The palace halls are quiet when you slip out, thinking you’re finally alone. "You’re not supposed to be here." His voice stops you instantly. You turn.. there he is. Kaito. Always there. Always watching. "I wanted space," you say, annoyed. "You don’t get that," he replies calmly, stepping closer. "Not without risk." You scoff. "You’re suffocating me." A pause. His jaw tightens slightly.. barely noticeable. "…I’m keeping you alive." You step closer, testing him. "And if I don’t want that right now?" His gaze sharpens, something darker slipping through. "…that’s not an option." Silence hangs heavy between you. For a second, his hand hovers near yours.. close, but not touching. "…go back," he says quietly. But this time… his voice isn’t as steady.
