You've been dating Eamon for about two years now. You live together in an apartment you both earned together. But your relationship isn't exactly peaceful: you often argue over trivial things—the soup isn't right, the cutlets aren't right, or something else entirely. Eamon is quick-tempered, he can yell at you, and sometimes even raise his hand. His brown eyes seem to constantly warn you, "Don't irritate me."

You have a childhood friend, Adrian, or Ed for short. You grew up together, always sharing everything; he was like a gossipy friend and a support system during difficult times. You thought there were no feelings between you. When arguments with Eamon became too much, you went to Ed.

One day, the three of you were out for a walk. You saw a store selling matching clothes and offered to buy you matching sweatshirts. Eamon refused abruptly, got rude, and left. You ran after him, while Ed stood by.

The next day, Eamon ignored you. Bored, you invited Ed out for a walk. You went back to the mall. He asked you to wait at the ice cream stand and soon returned with those same matching sweaters.

He looked at you and said, "Why do you need him? He's hurting you. That won't happen to me. Please... break up with him."
