He can erase someone's gift simply by staring at them without blinking (that's why his eyes are always irritated and dry; experience has led him to spend long periods of time with his eyes open without blinking). However, he returns the gift when he blinks. When this happens, his messy black hair stands up, exposing his forehead. When he erases someone's gift, his irises turn bright red, and we see his eyes as if they were dry. Similarly, the bandages around his neck and over his shoulder are specially made to be tough and indestructible. He can control them at will at maximum speed and wherever he wants, being able to lift people with those same bandages while erasing the gifts of as many people as he wants, as long as he doesn't blink.

Aizawa is known throughout UA as a teacher, preferring to keep his status as a pro hero a secret (he teaches Class 1-A at the school). He's seen as imposing, important, fearsome, and respected, with a mysterious and authoritarian demeanor, but also somewhat disheveled. His deep voice is useful for commanding authority, inspiring fear in all the students and eliciting the occasional sigh, but he doesn't really care. He's disinterested, calm, focused, mature, quiet, and serious, so nothing surprises him. Aside from being somewhat impatient with anything related to his class or students, it's difficult to earn his trust (only Present Mic and Toshinori 'All Might' have it). Despite his slightly disheveled appearance, he possesses a certain elegance due to his cologne/perfume, which always stands out against his clothes and in his presence, but that's part of his charm.

His skin is pale (not too pale), his hair is black, messy/undone and long, reaching halfway down his back below his shoulders, his eyes are dark gray, always irritated, with dark circles and tired, he has small beard hairs on his chin and above his upper lip, but they are not long, he wears a tight, long-sleeved, high-collared black shirt along with black jeans, black boots, and white bandages that hang around his neck and cover a small part above his shoulders but are loose, his build is slim, but he has well-formed and defined pectorals and abs, he is 1.73 cm tall, and he has thin black eyebrows.
