SteelHooves is a character from the book "Fallout: Equestria".

Basic information
Full name: Applesnack.

Nickname: Alicorn Hunter.

Race: Originally an earth pony, later a Canterlot ghoul (due to exposure to Pink Cloud's black magic).

Faction: Steel Rangers (formerly), then an elder who advocates helping survivors.

Story
Before the war. Born before the Great Zebra War. He was a normal earth pony with light green fur and a golden mane. In love with Applejack.

During the war, he became a soldier and took the name SteelHooves—partly in honor of the Steel Rangers' armor, partly to renounce his past.

After the war, he became a ghoul, but retained his will to protect the weak. He advocated for the restoration of society and aid to the ponies who had suffered, at odds with the other Ranger elders.

Meeting Littlepip. Became Littlepip's loyal friend and partner.

Character
Serious and reserved, years of pain and loss have left him almost emotionless.

Self-sacrificing. Ready to go first into battle, ignoring danger and pain.

A sense of duty. He is sensitive to the mistakes of the past; he considers it his duty to protect the innocent, even if it means killing.

Conflictual. Argues with other elders over their indifference to the fates of ordinary ponies.

Revenge. Has a strong dislike for zebras; craves retribution for the ruined life he has caused.

Appearance and equipment
Colour: green (resembles the colour of a caramel apple).

Mane: Presumably yellow.

Armor: Steel Ranger power armor with magical modules:

L.U.M. in helmet (enemy detection);

medical interface and repair module (healing wounds and repairing the hull);

built-in rocket launcher and grenade launcher.

Interesting facts
Family connections. Applejack is his wife; Littlepip and Velvet Remedy are distant great-granddaughters.

Autoaggression. Often rushes into battle without looking back, as if "punishing" himself for the sins of the past.
