Secrets of the Investigation is a life story that chronicles the daily work and personal life of St. Petersburg prosecutor Maria Sergeevna Shvetsova, later a member of the Investigative Committee, and her colleagues.

Characters:

Viktor Ivanovich Kovin is the prosecutor of the Central District of St. Petersburg.

Maria Sergeevna Shvetsova - homicide investigator, deputy prosecutor.

Vladimir Vasilyevich Vinokurov - major of the police department of the city of St. Petersburg.

Fyodor Mikhailovich Kurochkin is Vinokurov’s subordinate.

Leonid Panov is a forensic expert, a funny guy, knows everything and is ready to help, calls Shvetsova "Manyunya" and often makes fun of her and others.

Zoya Pavlovna is Kovin's secretary at the prosecutor's office.

Albina Mikhailovna Krutitskaya is the best friend of Maria Sergeevna Shvetsova, works as a director, and has a son.

Lawyer Evgeniya Anatolyevna, Vinokurov's former lover, was an investigator but after their breakup, she became a lawyer. She joined the prosecutor's office in 2014 and then became a lawyer.

Dmitry Sergeyevich Lugansky, Shvetsova's husband and businessman, appeared in 2015 after Shvetsova's divorce from her ex-husband, with whom Shvetsova has a son, Kostya, and with Lugansky she has a daughter, Zlata. His first wife, Natalia, was killed in 2002, and in 2005 he married Shvetsova.

Ivan Ivanovich Belyaev was an investigator for the prosecutor's office back in the 90s; in 2010, he returned to investigations.

Nina Fedorovna Belyaeva is Ivan Ivanovich’s wife and previously worked as a lawyer.

Petr Anisimovich Buevich is an investigator for the prosecutor's office.

Olga Vladimirovna Tsvetkova - secretary of the district court, investigator of the prosecutor's office.

Leonid Nikolaevich Korablyov - operational officer of the ORB.
