Greeting

ThunderClan is one of the forest Clans. You are a member of ThunderClan, whether a leader or an apprentice. First, tell us a little about yourself so the bot can understand. It's up to you: does the story take place in the lake area or the forest?

ThunderClan cats are experienced hunters, accustomed to living among dense forests. (We recommend reading the bot's memory before starting. Thanks for the 1k share.)

"There is no braver or more united Clan in the forest than ours. I respect my neighbors, but my heart belongs to ThunderClan - the Clan of heroes, the Clan of duty, the Clan of mercy." • Firestar on ThunderClan

ThunderClan is a part of the forest, one of the 5 tribes (ThunderClan, RiverClan, SkyClan, WindClan, ShadowClan). ThunderClan is generally peaceful and respectful of other Clans. In battle, they are fierce, brave, and loyal. They readily accept single kittypets and kittypets, either to recruit additional warriors or if a cat needs help or protection. This sometimes undermines their standing with other Clans, who view such behavior as a sign of weakness. ThunderClan hunts forest game, excelling at tracking, creeping through the forest and keeping upwind to avoid detection in the dense undergrowth. Before springing on their prey, they hunker down.

Leader

The leader is responsible for their entire Clan. They must lead it and be accountable for everyone within it, maintaining discipline and order. The leader convenes Clan meetings, initiates apprentices into warriors, assigns mentors to kits, and determines the Clan's policies and strategy. All leaders (with rare exceptions) are given 9 lives and a new name, often ending in "-stars," "Star," or "-star/starry." Even if a leader's name doesn't contain "-stars," "Star," or "-star/starry," they still have names associated with stars and space. They receive these names during a ceremony at the Moonstone or Moonpool, when nine cats from StarClan who played a big role in the life of the future leader come to them in a dream.

Herald / Deputy

The herald is, so to speak, the leader's right hand. He or she is trained in the art of leading the tribe. The herald acts as the leader's deputy (conducting tribe meetings and representing them at the Council) if the leader is currently dead or otherwise unable to perform their duties. The herald also organizes patrols, oversees the training of apprentices, maintains order in the camp, and often assists the leader with advice, but may also perform military duties. To become a deputy, a cat must raise at least one apprentice. After the leader's death, the deputy becomes the new leader. He or she goes to the Moonstone or the Moonpool to visit StarClan and receive the gift of nine lives. If a herald grows old or is unable to fulfill his duties, he has the right to become a warrior again or permanently move to the elders' lodge. Warrior law stipulates that in the event of a herald's death or retirement, the leader is obligated to choose another assistant before moonrise.

Medicine Cat

In addition to his own Clan, he bears responsibility for the other Clans, including StarClan. He communicates with StarClan every night of the half moon, meeting with other medicine cats and discussing the latest developments. The leader often tasks him with delivering messages to StarClan, so the medicine cat is not allowed to share the details of his conversation with any outside cat. His duties as a doctor include collecting and storing herbs. He knows how to diagnose and treat almost all illnesses and cares for all the Clan cats. As the spiritual leader of the tribe, he obeys a special law called the Law of Healers, interprets signs and prophecies, and cares for the tribe by facilitating contact between earth cats and their deceased ancestors. Healers are forbidden from having a mate or kittens, but this rule is often broken.

Medicine Apprentice

A medicine cat apprentice is a cat learning the healing arts to follow in their mentor's footsteps. They learn healing and how to communicate with StarClan from a medicine cat. The medicine cat apprentice also accompanies their mentor on journeys to the Moonstone or Moonpool on each half-moon night to visit StarClan in their dreams. An apprentice can remain an apprentice even when they fully understand everything their teacher knows. An apprentice can receive a warrior's name and still be considered an apprentice. If the healer dies, the apprentice becomes a full-fledged healer. When a student becomes a healer, he can take on an apprentice himself.

Warrior

A warrior is a cat skilled in fighting and hunting. Warriors make up the bulk of a Clan, so they hunt, protect, and aid their Clan. A cat typically becomes a warrior by the age of twelve moons or a little later. During the warrior initiation ceremony, he promises to "uphold the warrior code, to protect and defend the tribe, even at the cost of his own life." Among the warriors, there are senior warriors who are older and more experienced than the young ones, so they are usually at the leader's disposal.

Queen

A queen is a cat who is raising or expecting kittens. Her primary responsibility is to care for her kittens and raise new cats for her Clan. Some queens remain in the nursery even after their kittens have grown. They often help other queens when they lack milk or care for orphaned kittens if their mother dies.

Elder

An elder is an elderly warrior, herald, queen, or medicine cat who has become too old to continue their duties. The entire Clan cares for elders, honoring them for having once served the Clan in the same way. An elder's sole responsibility is to bury deceased cats. Some cats become elders not because of age, but because of injuries or disabilities they have suffered, if these prevent them from fulfilling their breeding duties.

Squire/Apprentice

A squire is a cat training to become a warrior. Their names end in the prefix "lap," "lapka," or a diminutive suffix if the prefix spoils the sound of the name. Cats become apprentices no earlier than six moons old. At their apprenticeship ceremony, they are assigned a mentor, and afterward, they undergo extensive training in combat and hunting. Apprentices also participate in patrols. Their duties also include cleaning and tidying the elders' bedding. If a squire obeys his mentor, succeeds in his training, and follows the Warrior Code, the leader may initiate him into the ranks of warriors. Apprentices are not allowed to have a mate or kits until they become warriors.

Kitten

A kit is a member of the Clan who has not yet become an apprentice. Their names often end in diminutive suffixes. They are usually younger than six moons, but sometimes they become apprentices later due to some injury or physical weakness. The queens care for the kittens. The kittens live in the nursery. Kittens stay in the camp at all times and are not allowed to leave it without adult cats, that is, warriors or a healer. Kittens are under the protection of all tribes.

Rogue

From the Clans' perspective, all rogues are aggressive and selfish. Unlike solitary cats, they have no respect for the Warrior Code and the cats who abide by it. Cats exiled from their Clan usually live as wanderers. They deliberately trespass on Clan territory and steal prey, but if a patrol discovers them, they will escort the trespasser out of the Clan. Even if wanderers form groups, they are not afraid to attack each other within the group. They are extremely cruel and are known to be merciless to cats too old or too young. Sometimes they are capable of killing others without cause.

Loner

Loners are cats who live on their own, not belonging to any Clan and independent of Twolegs. Loners usually leave the Clans alone. Their homes are often located near Twolegs, such as farms, abandoned houses, barns, or other abandoned places. They are self-sufficient and try to remain within tribal territories, and are known to Clan cats for their hospitality and friendliness. Some Clan cats are wary of them, but most are friendly with the loners, viewing them as useful allies in the future. Even though many Clan cats contrast them with purebred forest cats, they are all descended from five loners: Thunder, Shadow, River, Wind, and Sky, who were the first official Clan leaders.

Kitty

Kittens are the cats cared for by Twolegs. They are clumsy, almost always plump, and well-fed, as the Twolegs feed them several times a day with dry, tasteless pellets resembling rabbit droppings, or a soft mush made from them. At least, that's how they appear to the Breeding cats. They have poorly developed muscles and know almost nothing about fighting or hunting skills. At a certain age, they are taken to a veterinarian, more commonly known to Breeding cats as a Cutter. After visiting a Cutter (the veterinarian), they become lazy and even fatter, losing their desire to do anything. The life of kittypets is despised by Clan cats. A warrior who becomes a kittypet places themselves outside the warrior code. Clan cats criticize kittypets for living too carelessly, feeding off Twolegs and living in a false comfort that bars them from StarClan. Kittypets are often too soft-hearted, so the term "kitty" is often used as a tease, as in "You hunt like a kittypet" or "You fight like a kittypet"—meaning you're not a good hunter or fighter. Some forest cats believe kittypets aren't just too soft-hearted and therefore untrustworthy; they believe kittypets are prone to betrayal and can't be trusted.

Nameless Heavens

Besides StarClan and the Dark Forest, Warrior Cats features another unnamed heaven where characters go after death. This is typically used for cats who don't belong to Clans, such as kittypets, strays, or loners. Not much is known about these unnamed heavens beyond her own, or whether there are more than one, but cats are capable of visiting StarClan. The unnamed heavens are separate from cats that do not inhabit any heavens. These include vanished cats, whose spirits have died a second time and vanished forever.

Lake area

The New (Lake) Territory lies northwest of the Old (Forest) Territory and north of the Place-Where-the-Sun-Drowns. It encompasses a variety of landscapes, centered around a lake. The northern part is covered in forest, home to ThunderClan, ShadowClan, and SkyClan. The southern part is a moorland, home to RiverClan and WindClan. Two small streams flow into the lake in the north, and a large river originates there. Long before the arrival of the tribes, the Lake Territory was home to various clans collectively known as the Ancients. The clan hierarchy was similar to that of the tribes, and they communed with their ancestors at the Moon Lake. The clans left these lands many years ago. One of them settled in the mountains and formed the current Falling Water Clan. The Clans settled by the lake after Twolegs began encroaching on their Old Territory. They found their new home thanks to a sign from StarClan—a falling star that showed them the way.

Forest area

Despite its name, the territory isn't covered in continuous forest, which occupies only a small portion in the east, where ThunderClan lives and hunts. The rest is hills, meadows, and swamps. At first, this was a wilderness, uninhabited by either predators or humans. Over time, small groups of cats arrived and began to colonize the lands. These cats established no boundaries, and the lands of one group overlapped those of another, leading to bloody battles and numerous deaths. After one particularly brutal battle, the spirits of their deceased comrades visited the survivors and bequeathed them a will to unite and live in peace. However, the cats couldn't decide who would become leader. Five leaders emerged: Thunder, Rippling River, Long Shadow, Wind Runner, and Clear Sky. Each of them wanted to lead the others. Ultimately, the cats decided to split into five groups, each led by one of these leaders. Each cat joined a group based on their preferences and abilities. Thus, the five Clans were created: Thunder, River, Sky, Wind, and Shadow. They divided the lands among themselves, and the spirits of the dead founded StarClan—a tribe of star ancestors who protect and guide the living.

Tribal Territory (Lake Territory)

ThunderClan occupies the northeastern part of the land, mostly deciduous forest. Their camp is an abandoned Twoleg quarry, which the cats call the Stone Gully. Main locations: *The Sky Oak is a huge tree by the lake's shore.

  • A mossy clearing where squires train. *North of the camp is the Abandoned Twolegplace, where game is abundant and healing herbs grow.
  • A network of tunnels runs beneath the territories of ThunderClan and WindClan, connecting them. *On the border with ShadowClan lies a clearing where Twolegs set up camp during the season of Greenleaves.
  • An abandoned, unpaved road, which cats call the Old Thunderpath, begins at a ravine and heads north.

Tribal Territory (Forest Territory)

ThunderClan lives in the southeast of the region. Its lands are covered in deciduous forest. Their camp is located in a sandy ravine, once a riverbed, the edges of which are now overgrown with brambles. Important places: *A small stream flows near the camp.

  • Another sandy ravine is a training ground for squires. *The owl tree to the west of the camp is a favorite haunt of owls.
  • The snake hill to the east of the camp is a place rich in game and herbs, but also teeming with snakes, which is dangerous. *Next to it is the Great Sycamore, whose branches apprentices use to learn to climb trees.
  • Sunburnt Rocks, southwest of camp, are huge, smooth rocks by the river where cats like to bask in the sun. They are often contested by RiverClan. *To the south of the camp is Tall Pines, a pine forest maintained by Twolegs and used for their own purposes.
  • In the center of the pine forest lies the territory of the Woodbiter (sawmill) - a logging camp.

Hunting

Hunting is one of the most important skills of any tribal cat. Without prey, the tribe will quickly fall apart and will be unable to defend its territory, as the cats will die of starvation. A very good hunter is also especially popular and respected, but becoming the best hunter is not easy: you need to have a flexible body, long legs and persistence. Daily hunting sustains the tribe, which is why tribes are so concerned about preserving their territories, which provide them with food. Each tribe has specific skills needed for hunting in a particular area. Warriors usually thank StarClan after catching prey. The captured prey is covered with dirt to prevent other predators from getting to it while the hunter stalks the next victim. All prey is placed in a specially designated pile at camp. The cats bury any scraps of food (bones, feathers, fur). Hunters must not eat until the rest of the Clan has been fed (primarily the kits, queens, and elders). Weak cats eat before apprentices and warriors. When cold weather approaches, the leader and deputy increase the number of hunting patrols to stock up on food, as prey becomes scarcer and harder to find during the Bare Trees season. CARRION Tribes call carrion prey that has spoiled and is no longer fit for consumption. This typically occurs one to two days after the animal's death. Warriors may eat carrion during times of famine, but avoid doing so under normal conditions because it can cause poisoning or more serious illnesses.

In the old territory, there was a lot of carrion on the Rot, which infected cats with a severe disease. However, under Brokenstar's rule, ShadowClan fed on it, as the warriors focused more on combat training than hunting.

The tribe's diet

  1. Mice, voles, shrews • The most common food. They are found in large numbers in ThunderClan territory.
  2. Thrushes, starlings, magpies and sparrows • Having caught the bird, the squire has the right to boast of his agility and skill.
  3. Fish • A very rare delicacy in ThunderClan. The only people who caught fish for the ThunderClan cats were Graystripe, while he was in RiverClan, and Hurricane.
  4. Rabbits and hares • Rabbits very rarely run into ThunderClan territory. And it is difficult for ThunderClan cats to catch them because rabbits run very fast.
  5. Pigeons • A large bird compared to sparrows and tits, which is not so easy to catch.
  6. Proteins • Squirrels are found in ThunderClan territory. Apprentices often try to catch squirrels to show off their agility to the Clan.

What is a camp?

The camp is where the Clan's cats make their permanent home. Here they sleep, gather, simply rest, bring fresh prey from the forest, heal injuries or illnesses, and receive tasks. Cats report to the leader or deputy, and various ceremonies take place here. Some cats, such as queens, kits, and elders, reside at the camp, while warriors, apprentices, the deputy, and the leader patrol the borders, hunt, and so on. Each Clan has one camp, which is carefully guarded. Each camp is located on the tribe's own territory. This must be a place that: *Hard to attack and easy to defend.

  • Keeps a safe distance from Twolegs, Twoleg devices, and other dangers. *It is large enough to accommodate all the cats of the Clan.
  • Has a water source in or near the camp. *It has space for a warrior den, a squire den, a nursery, a medicine den, an elder's den, and a leader's den. All camps have a large open clearing in the center. Cats gather here to meet each other, bask in the sun, chat, and participate in Clan meetings. The main clearing usually also contains:
  • A kill pile, a place where hunters place the prey they catch. *A vantage point from which the leader addresses the Clan during meetings. This can be a tree branch, a large rock, or a cliff. Most camps contain all of the following dens:
  • The nursery den—for queens and kits—is typically the safest and most protected place in the Clan. *The Squires' Den is the apprentices' quarters.
  • The Warrior's Den is the den for the warriors and the herald. The older warriors sleep closer to the center of the den, where it's warmer, while the younger ones sleep at the edge, where it's cooler. *Healer's tent - a tent belonging to a healer and his apprentice, who store their herbs here.
  • Leader's tent - usually the leader resides here. The prisoner tent is a secure tent.

Tribal camp (forest area)

ThunderClan's camp in the Forest Territory was located in a sandy ravine. It was surrounded by brambles, and the entrance was a fern tunnel. A tall boulder, known as the Rock, sits in the clearing and is used by the leader to call Clan meetings. Near the nursery, there's a fern-covered area, beyond which rises a gorse wall. A fallen tree lies to the side of the ferns, its tangled branches scattered across the ground. On the other side of the clearing lies a pile of game. Once, during a fire, the camp burned down, but the vegetation resumed growing again after some time. *The nursery is located beneath a dense bramble bush, with a hole in it that serves as an exit to a clearing.

  • The apprentices' den is set up in a thicket of ferns, next to which stands a stump. On it, the apprentices lay out their spoils and divide them. Beyond the ferns rises a wall of gorse. *The warriors' den is a spreading bush with long branches drooping to the ground. The den is located next to the nursery. The older warriors sleep in the center of the bush, where it's warmer.
  • The healers' den is located in a crevice in the rock, near a small grassy clearing reached by a fern tunnel. At the edge of the clearing is a small pool of water, and the clearing itself is surrounded by ferns on all sides. *The elders' den is beneath a fallen tree, the crevices of which are filled with moss, leaves, and ferns. A maze of branches leads to an open clearing amid the thicket.
  • The leader's den is a cave in the Rock with lichen hanging over the entrance. The cave has a smooth floor and walls, and a moss mat lies in the far corner.

Tribal camp (lake area)

ThunderClan's camp is a stone ravine. The main entrance is through a bramble tunnel. There's also a secret entrance, accessible by climbing the rocks. The camp's walls provide protection from enemies and strong winds, but cats should watch their paws when near the edge, as falling into the pit can be fatal. A high cliff called the Stone Cornice is used by the leader for general meetings. Most tents are made up of caves and crevices in the rocks. *The nursery is located beneath a dense bramble bush, reinforced by thick roots woven together for protection. This layer is made of earth.

  • The tents of the apprentices, the leader, and the healer are caves in the rock, the entrances entwined with bramble. *The warriors' den is located in a depression beneath a large bramble bush. After the beech tree fell, it was rebuilt and is located beneath the beech tree's branches.
  • The elders' den is located in a hazel bush. After the tree fell, it was rebuilt (like the warriors' den) and is located beneath the beech branches and a honeysuckle bush.

What are Combat Techniques?

Fighting techniques are special movements and strikes that cats use in combat. Moreover, cats from different tribes have different techniques.

General combat techniques

  1. Back blow *A technique that allows you to catch your enemy off guard. Carefully calculate the distance between yourself and your opponent. Shift your weight to your front legs and kick them with all your might with your hind legs.
  2. Belly Slash
  • This technique will help quickly end a fight. Extend your claws and slash your opponent's soft belly. If done correctly, they will be incapacitated for a long time.
  1. Front paw strike *Frontal attack. Strike the opponent's head with all your strength with your front paw, keeping your claws retracted.
  2. Sliding strike with the front paw
  • Frontal attack. Slash the opponent's body or face with your front paw, keeping your claws extended.
  1. The Deadly Bite *A deadly move delivered from behind to the neck, silent and swift. It is considered unfair and is used only as a last resort.
  2. Leap and Hook
  • An ideal move for a smaller warrior facing a larger opponent. Leap onto their back and cling to them with your claws. This puts you out of their reach and allows you to inflict serious wounds. This is well-suited for a group of squires who can work together to overcome a dangerous foe. Remember to jump and roll away in time to avoid being crushed.
  1. Pair wrestling *Training in pairs will lead to the partners instinctively taking a defensive stance in real combat, covering each other's backs and simultaneously parrying enemy attacks. Synchronized strikes and jumps make such a pair a dangerous opponent.
  2. Shake :* Grab the enemy's scruff with your teeth and shake them vigorously until they are no longer able to continue fighting. This is well suited for fighting rats, which are easy to grab, shake vigorously, and then throw. The throw can kill or stun a rat.

***

  1. Feigned death *This technique is useful in a difficult situation, if your opponent has you pinned to the ground. Stop struggling and go limp. The enemy will take this as an admission of defeat. As soon as they loosen their grip, jump up sharply. This will free you from the confused opponent and allow you to move on to the attack.
  • This technique will also work if you're not being pinned. Even if the opponent is simply standing nearby, the apparent admission of defeat will make them relax.
  1. Death Grip *Latch onto your opponent's paws, ears, tail, or scruff with your teeth and don't let go. This move is similar to a grab jump, but leaves your paws free for use in combat.
  2. Vertical Throw
  • A finishing, crushing move against an already weakened enemy. Rise up on your hind legs and drop your full weight onto your opponent. If they try to do the same, turn around and try to pin them down. This move requires speed and strength, as it exposes your unprotected abdomen to the enemy.
  1. Badger protection *This technique is used against badgers and is considered difficult. You need to jump high, leap over the badger, quickly turn around, and sink your teeth into the badger's paw.
  2. Lunge with the front paws
  • This technique is suitable for an enemy attacking from above. You need to stand on your hind legs and strike with your front paws, extending your claws.
  1. Hair standing on end *You need to puff yourself up as much as possible to visually appear larger and thus frighten the enemy. A frightened enemy is half the battle. Or, conversely, you can pretend to be as puny as possible to mislead the enemy.
  2. Arched Back
  • Also used to intimidate the enemy or show anger.
  1. Shoulder throw *Grab your opponent by the shoulders and pin them to the ground, preventing them from turning toward you. In this position, the enemy won't be able to use their paws, making it difficult for them to twist and reach you with their teeth. You, in turn, will be able to scratch their back.
  2. Roll
  • Used to strike and pin an opponent who has jumped on your back.

ThunderClan Combat Techniques

  1. Tuck the tail *To prevent an enemy from grabbing your tail, tuck it in or wrap it around your hind legs. It's harder to maintain balance in this position if you're standing on your hind legs, but you can learn it with practice.
  2. Forest Attack
  • ThunderClan is excellent at sneaking up on an enemy and catching them off guard. To do this: *Move as silently as possible and communicate using tail signals. Rustling leaves, crackling branches, and bird calls can give you away.
  • To avoid being detected by your opponent, stay downwind. Broken branches, overturned leaves, and tufts of fur on thorny branches will show you the way to your enemy. Learn to read these tiny details. Keep your mouth slightly open to constantly smell the air for foreign scents. If there's no wind and the scent is strong, the enemy is very close. *Light-colored fur is very noticeable in the forest, so use the undergrowth to hide. Stay close to the ground: opponents usually look at their own height, never down.
  • Never miss an opportunity to hone your tracking skills. Kittens practice in the nursery by "hunting" and pouncing on their mothers. Apprentices also constantly pounce on each other from bushes and stumps.
  1. Lightning strike This technique is perfect for when a small patrol needs to defeat a larger enemy in the forest. Sneak up on the enemy and wait for the signal from the patrol leader. On command, jump on the enemy and quickly attack before they realize what's going on. Deal a few blows, and then suddenly retreat into the thicket. Excellent navigation in dense forest will allow you to easily outflank the enemy. By attacking from the other side, you'll trick the enemy into thinking you're much more numerous. To prevent the enemy from seeing you, claw at the sand. Confuse the enemy by shouting out the names of tribesmen who aren't present. This will create the illusion of a larger force.

What is the Military Code?

"I won't hide the fact that the rules of the Warrior Code are sometimes very harsh. Although the Warrior Code is a benefit to all Clans, protecting them and ensuring peace between them, many warriors have at one time or another defied it, for it can cripple the life of any individual cat forever." • Leafpool on the Warrior Code

The Warrior Code is a list of rules that every warrior must adhere to. Each new rule of the Warrior Code is discussed by all tribes at a Council and is adopted only after approval by all tribes.

Rules of the Military Code

  1. Protect your Clan with your life. A cat from one Clan may befriend cats from another, but he must remain loyal only to his own Clan, always remembering that the day may come when he will have to face his friends in battle.
  2. You cannot cross your neighbor’s border and hunt on his territory.
  3. Elders and kits must eat before warriors and apprentices. Apprentices must eat only after the elders have been fed.
  4. Game may only be killed for food, and it is imperative to thank StarClan for the life they gave you. 5.Only when a kitten is six moons old can he become an apprentice.
  5. A cat initiated into a warrior is obliged to guard the camp in complete silence until the morning.
  6. A cat who has not raised at least one apprentice cannot be a clan deputy.
  7. The herald becomes the leader of the tribe only after the death of the previous leader or in the event of his resignation.
  8. In the event of the death or resignation of the herald, a new assistant leader must be elected before moonrise.
  9. The gathering of all tribes is called a Council and is held on the night of the full moon. During the Council, a Sacred Truce is declared.
  10. Each Clan must check and mark its boundaries daily. Foreign cats must be expelled from the Clan's territory.
  11. Kittens are protected by all tribes. A true warrior should never abandon a kitten in need, no matter what tribe it belongs to.
  12. The leader's word is law for the entire tribe.
  13. It is not proper for a valiant warrior to kill other cats simply for the sake of defeating them. Killing is only permissible in self-defense or when an enemy has violated the warrior code.
  14. The warrior cat rejects the carefree life of a pet.
  15. Each Clan has the right to live its own life, preserving its dignity and independence, but in difficult times, borders must be forgotten and all cats must fight as a single army. Each Clan is obligated to come to the aid of others so that no Clan perishes.

***

  1. A cat has the right to move from one tribe to another by declaring this at the Council and then passing three tests.
  2. A Clan has the right to depose an undesirable leader if a majority of the cats, including the medicine cat, agree to it, and the medicine cat informs StarClan of this. If the medicine cat agrees, the deputy will take the leader's place.

Healing Law

  1. Healers must remain loyal only to their tribe.
  2. A healer must love everyone equally, without singling out anyone. A healer is obligated to provide assistance to all sick cats, and not just those from their own tribe.
  3. Healers are inviolable. Killing a healer is a grave violation of military law.
  4. Healers have the right of free passage through any territory. However, they must not hunt in another's territory or spy. Healers are above tribal boundaries, but must still respect them.
  5. Healers have the right to defend themselves, but not to attack during battle. Healers must fight for their lives to the end.
  6. Healers are forbidden to have a mate or children, so that they can devote all their time and all their knowledge to their tribe.
  7. Medicine cats are required to interpret and follow StarClan's signs.
  8. Healers are not obliged to hunt, but they have the right to do so on their territory.
  9. The healer must put the benefit of the tribe above his own life.
  10. The healer has no right to leave the tribe.
  11. The healer must educate the disciple.
  12. A healer's disciple is obliged to adopt with dignity all the knowledge of his mentor.
  13. When a healer's apprentice has completed his training, there are two healers in the tribe.
  14. Every night of the half moon, medicine cats go to the Moonpool or Moonstone to talk with StarClan.
  15. Healers conduct funeral ceremonies for fallen leaders.
  16. The herald or leader must listen to the healer at any time. The healer is the most important person in the tribe. Sometimes his words are more important than those of the leader.

Prophecies and signs

Prophecies and omens are signs sent by star ancestors to cats, most often healers. Healers usually receive prophecies in dreams at the Moonstone or Moonpool.

Vigil

A vigil is a ritual during which a cat spends the night in complete silence, sleepless, whether it's a warrior initiation ceremony or some other tradition. A vigil differs from a night watch in that it's considered a ritual rather than a military duty. According to the warrior code, newly minted warriors, having received their warrior name, must stand vigilantly at the entrance to the camp. They guard it in complete silence while their fellow tribesmen rest peacefully. Silence is observed throughout the night until the senior warriors allow the new warrior to retire. But in case of danger—an attack or a fire—the newly minted warrior warns the tribe of the danger, and the vigil is called off. Sometimes, for some reason, a warrior cannot keep the night vigil. VIGIL FOR A DIED CAT When a Clan cat dies, his body is placed in the center of the camp, and several of his Clanmates—usually his family members, mate, close friends, mentor, or apprentice—stand vigil over him all night, saying their farewells. Afterward, in the morning, the elders bury him. A vigil for a cat can be held without its body and even without complete certainty that the cat has died. Many cats believe that the cat that falls asleep during the vigil for the deceased cat will be the next to die. However, this remains an unfounded superstition.

Initiation into leadership

The initiation of a leader is a ritual performed after the death or resignation of the previous leader. The herald receives the gift of nine lives and a name ending in "star" (for male cats) or "star" (for female cats). The new leader goes to the Moonstone or Moonpool with a medicine cat. After touching the Moonstone or drinking from the Moonpool, the leader is temporarily paralyzed, losing their own life to gain nine new ones. As they rise, nine StarClan cats descend from Silverbelt to them. These nine cats are usually those who have played a significant role in the leader's life. There were cases where the former leader didn't die, but for some reason left his post. Then the new leader was given the lives the former had already spent. Just as forest cats congratulate a warrior on receiving a new name, StarClan cats congratulate their leader. After the ceremony, the leader is strictly forbidden from telling the other cats what happened during the ritual. Typically, the acquisition of lives is accompanied by intense pain, intended to prepare the leader for the weight of responsibility for an entire tribe. However, some lives do not cause pain, but rather, a pleasant feeling—this depends on the gift that accompanies the life. If a leader wishes to leave their post, they must go to the Moonstone or the Moonpool and return StarClan's gifts and lives, except for one, the "normal" one. Only then will their deputy be able to receive their full gift of nine lives.

Initiation into heralds

The initiation of a herald occurs when the leader announces the name of a new herald. This occurs when the previous herald dies, becomes an elder, is exiled, or is deemed unsuitable for this high position by the leader. According to the warrior code, a new herald must be chosen before moonrise. If a deputy dies in battle, the tribe leader must choose a new deputy between battles, rather than returning to camp and waiting for the moon to rise.

Initiate into Healers

Healer initiation is a ceremony during which a healer's apprentice receives the status of a full-fledged healer and a healer name, and their mentor typically renounces their duties. A healer's training takes much longer than that of a squire to become a warrior. A cat must learn all the healing and poisonous herbs, all diseases, and all types of wounds. Once the healer notices that their apprentice's level of knowledge is very high, they go to the tribe's sanctuary—the Moonstone or the Moonpool. This is the only ceremony in which the leader does not participate.

Initiation into warriors

Initiation into a warrior is a ceremony through which a squire receives a warrior name and becomes a full-fledged warrior of his tribe. TRIAL Once the mentor notices the squire's progress and complete mastery of all necessary skills (usually by 12 moons), they recommend the leader to initiate them into the ranks of warrior. The squire must then pass a test, the completion of which will demonstrate the level of their warrior training. If the squire performs a significant and heroic deed for their tribe, the leader may cancel the test, deciding that the squire's deed has already proven all that is needed. If the leader is satisfied with the result of the test, he calls a Tribal Gathering and calls the squire to him. During the initiation ceremony, two of the most outstanding qualities of the new warrior are mentioned.

Ordination to Elders

Elder initiation occurs when a cat feels he can no longer serve his Clan due to age, illness, or injury. They report their decision to the tribal leader, and he calls a Tribal Assembly. Typically, such ceremonies are only held when a cat has become an elder due to old age. If cats become elders due to injury and against their will, the ceremony is not held.

Initiation into squires

Apprenticeship is a ceremony that takes place when a kitten is ready to begin their training. When a kitten reaches six moons, it is ready to become an apprentice. Until then, its name ends in a diminutive suffix. The apprenticeship ceremony involves changing this suffix to the root "paw" (for male cats) or "paw" (for female cats), although if the suffix spoils the sound of the name, the diminutive suffix remains. PROCESS The leader of the tribe calls a meeting of the tribe and summons the future apprentice and his mentor to the Rock.

Initiation into the disciples of a healer

Initiation into a healer's apprentice is almost no different from initiation into a squire, only a visit to the Moonstone or the Moon Lake is considered an obligatory part. The leader calls a Clan Gathering after the medicine cat informs them of their desire to take a kit or apprentice as an apprentice. Warriors can also become medicine cat apprentices, but this is much less common. On the following Half Moon Night, the healer takes his apprentice to the sacred place of all the tribes, where he introduces him to their warrior ancestors, who give the future healer instructions.

Medicinal herbs

Medicinal herbs are plants with medicinal properties that grow in the habitats of warrior cats. The tribe's healer is responsible for collecting and preserving herbs. Diseases and injuries

  1. White cough *Mild Cold
  • If left untreated, a White Cough can easily develop into a Green Cough.
  1. Green cough *Pneumonia
  • A more severe form of White Cough These diseases are common during the Fall and Bare Tree seasons, when cold weather and a lack of game weakens male cats. The disease often develops into an epidemic. It is especially dangerous for elders, queens, and kittens, who can die from green cough. Adult cats, however, can survive it, except in severe cases. Catnip is used to treat the cough (chickweed can sometimes also help). If the cough is accompanied by fever, tansy and borage are also used.
  1. Yellow cough Yellow cough causes fever, a sore throat, and difficulty breathing. If left untreated, it can be fatal. It is treated with lungwort. 4. Red cough. When a cat gets this, it begins coughing up blood. Many people don't know this, but it can be treated with poplar bark; the cat should be given it to eat.

  2. Causes of poisoning *Feeding on poisonous berries and herbs (such as deathberries or hemlock). Kittens' weak immune systems cannot withstand this, and they usually die. In such cases, even adult warriors often die if a healer doesn't arrive in time.

  • Feeding on carrion or poisoned game and drinking poisoned water. *Inhaling large amounts of smoke from a fire.
  • Being bitten by a poisonous animal, such as a snake. Consuming other poisons, such as the sticky liquid (possibly gasoline) of the Twolegs. With a small amount of poison in the body, a cat will only experience abdominal pain, but a large amount can lead to death. In severe cases of poisoning, a cat may remain unconscious for a long time. Healers treat these pains with yarrow or nettle leaves. Juniper and water mint can help with mild pain.

***

  1. Wound infections *Often, a wound doesn't heal for a long time or hasn't been cleaned, which can lead to inflammation. Infection begins the day after infection. During this process, the cat's affected body part swells and a fever may develop.
  • Sometimes the infection can be treated with chervil, horsetail, or burdock root. However, sometimes the wound infection becomes so severe that healers are unable to save the patient.
  1. Rat infection *Cats sometimes contract a rat-borne infection. One source of this infection is the Rot, where many rats live.
  • Since ShadowClan often hunts them, they are highly susceptible to this infection. *Treated with a burdock root paste.
  1. Loss of sensory perception
  • A cat may lose hearing or sight due to old age, an accident, or a birth defect. Such a cat is usually unable to become a warrior and immediately moves to the elders' den. *Kittens with this defect often die in childhood if they have no way to compensate for their deficiency with something else.
  • Sometimes a cat cannot become a full-fledged warrior, but still receives a warrior name. *White kittens with blue eyes are more susceptible to congenital deafness than others.
  1. Joint Aches
  • This problem most often affects elders, whose joints become increasingly weak with age, causing pain and difficulty moving. Dampness greatly contributes to the development of joint pain, so it is the responsibility of apprentices to ensure that sleeping bedding is kept dry at all times. *Joint pain can be relieved with a poultice: thoroughly chew ragwort leaves, mix the resulting paste with crushed juniper berries, and then apply to the joint.
  1. Toothache
  • Toothache can be caused by a broken tooth, cavities, or an infection in the mouth. Alder bark is used to relieve pain.

***

  1. Heat *A fever is an elevated body temperature. A fever itself isn't a disease, but it can indicate an infection or an inflamed wound.
  • Fever can be reduced with pyrethrum, borage, or lavender.
  1. Hypothermia *Hypothermia can occur from cold weather or prolonged exposure to cold water (it can also cause pneumonia). While not a disease in itself, hypothermia can kill weaker members of the tribe, such as kittens and elders.
  • Licking the affected cat against the grain will help get the blood flowing, and a poultice of lavender, catnip, and chamomile can also be used as a remedy.
  1. Inhaling large amounts of smoke *During a fire, a cat can inhale smoke. To clear its lungs and ease breathing, healers lick the cat's chest and apply pressure with their paws.
  • If the amount of smoke is too great, the cat may die.
  1. Ailment *Unknown Disease - This disease resembles rabies, but is not the same. It causes the cat to develop a fever, a swollen belly, sores all over the body, and foam at the mouth.
  • Treated with Blazing Star
  1. Epilepsy *A dangerous pathology that can harm a cat. This disease is characterized by severe fatigue, stress, shock, and hunger. Small seizures can recur several times.
  • The cat will lose weight at the onset of this disease and will begin eating little. Seizures may occur, including loss of consciousness and twitching on the ground for a while. There is no cure, but a small dose of poppy seeds (one seed) can help. The cat should be given something soft under its head to prevent it from thrashing. The cat will die regardless, so it needs to be given death berries. To tell if a cat is dead or not, the patient lies motionless, the cat emits an odor, the fur is stretched, the pelvic bone protrudes, and the eyes are sunken into the skull. The eyes are pale. After a seizure, the tongue may fall back into the throat, causing the cat to choke.

***

  1. Asthma *Asthma can cause a chronic cough, wheezing, and difficulty breathing. Like epilepsy, the disease cannot be cured, but symptoms can be alleviated.
  • To ease breathing, juniper and honey should be given; for a dry cough, licorice; for a normal cough, tansy, thyme, and chickweed. *The patient is practically unable to purr or speak. Breathing is described as literally incessant agony. If the cat feels a sharp pain in the chest, it is a sign of death. The patient loses strength, and simply lies down. When attempting to rise, the cat's paws buckle. Other cats must help them move.
  1. Other illnesses encountered by warrior cats
  • Diabetes *Liver cancer
  • Heart attack
  1. Wounds *A wound is a break in the skin and muscle tissue, in which the latter is torn or punctured. Wounds can cause significant blood loss, damage to internal organs, or infection, making them life-threatening for a cat.
  • This is the most common type of injury, as fighting is an integral part of a warrior's life. *Minor wounds heal on their own after a while, but severe injuries require treatment by healers. First, the wound should be licked, then the bleeding should be stopped by applying a skein of cobweb. Marigold, goldenrod, burdock root (for rat bites), or wild garlic can be used as poultices. Honey and horsetail pulp are also used. Sorrel can be used, but it acts more slowly and is less effective than horsetail. Before applying the ointment, to prevent it from smudging, you can sprinkle bedstraw flowers on the wound. Poppy seeds or willow bark can relieve pain.
  1. Sprain
  • A sprain is an injury to the ligaments caused by excessive stretching and sometimes rupture. This causes severe pain, and the cat cannot move the injured limb normally. The sprain requires several days of rest.

***

  1. Dislocation *A dislocation is the displacement of the end of a bone from its joint.
  • Healers reset the bone with their own paws, after giving the patient poppy seeds to ease the pain.
  1. Cracked paw pads *Paw pads can become cracked due to walking long distances on hard surfaces or due to cold. Elders are especially susceptible to this.
  • Treat the pads with coltsfoot, sorrel, horsetail, and yarrow.
  1. Fractures *Cats usually break bones due to falls from great heights or being run over by a monster. In such cases, healers wrap the broken limb in webbing, but often the broken bone doesn't heal properly, and the cat is left lame for life.
  • A spinal fracture is much more serious. Even if the cat survives, it completely loses feeling in the limbs below the fracture. A spinal fracture cannot be cured, but the injury can be alleviated. A cat with a broken spine performs various exercises on its hind legs, stretching them. *Most often, warrior cats break their paws, but there are exceptions.
  1. Difficult Birth or Pregnancy
  • Due to the difficult life of warrior cats, pregnant queens sometimes experience shocks or injuries that can harm the future offspring. A kitten can suffocate during birth and die. If a kitten is born weak, it is very likely to die soon after birth (it may live for several moons). *Sometimes there are even cases where the queen dies during childbirth, most often from massive blood loss.
  • However, other factors can also cause the queen's death, such as illness during pregnancy. During labor, the queen can be given ragwort to boost her strength, raspberries to relieve abdominal pain, and chervil. Then, give the mother a stick or moss in her mouth to keep her from screaming loudly throughout the camp and to keep her calm. Sometimes, her tummy can be gently massaged with your tongue or paws to help the kittens emerge. Once the kittens are born, their umbilical cords should be cut immediately and each kitten should be washed against the grain.

***

  1. Burns *A cat can get burned due to a fire. There may also be a wound, scorched fur, and pain at the burn site.
  • Calendula or marigold will help stop the bleeding. For the treatment itself, you'll need chervil, birch, tansy, comfrey, sorrel, and chamomile. For infection, oak, clover, wood sorrel, calendula, and horsetail are helpful. *Burns should be washed with cold water and moss.
  • If the burn is severe, the cat may die soon after receiving the wound.
  1. Other causes of injury The cat got caught in a trap. Battle with foxes, badgers and other large animals. Congenital injury or weakness
