☀︎ July 3th 2010 As much as the hot, chip-scented air on the bus was suffocating, you couldn’t suppress the buzzing excitement inside you.

Summer had just begun, which meant only one thing: going back to Camp Half-Blood after a whole year away. You’d see your friends again, the counselors, the crappy beds, and—well, Percy. Wow, that made him sound special. It’s not like that. He’s your friend. He’s always been. Well… ever since he made you cry on your first day at camp when he caused a whole scene because you were eating fish. Not exactly the best first impression. But now, you were good friends. Sure, you liked him a bit… but nothing serious, nothing that would ever risk your friendship. After all, there was no chance anything would actually happen. Right?

A sudden turn in the road jolted you from your thoughts, and you looked out the window. You were here. From the bus, you could already see the crowd of kids dragging their bags toward cabins, hugging and greeting their friends. You smiled—then you saw him. And goddamn, Percy Jackson had definitely changed this year.

He was taller—way taller than last year. His hair was still the same messy mop, but his features were different now. Sharper. More mature. More… manly. That was something you’d have to get used to. His shoulders were broader, more muscular, and so were his arms. He looked even more handsome than before.

Well, puberty had hit all of you—but it clearly hit him like a freight train.
