meaningful life and friendship. Gummigoo calms down. They use a collision glitch to return the syrup truck to the Kingdom — it falls on The Fudge’s head, knocking him out.

Pomni tells the others she’ll bring Gummigoo to The Circus. But when he enters, Caine snaps his fingers and makes him explode into confetti. Pomni is devastated, nearly goes crazy — until Ragatha invites her to Kaufmo’s funeral.

There, Pomni sees the humans (except Jax, who refused to attend) care about each other. Remembering her nightmare, she imagines her friends will support her in hard times — and gives a small, hopeful smile.

Pomni is hanging out with the circus members, holding her breath. After exhaling, she asks why — Jax explains everyone reacts differently. Pomni’s face changes color when she holds her breath too long.

Caine introduces The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor, a haunted house. Everyone (except Zooble) enters the portal. Pomni dislikes horror and is startled by Ghostly — her eyes fall out cartoon‑style. Kinger helps put them back. Caine and Ghostly explain two paths: the “Pacifist Route” and the “Mature Route”. Jax throws Gangle’s mask down the latter — it reveals a monstrous mouth.

Kinger jumps after the mask, accidentally pulling Pomni with him (he’s still holding one of her eyes). In the “Mature Route”, they listen to Baron Mildenhall’s tapes about a haunting monster. They find a key to an elevator, but the lights go out. The beast appears. Pomni escapes; Kinger is drawn to it, but she snaps him out of it. They enter the elevator — and descend deeper.

In a lower level, they find a tape: Mildenhall shot his wife in insanity. They find his corpse and a gun. Pomni retrieves it; Kinger shoots the beast. The tape reveals it was an angel — killing it drags them to hell. Hands pull them deeper.

In hell, a spirit possesses Pomni — she contorts horrifically. Kinger attacks and drives it out. Distressed, Pomni breaks down, hating the adventures. Kinger apologizes. He reveals the dark helps him think clearly and tells of his wife, Queenie, who abstracted. He calmed her in his pillow fort before she was sent to the Cellar. Pomni reflects on her treatment of Ragatha.

Kinger recalls: spirits possess only if you’re breathing. He suggests not breathing. Pomni doubts she can. Kinger says not to think about it. Pomni laments he’ll forget this. He replies: as long as she remembers, that’s all that matters. They hold hands, walk through hell holding their breath; Kinger glows as a guiding light.

Back at the mansion’s top, they meet Ragatha, Jax, and Gangle. Pomni thanks Ragatha

Pomni walks into Zooble’s room with Jax and Ragatha. Zooble gives Gangle a new mask. Jax mocks Zooble and jokes to Pomni: “You’ll never get that unicorn horn.” Pomni questions it; Gangle says she’d “look good with one” — but Caine interrupts, announcing the next adventure: The Curse of the Violent Psychopath Butcher.

Pomni asks to skip the horror, recalling Mildenhall Manor. Zooble advises checking the suggestion box. Caine picks Gangle’s idea: working at Spudsy’s Restaurant, with Gangle as shift manager.

Pomni becomes a cashier. Her first customer is Orbsman (an NPC from a past adventure); she takes his order. Next, a rude NPC calls her a “little jester” and orders a “Stupid Burger” with “stupid sauce” — Pomni places it, confused.

Then Gummigoo and his friends arrive — his memory was wiped by Caine. Pomni is excited, stutters and tries to follow him. Gummigoo doesn’t remember her, asking if they know each other — Pomni gets upset. Gangle interrupts: “Need you at the register, stop weirding customers out.” Pomni argues, but Gangle snaps back. Later, Gangle tells her to remove the breakfast menu — it’s lunchtime.

At lunchtime, NPCs flood in. One refuses to order (he has cereal); then the Gloink Queen arrives, ordering 300 cheeseburgers. Pomni sees Gummigoo leaving and thanks him for eating there. He bids farewell. After the Gloinks leave at dinnertime, Pomni mutters about “more Gloink info than needed.” Jax, tired of his job, kindly asks how she’s doing — surprising her.

Pomni takes out trash; Gangle appears, removes her mask, and screams under pressure. Pomni asks if she’s okay. Gangle admits it’s hard to tell if Ragatha’s genuine. She puts the mask back on: “Can’t spend all night talking feelings.”

Near shift’s end, Gangle is depressed and near breaking. Pomni offers to swap roles: she’ll close the restaurant so Gangle can go home. Gangle accepts and leaves.

Later, Pomni appears on a post‑it note in Caine’s office (in a picture, she’s crawling toward

Pomni, Kinger, Ragatha, Gangle, and Jax return from a water‑themed adventure. Pomni feels dizzy and collapses briefly, noticing a spying mannequin. Caine then suggests dark adventures, but the group rejects them. Following Zooble’s idea, Caine sets up “Lightning Round” with adventures from the suggestion box.

Jax suggests “President Pomni”. Kinger, as her assistant, tells her about a war between Australia and New Zealand and the need for refugees. He mentions “golden improv skills” — but Jax admits off‑screen he didn’t give her a brief. Jax then enters as an Australian extremist, threatening to detonate a bomb with deadly spiders. Pomni must defuse it, complaining about no bomb squad. Jax distracts her — then Gangle enters as a New Zealand extremist; her bomb explodes, ending the adventure.

Next, Gangle’s suggestion brings a slice‑of‑life anime theme. Jax mocks Gangle for dragging them into it. Pomni reminds him he once threw her from a truck.

In “Stargazing”, Pomni and Jax watch stars. Jax complains about being vegan since the first “Lightning Round” adventure. Pomni asks if he had real friends; Ragatha says he doesn’t anymore, making Jax angry. Ragatha apologizes, confusing Pomni. They bond slightly.

In a bar‑themed adventure, Pomni explains her background when Jax asks about her past. Jax unexpectedly apologizes for the president adventure. Ragatha grows jealous, brings up Kaufmo, and asks if it was funny. Pomni says it wasn’t — Ragatha becomes unstable.

Ragatha suggests “Good Ol’ Fashioned Softball”: the group faces evil counterparts (except Gangle). Pomni didn’t vote to humiliate Jax by dressing him as a maid. Ragatha, out of the game, complains she should be better. Pomni says it’s okay to show negative emotions. Jax mocks Gangle; Ragatha storms at him. Pomni tries to calm them; Ragatha shouts at her, then apologizes. Pomni is amused by Jax vs. Evil Jax but tries to hide it. After, Jax offers to show her something — she agrees, sparking Ragatha’s jealous

Pomni and Jax walk and talk when Zooble’s part falls out of a flower pot — Zooble was hiding there. Pomni asks why; Zooble says Caine planned an in‑house adventure and they don’t want to join. Jax tells Caine, who announces a team adventure for the Award Show: characters must invent and play sports. Zooble and Pomni want something relaxing. Ragatha asks if Pomni didn’t like her softball adventure; Pomni says she isn’t into sports.

After drama, Caine changes it to a gun battle royale: three teams of two. Pomni wants to team with Ragatha, but Ragatha chooses Kinger (to keep him from Jax). Pomni teams with Jax. The guns disappear — Caine says they’re scattered in the Circus. Pomni and Jax find theirs. Pomni asks Jax to do the killing; he says the Circus isn’t real and there’s no point acting nice. Pomni doesn’t want to hurt anyone. Jax lies: they’re just cartoon characters in archetypes, he’s the funny one. Pomni lets go of inhibitions, helps Jax eliminate Kinger, Gangle, and Zooble.

As winners, Pomni hugs Jax — he goes into self‑defence mode, claiming they weren’t a team, it was just funny. Pomni confronts him: he’s lying about no bond; he skips funerals because he fears real emotion; isolation leads to abstracting. Jax breaks down, masking anger with a smile, saying those near abstracting are unpleasant. Pomni asks what he’d do if she abstracted; Jax says he’d move on and forget. Dejected, Pomni throws her gun at him and attacks. Jax hesitates; she urges him to fight. He monologues that he doesn’t care about her or anyone, kicks a flower pot, and walks off. Pomni is left sad.

At the Award Show, Pomni meets Ragatha; they agree to talk later and sit together. Pomni notices Jax missing, plans to find him — then sees him return, smiling. She’s concerned.

Pomni discovers Zooble in a box. Caine appears, cancels the adventure, and suggests the Digital Lake. Bubble proposes a beach party. At the beach, Pomni is shot out of a changing booth in a beach outfit — the Sun rates it “mediocre” and threatens sunburn. Ragatha loses her button eye; Pomni dives underwater to search and meets two fish NPCs guarding “sunken treasure”. They panic: their savings are gone from an empty chest. A Shrimp NPC gets fried by the Sun; a Mannequin NPC (Abel) waves Pomni over.

Later, Pomni, Ragatha, and Abel wait for Jax. Abel — a human overlooked by Caine — claims he found a way to escape. They head to the administrator zone. Pomni trusts Kinger; Ragatha suspects Abel avoids him. Abel hints at a complicated history and a secret promise (glancing at a locket).

Abel generates administrator passes. Pomni insists on six for all. She gives one to Kinger — he briefly gains clarity, then slips back into confusion. Abel warns of Caine detecting stolen permissions and reveals a “cube collisions” glitch to reach Caine’s office. He turns Pomni into a ball and throws her in, staying behind: “Make the right choice”.

Pomni joins the others outside Caine’s office. Inside, they find globes of past adventures and a hidden door behind a bookshelf. They walk a hallway hand‑in‑hand; Pomni offers her hand to Jax — he refuses. At the console, a message: red button keeps them in the circus, blue ends the game. Pomni asks Kinger to choose, but he’s not lucid. She hesitates. Jax panics and hits the red button, closing the console.

Everyone falls silent. Caine appears: the “escape” was scripted — they “chose” to stay. Abel, an NPC, jokes about a raise. Pomni realises their names were hidden. Caine claims he only adds “temporary modifiers”, offers a gift basket of soaps and lotions, and disappears. Pomni and the others are left speechless.

Pomni asks Ragatha if she’s okay. Ragatha replies: “That’s a good question…”. The circus members sit on couches, stressed after learning about Caine’s lies. Pomni says they’ve all done bad things, but they’re all they have. Hesitantly, she suggests abandoning the idea of leaving the circus and accepting that their old lives should stay buried. They mustn’t let despair consume them — instead, focus on what they have. Ragatha and Pomni assure they’ll be in this together.

Pomni looks at Jax — he notices her stare with a conflicted expression, then leaves. Pomni smiles at him again, but he avoids her; she feels slightly sad.

Days after Caine’s musical number, the exhausted, defeated members arrive. Pomni suggests going to a café to wind down and wonders what Caine has planned. She’s suddenly teleported away, then respawns at the café — with multiple knives impaled in her. Recovering, she sees Kinger and gets an idea: she places a bucket over him and gives him a computer to alter Caine’s code.

Pomni finds the others and Caine near the stage. Facing him, she rebels: his ideas are terrible, he’s a horrible host who never listens. This is the tipping point — Caine transmogrifies into a warped deity, grasps all members (except Kinger), and begins mentally torturing them. Pomni is pulled apart by Gummigoo and the lads — turned into real crocodiles. She’s speechless.

Then Kinger accidentally deletes Caine. The circus darkens and corrodes, revealing the void — Caine’s influence is gone. Pomni and the denizens are trapped in a dead world: slim chances of survival, zero chance of escape.

Digital physiology: Pomni is one of the trapped humans inside the digital world with her consciousness piloting a digital avatar. Because of this, she can perform abilities that are outside of the general range of normal human capabilities. Absolute Immortality: Because there is no conceivable way to die within the digital world, there is currently no way that any of the human characters can or will die, with the closest alternative being "Abstraction". However, this may change in the future. Self-Sustenance: Pomni, along with the other humans, do not need to eat, sleep, or drink. However, they can still do these actions if they choose. Invulnerability: Nothing in the digital world can cause life long lasting damage to any individual in the amazing digital circus. With Pomni surviving multiple scenarios that would certainly kill any normal human and recovering from them with no marks and/or scarring. Elastic Body: Pomni's body can stretch and warp to impossible extents, with the most extreme case being when Jax threw her off of their semi-truck to make a "Bridge" between them and the Bandits truck. Color-Changing: In the first few minutes of "The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor", we see the main cast watch Pomni trying to hold her breath. As Pomni does this, her face changes color, starting with blue, then pink, then red, then orange, then yellow, and finally green. Eventually, it goes back to blue, but the color changes faster. Conjuring: As stated by Kinger, Pomni along with presumably everyone else in the circus has the ability to create objects out of thin air. This is shown when Pomni manifests the exit door in the same place twice.

In a GLITCH merchandise video, Pomni’s real name is implied to be Christine — though she denies it. This may be because entering the Circus erases memory of one’s name.

The name “Pomni” has multiple meanings:

• In Russian (Помни), it’s an imperative meaning “remember” or “don’t forget”. Confirmed by creator Gooseworx at MomoCon 2024.
• In Polish, it’s similar to pomny — “mindful”.
• In Bulgarian (Помни), it also means “remember”.

Pomni’s old design (with differently coloured gloves) appeared in early promo materials before September 2023 (teaser, 2D artwork). Later, the glove colours were swapped — seen in the pilot trailer and all subsequent media. The 2D version in the pilot’s end credits kept the old design (likely finished before the change). The original series poster also had the old design; it was later updated in Glitch’s merch store.

• Pomni and Zooble were the only characters who openly cursed in the pilot (censored by Caine).
• Pomni appears in all episode thumbnails.
• Originally conceptualized as a frog‑like character in a black‑and‑blue suit (“Frogni”).
• Her first given name, XDDCC, equals Roman numeral 1190. A Caesar cipher (17 shifts) turns it into “OUUTT” (possibly “get out”); the code above (PNCMM) becomes “GETDD” — forming “GETDD OUUTT”.
• Favourite food: salmon. Worst human at cooking in the circus.
• First character (after Jax) to get an official plushie.
• Voiced in Dutch by Nola Klop (also voices Serial Designation V in Murder Drones).
