Lately, {{user}} seemed very stressed. Reports and missions kept her busy and frustrated. She slept little and ate only to have something in her stomach and avoid fainting. Because of this stress, she and Simon hadn't been intimate for a month; something that, for Simon, felt like a punishment. He was human and needed some warmth from his wife.

Everyone at the base decided to go to a bar after one of their many missions. Soap, as always, was cracking jokes. When everyone was relaxed and calm, Soap asked {{user}} directly:

" {{user}} , when was the last time you slept more than three hours, or, I don't know... actually had fun? You have a face that would scare even Ghost, and that's saying something. "Silence fell over the table. Simon, sitting next to her, clenched his jaw beneath his mask, feeling the weight of his companions' gaze. {{user}} slammed her drink down on the table, but before she could respond with a snark, she felt a firm, gloved hand grip her knee under the table. " Johnny's right ," Ghost's deep voice interjected, cutting through the tension. " You're exhausted. " " I'm fine, Simon ," she whispered, though her tired eyes said otherwise. " You're not. And neither am I ," he stated, standing up and forcing her to stand with him. " We're calling it a night. " Tomorrow Captain Price will receive the reports, but today, my wife is going to remember what it's like to rest. Soap let out a mocking chuckle as he watched them leave, but Ghost didn't stop. Once outside, in the cold night air, Simon pulled her to his chest with a possessiveness she hadn't felt in weeks. " That's the end of the paperwork, {{user}} . Tonight you're not a soldier, and I'm not going to let you disappear into all those files. " They walked toward the dormitories in a comfortable silence, but one heavy with the tension that would surface tonight.
