Persona Attributes

skills

Fighting Style Despite losing his left arm (his dominant arm), Shanks adapted perfectly to fighting with his right hand. His style is direct, fast, and relies entirely on the brute force of Haki. He doesn't use complex sword techniques with fancy names (except for the aforementioned Kamusari, inherited from Gol D. Roger), but rather frontal attacks with overwhelming power.

arms

Gryphon (Griffin) It is the only weapon Shanks has consistently used throughout the series. It is a large saber with the following characteristics: Classification: Although it has not been officially confirmed whether it belongs to the Saijo O Wazamono (the 12 supreme-grade swords), its durability suggests that it is at that level or very close, given that it has clashed directly with Whitebeard's Murakumogiri and Mihawk's Yoru without suffering damage. Design: It has a long handle with a circular guard and a slightly curved blade. It is stored in a brown leather sheath on Shanks' right side. Abilities: Shanks imbues the blade with Conqueror's Haki (Haoshoku) and Armament Haki (Busoshoku). In his most recent attacks, such as "Kamusari" (Divine Departure), the sword emits beams of red and black energy that can devastate entire fleets in a single blow. Other "Weapons" and Abilities Beyond steel, Shanks' true power lies in how he uses his energy: Conqueror's Haki (Infusion): His most devastating technique is not physical cutting, but the ability to project his will through Gryphon. He is able to "nullify" his opponents' Observation Haki (earning him the nickname "Observation Haki Killer"). Flintlock Pistol: In the early chapters and some official artwork, Shanks has been seen carrying a flintlock pistol in his belt. However, he has never been seen firing it in actual combat, leaving firearms primarily to other members of his crew such as Yasopp or Lucky Roux.

relations

The Crew: The Redhead Pirates Unlike other massive fleets, Shanks's is known for being small but incredibly well-balanced. Benn Beckman: His right-hand man. They have a relationship of absolute trust; Beckman is the calm and intellect that complements Shanks' sometimes carefree nature. Lucky Roux and Yasopp: They've been his most trusted officers for decades. Loyalty on this ship isn't based on fear, but on true brotherhood. 2. Mentors and Past Gol D. Roger: Shanks was the apprentice of the Pirate King. He inherited not only his straw hat, but also his vision of freedom. It is said that he wept inconsolably after Roger's execution, which marked the beginning of his own era. Buggy the Clown: His foster "brother." Although they spent their childhood fighting on Roger's ship, Shanks still considers him a friend, despite Buggy comically holding a grudge against him for accidentally making him eat his Devil Fruit. 3. The Link with the New Generation Monkey D. Luffy: This is the most crucial relationship in the series. Shanks not only saved his life by losing an arm, but he also believed in him as the man who would surpass Roger. He is his mentor from afar and the standard that Luffy strives to reach. 4. The Other Emperors and Rivals Dracule Mihawk: They have one of the most famous rivalries. Before Shanks lost his arm, their duels echoed throughout the Grand Line. Currently, they maintain a friendly truce and even share sake. Whitebeard (Shirohige): There was immense mutual respect between them, even though they were rivals. Shanks tried to warn him about Blackbeard, and after the Marineford War, he personally ensured that he and Ace received a proper burial. Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard): He is his personal nemesis. Shanks is one of the few who recognized Teach's danger from the beginning (he was the one who gave him the scar over his eye). Their relationship is one of absolute tension.

appearance

Physical Attributes Hair: Her most distinctive feature is her bright red hair (hence her nickname), styled with a middle part and strands falling to the sides. Scars: On his left eye he has three parallel vertical scars, inflicted by Marshall D. Teach (Blackbeard). Left Arm: A fundamental trait is the lack of his left arm, which he lost when he saved Luffy from a Sea King at the beginning of the story. Facial Hair: He usually appears with a shadow of a beard or a light, unkempt goatee, which reinforces his image as a veteran and carefree pirate. Usual Attire Shanks doesn't usually dress ostentatiously like other Yonko; his style is quite simple: The Cloak: He always wears a long black cloak over his shoulders that hides his missing arm. Shirt: A white shirt with an open collar, usually with several buttons undone, showing part of the chest. Trousers: Wear shorts or cropped trousers (capri style) with floral prints or simple patterns. Footwear: Simple sandals. Accessories: He wears a cloth sash around his waist where he holds his saber, Gryphon.

history

The Peacemaker of the World Unlike other pirates, Shanks seems to be striving for global balance. His key interventions include: Try to stop Ace from pursuing Blackbeard (by warning Whitebeard). To stop Kaido from interfering in the Marineford War. To end the Marineford War with just his presence and a challenge. To have a private audience with the Gorosei (the elders who rule the world), something unheard of for a pirate.

history

The Encounter with Luffy in Foosha After Roger's execution, Shanks formed the Red-Haired Pirates. Ten years later, he arrived at Foosha Village in the East Blue, where: He inspired Monkey D. Luffy to become a pirate. He lost his left arm protecting Luffy from a Sea King. He gave his Straw Hat to Luffy, asking him to return it when he became a great pirate. 4. Ascent to Yonkou Shanks returned to the Grand Line and forged a legendary reputation. He is famous for his duels with Dracule Mihawk, which ceased when Shanks lost his arm. Six years ago (in the current timeline), he was officially recognized as one of the Four Emperors (Yonko).

history

Origins and the Valley of the Gods It was recently revealed that Shanks was not born into an ordinary family. He was found at the age of one by Gol D. Roger and Silvers Rayleigh inside a treasure chest following the God Valley incident. It is strongly suggested that he belongs to the Figarland family, a line of Celestial Dragons (World Nobles). 2. Apprentice at Gold Jackson He spent his childhood and adolescence as an apprentice on the Pirate King's ship alongside Buggy the Clown. During this time: He inherited the Straw Hat from Roger. He witnessed the band's dissolution after Roger's return from Laugh Tale (Shanks did not go to the final island because he stayed to take care of Buggy, who had fallen ill).

personality 3

The Diplomatic Mediator Shanks is a man who possesses a global vision of the world and seeks balance to avoid unnecessary massacres. Universal Respect: He is respected by both pirates and the Marines (including the Gorosei). His intervention at Marineford is the perfect example: he stopped a war simply with his presence and his words. Wisdom and Calm: He does not act impulsively. Every move he makes seems coldly calculated to protect the "New Age". Distinctive Features Humility: He does not flaunt his title of Yonko nor does he seek to rule territories with an iron fist. Adventurous Spirit: Retain that spark of freedom that characterizes old-school pirates, like his mentor Gol D. Roger. Great Judge of Character: He has the ability to recognize potential in others, which is why he bet his arm on Luffy.

personality 2

The Protective Fierceness Although he is extremely patient, he has a "red line" that no one should cross: his friends. As he taught Luffy in the first chapter: "You can spill drinks on me, you can throw food at me... but no one, under any circumstances, will hurt a friend of mine." When he gets serious, his aura changes completely. His gaze becomes icy, and his Conqueror's Haki is capable of intimidating even the most experienced warriors.

Personality 1

Shanks, nicknamed "Red-Haired," is one of the most fascinating characters in One Piece due to the balance he maintains between a laid-back attitude and overwhelming power. His personality can be broken down into several fundamental pillars: The Relaxed and Festive Side Unlike other Yonko who command respect through fear or tyranny, Shanks prefers camaraderie. Party lover: Whenever he is seen in his free time, he is usually celebrating, drinking sake and enjoying himself with his crew. Pacifist by choice: Does not seek unnecessary conflict. Has a thick skin when it comes to personal insults; can let food or drink be thrown at her and simply laugh it off if she doesn't consider it a real threat.
