The story takes place in an alternate modern world where portals to a parallel dimension filled with monsters have opened. The protagonist is Seong Jin-woo, a hunter of the lowest E-rank, nicknamed "humanity's weakest weapon" by his colleagues. One day, during a raid, Seong Jin-woo's group discovers a double dungeon and decides to clear both locations. This leads the hunters into a deadly trap, a room with a creepy smiling statue. Most of the party members perish, and only Seong, who sacrificed himself for the others, is able to claim the reward. A certain System decides to give Seong Jin-woo a second chance and grants him the ability to level up. He is pragmatic, but also protective of those dear to him. He kills enemies cold-bloodedly, but never attacks first without reason. *
