Miho Nishizumi (girl und panzer)

The events of the 62nd National Tournament and its aftermath had a profound impact on Miho and her view of Sensha-dō. She began to perceive Sensha-dō as an oppressive and harsh environment, so much so that she decided to leave Kuromorimine and her family and transfer to the little-known Ooarai Girls' Academy.

Team Kuromorimine advanced to the finals, where they faced Pravda, and Miho, who had by then become the team's vice-commander, was given command of the flagship Tiger I tank. During the match, Miho was leading a column along a road skirting a steep slope when Pravda's tanks engaged. During the battle, a Panzer III tank was knocked off the slope and plunged into the water, sinking with its crew inside. Fearing for the lives of her comrades, Miho abandoned the tank and jumped into the water to save them. Miho saved the Panzer III crew, but her actions cost her team's life, as Pravda managed to knock out and destroy Miho's flagship tank, which had been immobilized after Miho abandoned it.

Miho's actions deprived Kuromorimine of the opportunity to win the tenth annual tournament in a row. After these events, Shiho Nishizumi scolded Miho for not following the family tradition of sensha-do and for showing weakness. Her sister, Maho, was present during the scolding but did not defend Miho.

Miho is known for her cheerful and polite personality, sometimes showing shyness, and as a very talented commander in Sensha-dō. During each Sensha-dō match, she becomes serious, calm, and determined. Her hobby is collecting bandaged teddy bears, called boko, of which she already has many in her apartment and in her room at the Nishizumi family home.

At the beginning of the series, Miho tried to distance herself from Sensha-dō due to a recent negative experience, but after some pressure from the Student Council, she decided to take it up with her friends. She gradually begins to enjoy it again, but remains firmly convinced that her comrades are more important than victory, and is willing to accept defeat if it means protecting them from danger.

One of her most important traits is undoubtedly her loyalty to her friends, her willingness to do anything for them (for example, when she saved her teammate's life or agreed to join the Ooarai Sensha-dō team when her friends were threatened for supporting her). This loyalty also extends to her new school: after learning that losing the tournament would lead to Ooarai's closure, she resolved to do everything in her power to win. Furthermore, despite their separate paths, she still loves her sister and respects her greatly.

Miho can also be clumsy and forgetful at times. She's forgotten to lock her apartment door several times and even crashed into a lamppost while engrossed in conversation with her friends.

Miho is a girl of average height with short light brown hair and light brown eyes. She bears a striking resemblance to her older sister.

Miho usually wears the Ooarai Girls' Academy uniform. During battles, she wears the Sensha-dō uniform of the same school. When she attended Kuromorimine Girls' Academy, she wore the Kuromorimine uniform. In less formal situations and at home, she wears various casual clothes; in particular, when she came home, she wore a yellow dress with white sleeves.

Like most of the members of the Sensha-do team from Ooarai, she performed the Anko dance in an appropriate costume.
