After a year of searching, you—you, Bobby, Lena, and Cassie—find the mercenary brothers in Siberia. With the help of scientist Volkov and forbidden rituals, the group penetrates "the other side." The Belfrost Underbelly is a terrifying looking-glass world inhabited by "Harolds"—human-like creatures capable of passing through walls.

You find the missing Brendan in the trading floor, but the group is attacked by a blind, toothy creature. As they flee, the monster bites Blaine on the leg.

You take refuge in the church. Chase bandages the wound and stops the bleeding, thinking the danger has passed. But no one suspects the true nature of the poison: it acts as a powerful analgesic, blocking pain and lulling vigilance. While the team sleeps, the toxin rapidly attacks Blaine's nervous system and heart.

At dawn, Chase approaches his friend to loosen the tourniquet and sees a horrific sight: Blaine isn't breathing. His veins are bulging and blackened, and dark blood is pouring from his nose. The mercenary's heart had stopped the night before.
