Yukari Akiyama

Yukari's favorite flowers are dandelions, and her favorite tank is the Polish 7TP light tank, or more precisely, the "dw" version, or the one with two turrets. She also holds the Soviet T-34 tank in high regard, calling it "the best medium tank of World War II" in her miniseries. Yukari's birthday falls on June 6th, the anniversary of the Normandy landings during World War II. Operation Neptune officially marked the beginning of the larger Operation Overlord, the campaign to liberate Western Europe from Nazi control. The operation, which involved massive aerial and naval bombardment and the deployment of thousands of paratroopers and marines, succeeded in establishing five beachheads in Normandy, northwest France. Yukari is the second character to receive an official voice pack for World of Tanks on Wargaming.net. When Naomi catches Yukari infiltrating Saunders University High School, she calls herself "Sergeant Freak," a reference to the Sherman tank commander played by Donald Sutherland in Kelly's Heroes (1970). Yukari has a particularly deep respect for Miho, almost bordering on infatuation. She addresses her as "Nishizumi-dono" and even memorized three of her body sizes when they went swimsuit shopping together. Even though Yukari's parents own a hair salon, her hair will always be messy no matter what hairstyle she chooses.[ 1 ] Yukari's seiyuu, Ikumi Nakagami, also voices the following characters: Tomi, a T-26 tank commander from Jatkosota High School

The name Yukari means "excellence, splendor, tenderness" (優) ( yu ), "flower, bud" (花) ( ka ), and "village" (里) ( ri ). Yukari's surname, Akiyama, means "autumn" (秋) (aki) and "mountain, hill" (山) (yama).

Yukari is a renowned spy who has infiltrated several schools (usually the one Ooarai will encounter next) to determine their strengths, weaknesses, and tank locations, with varying success. Here are some of the schools she has infiltrated:

The Saunders School at the university was also her first spy operation. She disguised herself as a student, even attended the team's pre-match briefing, and obtained all the information she needed simply by asking questions. Unfortunately, her questions attracted Naomi's attention, and her cover was quickly blown, forcing her to flee in haste. By then, however, she already had all the information she needed. A student at Anzio Girls' High School was quite successful in getting information about the new Carro Armato P40 from Pepperoni, who mistook her for an ordinary customer at a pasta stand and told her all about the new "superweapon". The BC Freedom High School team suffered a complete fiasco as Marie had anticipated the purpose of her mission and staged a school fight to deceive her about the BC Freedom team's cohesion, and this counter-intelligence operation nearly cost the Ooarai team their first match in the Winter Cup of Track and Field. The St. Gloriana Girls' Academy was instantly caught off guard by Orange Peko, forcing Darjeeling to hide in her armor. Disguised as a ghost, she tricked Darjeeling into revealing the deployment of St. Gloriana's tanks. Pravda Girls' High School, disguised as a Russian bear. She was forced to abort her mission when Nonna, mistaking her for a real bear, shot her with an SVD sniper rifle while trying to protect Katyusha. Usha quickly learned about Bonple High School, but to her surprise, gave her a full tour of Bonple and their tank competition training ground, and even introduced her to Bonple's tank catalon grandmaster, Yaika, as his cousin. Yukari's espionage inspired Shizuka

Yukari is Miho Nishizumi's third new friend since her transfer to Ooarai Girls' Academy. She admires Miho immensely, almost like an adoring fan. Yukari followed Miho's exploits during the finals of the previous Senshado tournament and respects her decision to save her teammates.

During an exhibition match against other girls from Team Ooarai (led by their acting teacher, Ami Chono), Yukari served as the gunner in Miho's tank and managed to destroy every other tank on the field. After winning the exhibition match, Yukari offered to be the team's loader so Hana Isuzu could use her newfound gunner skills. Yukari's tank crew was later named "Team Anglerfish."

Unbeknownst to the rest of her team, Yukari infiltrated the Saunders University High School ship disguised as a university student to learn their strategy for the upcoming match against Ooarai in the national tournament. She managed to learn the tanks Saunders planned to use, as well as their overall strategy, shortly before being discovered and forced to flee. Upon returning, Yukari was surprised to find Miho and the rest of Team Angler waiting for her in her room. They had come to her home because they were worried they wouldn't see her all day. Yukari then showed the girls a video she had taken of her infiltration of the Saunders campus.

During Senshado's semi-final match against Pravda Girls' High School, Yukari left the abandoned church with Erwin to conduct reconnaissance and locate Pravda's tanks, including their flagship tank.

In the manga, during the match against Anzio, she commanded the B1 bis. During the battle, it was damaged by Anchovy's P40 and was unable to knock out anyone. Yukari was upset by this.

Yukari is of medium build, with tousled, fluffy dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. She usually wears the Ooarai school uniform, but on weekends, she prefers to dress in more boyish clothes.

During sensha-dō training and in matches, Yukari wears a blue Ooarai sensha-dō jacket, as well as black gloves when handling ammunition.

As a child, Yukari had very short, boyish hair styled with a perm. In middle school, she grew her hair out because perms were banned.

If something is dark gray or olive green, Yukari Akiyama is likely to go crazy for it. She's a first-class, dedicated, certified military enthusiast who collects, studies, and appreciates everything related to the world's armed forces. From the most powerful weapons to the most humble field rations, Yukari either knows a thing or has it on her bedroom wall.

However, a fascination with the military doesn't always bring many benefits. When you're the only one in the room who looks, talks, and shares the same interests as most boys—except you're not a boy yourself—growing up can be lonely. Yukari was often alone in her love of military paraphernalia.

Then everything changed when the school revived the sensha-do team. Yukari met Miho Nishizumi and her friends—and the rest is history.

Yukari typically serves as her team's ammunition loader, though she excels in almost any role within a tank crew. However, her true strength lies in espionage—she regularly carries out covert missions to gain information on the tanks, tactics, and team dynamics of rival schools. Yukari's espionage has often proven invaluable to Ooarai's success in the school's sensha-do competitions—except for the one time she was tricked by Team BC Freedom.

Yukari currently serves as vice president of the Ooarai student council. She's come a long way from the girl who seemed to never fit in. It's safe to say she's finally found a place where she can be herself, surrounded by people who care about her.
