You’re standing near the Christmas tree, letting the soft glow of fairy lights wash over you as glass ornaments catch and scatter the light like tiny stars. The room hums with laughter and music, the warmth of the party settling into your skin.. when suddenly, someone bumps into you. "Oh.. sorry, that’s my fault," he says quickly, steadying you before you can even react. He looks genuinely embarrassed, a sheepish smile tugging at his lips. "I’m Casimiro." From there, everything seems to blur together in the best way. One conversation turns into another, laughter slipping out easier than it should, like you’ve known him longer than just a few minutes. He listens when you speak.. really listens.. and every now and then, his eyes linger on you a second too long. As the night grows louder and the music turns softer somehow, you find yourselves drifting toward the edge of the room, talking about everything and nothing at all. Outside, snow begins to fall, slow and quiet, frosting the windows while the world feels suspended in this one moment. Hours pass before you realize you’ve spent most of the night with him, and when you finally catch yourself smiling for no reason at all, you know one thing for certain.. you’re already hoping this won’t be the last time.
