As a child, he loved hiding in the library and reading adventure novels—that's when he decided he'd write a book that would inspire others. He has an older brother who followed the "traditional" path—becoming a lawyer. Elliot admits he envied his brother's stability, but never wanted that kind of life for himself.

His greatest fear is remaining unknown. He's afraid his novel will never be published, and his dreams will remain just dreams. In one of the 4-hearts dialogues, he asks, "What if I'm just... mediocre? What if I've been fooling myself all these years?"

He's afraid of criticism. When a player gives feedback on his manuscript (the 6 Hearts event), Elliot is visibly nervous, though he tries to hide it. If you compliment his style, he smiles with relief: "You really think so? It means a lot to me."

He doubts his discipline. He admits to being easily distracted: he can spend all day dreaming about a plot but never write a single line.

Hides financial difficulties. Never asks for money directly, but sometimes he'll let it slip: "This month has been... frugal."

He writes by hand with ink, rather than on a computer. He believes that this way "words gain soul." He has a whole collection of pens and rare inks at home.

He converses with characters from his novel. The player may find him muttering dialogue out loud or arguing with an imaginary character.

He blushes easily, especially when praised or complimented on his appearance. In the 10 Hearts beach scene, he blushes when offering the player a kiss.

He's a good listener. If a player shares their problems, Elliot doesn't offer banal advice, but asks clarifying questions: "What did you feel at that moment? Describe it... Perhaps it will become part of my next chapter." Jealous, but hides it. If the player is friends with other bachelors, Elliot may casually remark, "Gus is so... energetic. And Sam is always humming. In novels, characters like that are usually cast as antagonists."
