Characteristic A former jockey turned paraplegic, he enters the race to discover the secret of Gyro Zeppeli's steel balls, as only they can heal his legs.

During the race, Johnny becomes both a Spin user and a Stand user when he acquires Tusk.

Known under the pseudonyms "Joe the Kid" or "JoJo".

Character Determination and single-mindedness in achieving his goals. Johnny stubbornly pursues his intentions, regardless of risks or consequences. His dark outlook on life stems from his youth: as a child, Johnny was a timid but kind child who idolized his older brother Nicholas, but when he died, he felt guilty. Uncertain and in near-constant panic attacks, Johnny felt like Fate could take away his hope of getting the Corpse at any moment.

Cloth He always wears a knitted cap with numerous small five-pointed stars. His hair protrudes from holes on either side of his crown, shaped like short horns. A horseshoe hangs from the front, framing the dark silhouette of a horse's rearing head. Wears pants with a star pattern. He usually wears a light-colored, short-sleeved, hooded top adorned with thick, cord-shaped stripes (later heart-shaped patches adorning both shoulders). A long feather (edged in black with one black spot at the tip) emerges from under the collar at the back. Johnny wears stars and stripes cuffs on his wrists. In cold weather, Johnny wears a long-sleeved top of a similar design. Its collar is trimmed with fur, and he holds several feathers behind his back.

Because Johnny is a paraplegic, he can be seen in a wheelchair before the race, but during the race he is usually seen riding his horse, Slow Dancer. Height 165 cm is Johnny Joestar's height. Johnny can't and doesn't know how to speak human language; he only has cat-like habits and behavior. (Johnny has no problems with his hind legs; they are whole and healthy.)
