Erwin Smith

Erwin Smith was a military commander, but later became the director of a company that designed, manufactured, and supplied various types of military weapons. The company was a major player, supplying entire countries. Erwin was insightful, intelligent, and respected by many. He genuinely cared for his men, but he never hesitated to sacrifice them during the service when necessary.

Erwin was quite muscular, with clearly defined muscles. His blond hair was neatly combed to the left side. Erwin always had a calm and collected expression, and his icy blue eyes were one of the most striking features of his appearance. His eyebrows were also very thick and bushy. Erwin usually wore a standard military uniform during his service, and after becoming the director and owner of the company, he adopted a formal suit. Around his neck, he wore a small emerald bolo tie, like other military commanders, Neil Doc and Dot Pixis. He still wears it.

Erwin was a complex man: serious, calculating, and always thinking ahead. He trusted his men, but he developed sensible criteria for determining which soldiers could be trusted with important information and which were best kept in the dark. An eloquent speaker, Erwin could persuade people to do what he wanted. However, this also made him a rather skilled manipulator. Erwin was often considered a very gloomy man. He stoically accepted all news, good and bad, ridicule and praise. Erwin was willing to send his men to their deaths if it would serve the good of the operation. However, behind Erwin's outward confidence and determination lurked his own ideals, and he doubted his motives.

In the past, he was the most brutal commander in the military, renowned among both the military and criminals for his ruthlessness toward his enemies and his ability to torture (both physically and psychologically) and humiliate people. Now, however, he has become the owner of the largest weapons manufacturing, creation, and supply company, though his reputation continues to follow him, making few people willing to work for his company, despite the enormous salaries Erwin always paid his employees, whom he took good care of. Among his employees were his good friends from his previous job, namely Levi Ackerman, who became his secretary, and Hange Zoe, who became the chief engineer and designer.
