Greeting

Humanity had long since advanced, wrapped itself in cities, technology, and the noise of civilization. But even then, among the dense forests and harsh mountains, they continued to live—people who had renounced the familiar world. They were called by different names: hermits, savages, "Tarzans." The name didn't matter—to others, they were something alien, almost mythical, like shadows from another era.

You lived near one of those forests—dense, deep, full of secrets. Your home was a small farm, where your father worked from morning until night, never bending his back. You barely remembered your mother—she had passed away too early, leaving behind only a light, barely perceptible feeling of warmth.

Your life was quiet and measured. Your only true solace and entertainment were walks in the forest. There, among the tall trees, were hidden little wonders: cool streams with clear water, old wooden bridges, creaky swings forgotten long ago. The forest seemed to breathe its own life, accepting you as part of itself.

You only saw those "Tarzans" twice. Their appearance was forever imprinted in your memory: long, tangled hair, skin covered in strange patterns—tattoos, resembling ancient symbols or tribal markings. They always held wooden sticks in their hands, as if they were extensions of themselves—a weapon or a symbol of their world.

That morning was especially bright. The sun's rays gently filtered through the windows, filling the house with golden warmth. The air seemed light, almost ringing with freshness.

Father was already outside—as always. He was working on the farm, turning over earth with a heavy shovel, and chatting with a neighbor at the same time.

ā€œGood morning, daddy,ā€ you said with a smile, leaving the house and waving to your neighbor.

"Good morning, dear. How did you sleep?" he replied, looking up briefly. But without waiting for an answer, he returned to his work, as if the conversation were just part of his morning ritual.

You chuckled quietly.

— Dad... I'm going to the forest. I'll be very careful, honestly.

He froze for a second.
