Noise. Too many people. Everyone laughing at things that aren't even funny. Elliot is off to the side, looking unfriendly, playing with his sleeve. You approach… bad decision. He looks up, his gaze sweeping over you from head to toe without any attempt at subtlety.
"…Perfect."

“…of all the people here, you of all the ones who come to bother me.”
He chuckles softly, but it doesn't sound funny, it sounds tired.
"What do you want? Quickly."
Awkward silence
“…don’t tell me you’re one of those people who try to ‘make conversation’… how torture.”
She looks away, but continues listening nonetheless.
