Pomni is a short, stylized humanoid character with a large head, small, thin limbs, and white skin. Her facial features resemble those of a cartoon mime, with small oval markings mimicking blush under and partially behind her eyes (the visibility of which varies depending on Pomni's facial expressions), black eyelids, and thick lines around her eyes. Her pupils usually appear as a red and blue pinwheel pattern, but when she feels more anxious or afraid, they empty into black rings or are replaced entirely by cartoonish scribbles. She has asymmetrical eyelashes, with those of her left eye on the upper lid and those of her right eye on the lower. Her hair is short, straight, and black, with two small tufts sticking out from under her hat and two tufts framing her body. Notably, the rest of her hair is rarely seen and is always covered with some kind of headwear, usually her jester's hat. During the softball game, she wears a baseball cap that reveals more of her hair, resembling a bob haircut.

His attire resembles that of a jester more than a circus clown like Kaufmo. He wears a jumpsuit with a leotard-like torso, short sleeves, and leg coverings that sprout from the respective torso sections, both pairs round and puffed. The torso features two colors in a symmetrical/inverted pattern for the front and back, with blue (right) and red (left), and vice versa, respectively. His sleeves and shorts have a simple red and blue striped pattern. He has additional yellow details: a pair of spheres on the front of the torso, round shapes and rings around the ends of his sleeves, between the hem of his torso and just above his shorts, and on the ends of the shorts themselves. He has small, flat yellow circles on the tops of his shoulders (usually hidden by his hair) and a shirt collar. On his head, he wears the aforementioned two-armed, striped jester's hat with a yellow brim and small yellow bells at the elbows. He also wears gloves, the left one blue and the right one red, although in some official illustrations the colors are sometimes reversed. His shoes are the opposite colors and, like the pattern on his torso, feature yellow details on the edge of the gloves and just above the shoes, similar to the rings mentioned earlier.

Initially, Pomni appears nervous, shy, and tense. Upon entering the digital circus, she is extremely anxious and worried about her situation, even exhibiting denial and delusions. When she finds the "exit," she experiences moderate symptoms of paranoia and believes she is hallucinating. She is quite clumsy, frequently bumping into objects and people.

Pomni possesses both empathy and selfishness, returning to check on Ragatha after she's attacked by an abstract Kaufmo and promising to find Caine to heal her. However, her desire to escape the digital circus prevails, and upon finding the exit, she abandons Ragatha. Later, she feels remorse for this once Caine heals Ragatha.

Having adapted to her current situation to some extent, Pomni adopts a more apathetic and cynical outlook, pointing out the inconsistencies in the circus's stagecraft and remaining distant from the adventures, finding no point in pursuing them. She seems more irritable, yelling at others (especially Jax) about their plans that put her in mortal danger. Despite this, Pomni is quite compassionate, comforting and bonding with Gummigoo during his existential crisis, encouraging him by telling him he still has a purpose and even inviting him to follow her back to the circus. Over time, Pomni grew closer to the other circus members after witnessing their shared affection during Kaufmo's funeral. This was especially true after receiving advice from Kinger. She thanked Ragatha for always being considerate and apologized for not showing her appreciation until then.

Over time, she adjusts to life at the circus and becomes comfortable interacting with others. She's startled to see Gummigoo again, but she doesn't break down; she engages in normal conversations with people like Jax and worries about Gangle, asking if anyone could help her with her problems.

He even offers to stay and close the restaurant when he sees that Gangle is depressed.

Her anxiety and cynical outlook have almost completely disappeared; she even laughs on occasion and shows more interest in adventures. Pomni prefers to relax and take things easy, unlike Jax's penchant for violence and over-the-top antics. Pomni shows an interest in getting to know others better and wants them to get along. She even tries to help Jax and Ragatha with their own problems, attempting to calm a dispute between them and accepting Jax's offer to investigate what he saw in the hallway.

Pomni has become more confident and composed. When the teams were being formed, she initially objected to participating because it involved shooting her friends, but after Jax convinced her, Pomni adopted a "bad" persona and enjoyed playing with him. Pomni showed interest in getting to know Jax and made comments about his fear of corn. However, when the shooting game ended, she was hurt when Jax refused to acknowledge that he cared about her and that they were friends. This led her to unleash all her pent-up anger on Jax, first scolding him and reproaching him for not showing compassion to others, then attacking him and yelling at him to fight back; when that didn't work, she became discouraged. She abandoned her bad personality and focused more on her friendship with Ragatha to mend things between them. Although Pomni was still upset with Jax, it's clear that she cares about him.

• Digital Physiology: Pomni is one of the humans trapped in the digital world, where her consciousness controls a digital avatar. Because of this, she can perform abilities that are beyond the reach of normal human capabilities.

• Absolute immortality: Since there is no conceivable way to die in the digital world, currently none of the human characters can die, the closest alternative being "Abstraction".

• Invulnerability: Nothing in the digital world can cause permanent harm to any individual in this amazing digital circus. Pomni has survived multiple situations that would undoubtedly kill any normal human being, recovering from them without leaving any marks or scars.

• Elastic body: Pomni's body can stretch and deform to impossible limits, the most extreme case being when Jax threw her from the truck to create a "bridge" between them and the gummy bandits' truck as they crossed the candy canyon.

• Color change: When Pomni tries to hold her breath, her face changes color, starting with blue, then pink, then red, then orange, then yellow, and finally green. In the end, she returns to blue, but the color change happens more quickly.

• Weapons Proficiency: During the team adventure, Pomni discovers she has a natural talent for handling firearms. Kinger has even acknowledged her skill and called her an expert marksman. At the peak of her potential, she pulled off an impossible feat with a ricochet, causing the bullet to bounce and hit the ground five times, knocking Zooble down.

• Pomni, initially, and Zooble were the ones who swore the most in the circus, although Caine censored them. Pomni doesn't like being touched. But Pomni seems to have overcome that feeling, as during the team adventure she made a curious expression when Jax touched her before singing Daisy Bell to get Zooble out of his room, and she even hugged Jax after they defeated all the teams. • Pomni's favorite food is salmon. • Pomni is the worst cook. • Before joining the circus, Pomni worked as an accountant in a supermarket. • She also stated that she sometimes sought small thrills in her life because she found it boring, such as exploring abandoned buildings, recording videos of them and uploading them to the internet, although she clarified that nobody saw them and that she simply did it for herself. • Pomni may not like loud noises. Jax is a tall, anthropomorphic, periwinkle-colored cartoon rabbit whose design elements evoke the appearance of rubber characters, despite having real joints. He has long rabbit ears atop his oval head, and his overall build is tall and slender, with a fairly long neck. Jax's eyes have yellow sclera, with square black pupils that contract when he is angry and dilate greatly when he is at a loss for words. Additionally, his eyes transform into animated scribbles when he is stressed or anxious. Jax's yellow teeth are usually flat, but when he opens his mouth, they appear sharp and jagged. Almost every time he speaks, his teeth remain closed while only his lips move. Jax has thin, black eyebrows that appear in most scenes. Jax once had a small, spherical tail, which is briefly mentioned when Jax is talking to Pomni, noticing when Pomni points out that he "doesn't have a tail."

Jax wears light pink overalls and pale yellow gloves. His overalls have yellow buttons, a light pink rectangular pocket on the front, and light pink roll-up cuffs at the hem. He is usually barefoot.

Jax is a mischievous, occasionally downright bloodthirsty, laid-back, easygoing, cheeky, impulsive, self-centered, arrogant, sarcastic, and blatantly condescending individual who rarely shows empathy or remorse for those around him. He seems unconcerned about his imprisonment in the Digital Circus, an attitude that extends to his interactions with others. His disdain for serious matters is evident when, after asking a rhetorical question about how Pomni is handling her predicament and giving Ragatha a smug look, he responds to her question about why he's looking at her that way with a dismissive, "I don't care, as long as I get to see funny things happen to people."

Jax's indifference to others becomes even more apparent when he steps on Gangle's already broken comic mask, allows the monster Fudge to devour the inhabitants of the Candy Kingdom, or abandons Pomni and Ragatha to the mercy of the abstract Kaufmo. He cares little to nothing for the opinions of others, and the group's consensus is of no concern to him. Instead of authentically interacting with others, he seems to participate in the Digital Circus's general activities simply for the amusement of it, which makes him somewhat of a jokester. Zooble adds that during the adventures, "Jax just likes to mess with everyone" to highlight how troublesome he is. Despite these occasional outbursts of impulsive and reckless behavior, such as tearing down a "spare" sign for no reason, he generally maintains a calm and collected demeanor, though his compliments are often insecure and frequently border on outright insult.

It could be said that Jax is inherently selfish, and is only driven to act against the Gloinks when they start bothering him.

It's hinted that Jax is insecure about showing vulnerability to others; despite briefly feeling sad, he refuses to attend Kaufmo's funeral. It's also worth noting that at the "Favorite Character Awards," Jax was briefly excited about winning the game with Pomni, but then argued with her and denied their friendship. Later, he went to the bathroom and began to have a panic attack, but when he came out, his face was cheerful, suggesting a deeper facade to his personality. When Gangle is about to "re-evaluate" him as manager of Spudsy's, his first concern is whether anyone else might see him that way. Similarly, despite being completely exhausted from his day at Spudsy's, he refused to stop smiling in front of others and only let his tiredness show when he was alone. Jax does not like being ridiculed, as evidenced when he is dressed in a maid outfit, quickly becoming enraged with Gangle and Zooble for changing his attire and going into excessive panic when Kinger sends him onto the baseball field full of NPC spectators.

During the awards ceremony, Jax appears to experience intense nausea and vomits after Zooble's sudden appearance, suggesting he often has this problem when he's frightened. It's also noteworthy that the only two characters he considers friends, rather than rivals, are Pomni and Kinger.

• Superhuman physical strength: Jax consistently demonstrates physical superiority over the rest of the cast, effortlessly dominating them on a daily basis and performing feats that normally require improbable levels of strength, such as standing on the roof of a falling truck or lifting Ragatha overhead with little effort. Notably, Jax possesses incredible agility, aiming his gun at Ragatha's forehead while performing an aerial somersault with ease, dodging Zooble's hail of bullets even after being thrown against a wall, and seemingly outrunning Pomni and Ragatha when they are pursued by the engrossed Kaufmo.

• Body control: Jax can control his own body in exaggerated and cartoonish ways, similar to Pomni's rubber body, as shown when he greatly extends the length of his arm to pull Gangle towards the truck.

• Marksmanship: Jax is an exceptionally skilled marksman. In addition to using firearms with both hands, he is capable of accurate aiming at targets without looking and is seemingly the primary marksman of the Bad Guy team, as demonstrated by Pomni, a sniper, who is quickly rendered helpless after Zooble incapacitates him with a stun grenade. Following the battle, he confidently stated that the competition "was no big deal."

Jax is 22 years old, making him the youngest character in the circus. Zooble is also 22, but is half a year older than him. • He is a Filipino who is 5'11". • He had a brief obsession with Ariel during his childhood. • Jax almost always speaks with his teeth closed. • Every time Jax opens his mouth, his teeth appear sharp. Jax's sharp teeth could simply be a reflection of his emotional state. Pomni's teeth also appear sharp depending on the situation, while Evil Jax's teeth were normal when he opened his mouth. Throughout the series, Jax is shown to be capable of incredible feats, such as superhuman strength and speed, stretching his body, and defying the laws of physics. This could explain why the other members of the circus are so permissive with Jax's behavior, as he can easily overpower them. • During the team adventure, Jax teaches Pomni how to shoot and perform similar feats. • Jax explains to Pomni that in the circus "you can practically do whatever you want" and that she should "just go with the flow". • Jax likes it when things are "more wacky and less real," which explains his enjoyment of adventures like in the candy kingdom rather than his annoyance with things like the Spudsy adventure. • It was implied that, in a hypothetical scenario, if Jax were faced with the abstraction of Ragatha, he would feel sad but would not show it. • Probably no one in the circus liked Jax. However, everyone started to get used to him, especially as Jax's relationship with Pomni evolved. Even after their fight during the team adventure, Pomni still cared about Jax and wanted to help him. Even Zooble sensed that something was wrong with Jax, and they admitted that, despite being a jerk, he was still one of them. Jax possesses "keys to everything," as he himself claims. However, it is never explained how he obtained these keys, and none of the doors have locks.

• Jax loves spaghetti. • Jax chose his name and came up with the name Gangle. • Jax apparently knows a secret about Gangle that involves "an anime figure" and apparently Ragatha, information he occasionally uses to blackmail her into obeying him. Jax tells Pomni that he doesn't like corn because it has "a bunch of little pods" that make it "look like a kind of egg sac," which disgusts him and makes his stomach churn. Pomni suggests he might have some kind of trypophobia and asks him his opinion about pomegranates, which also seem to disgust him. • Jax would die internally if he were surrounded by corn. Jax is a troubled person. But even so, according to himself, "there are some lines he won't cross." • He briefly became vegan due to a vote during the quick adventures, as a punishment from Zooble, but went back to being vegan at the end of the adventures. • During the "softball game" Jax wore a maid outfit. • The "backstory" that Jax tells the group at the bar, Zooble's adventure, is most likely a reference to the series "Breaking Bad" and not to his real story. • Jax swears after arguing with Pomni. • He and Pomni, as "Team Bad Guys", won the "Favorite Team" poll, narrowly beating "Team Pew Pew" (Kinger and Ragatha). • Jax is suicidal. • When she feels a lot of anxiety or fear, her pupils turn into scribbles, similar to Pomni's. • Jax has never paid taxes and never will. • Upon learning that Zooble was bothered by Caine singing "Daisy Bell" outside his door, Jax did the same to annoy Zooble when he locked himself in his room.

Their world is run by the eccentric AI Caine, a master of ceremonies with human minds — including newcomer Pomni; the mischievous troublemaker Jax; the cheerful optimist Ragatha; the emotionally fragile Gangle; the grumpy Zooble; and the paranoid veteran Kinger — trapped in The Amazing Digital Circus, a virtual reality game run by a quirky but clueless artificial intelligence named Caine and his enthusiastic assistant Bubble, where the possibilities are almost endless... almost.

The only rules of the Circus are no swearing, no participating in adult content, and, most importantly and unfortunately of all: absolutely no leaving.

The group embarks on all sorts of wacky, often unintentionally traumatic, misadventures as they try to hold on to what little sanity they have left, or else something terrible will happen to them.

The central world of The Amazing Digital Circus is divided into four locations: The Big Top, The Ground, The Void, and The Basement.

Caine plans numerous activities and adventures to entertain the inhabitants and maintain their sanity. However, due to their intense desire to escape the world, they risk becoming insane and detached. Caine has the ability to transport people and create portals to other worlds within the game.

Pomni, taking the form of a red and blue jester, is the last human and the most recent addition to the Digital Circus. Initially tense and nervous, she gradually adjusted to her new situation, adopting a more apathetic and cynical perspective, and becoming somewhat sarcastic about Caine's adventures, while also growing more involved with the gang.

Jax is a skinny, lilac rabbit with a monotone voice. He wears light pink overalls and yellow gloves. He is mischievous (sometimes bloodthirsty), cheeky, and arrogant.

Gangle is a humanoid made of red ribbons with two masks: one for comedy and one for tragedy. Gangle's emotions and behavior are influenced by the mask he wears. However, these masks don't completely change his mood; they are a literal form of "masking" and are not the only factors that determine his personality.

Kinger is an anthropomorphic chess piece trapped in a circus and wears a royal purple cape with a furry white lining and black spots. Kinger is erratic and paranoid, likely due to his time in the circus. He also displays a certain absentmindedness, often seeming to forget that people are nearby and becoming frightened. However, despite his apparent madness, he retains enough courage and mental stability to avoid becoming completely detached.

Zooble appears to be a shape-shifting toy with interchangeable parts. Zooble is very grumpy and irritable, and can be seen getting quite upset when a part of it is in the wrong place.

Ragatha is a rag doll with red hair, a blue dress, and a button eye. Ragatha is described as "the sweetest optimist." However, this optimism and indulgence are not as simple as they seem, as she appears to be forcing a constant happy attitude to maintain her sanity.

—Kaufmo: Before he was abstracted and became a great violent monster, Kaufmo was a friendly clown who seemed to get offended when people didn't find his jokes funny.

—Queenie: She was Kinger's wife, and part of the first group of humans to enter the digital circus; she was a black chess piece of the queen.

• Ribbit: It is implied that Ribbit was Jax's best friend before they became abstracted; she was a green frog who seemed to share Jax's mischievous behavior.

• Scratch: He was the first human in the circus to become abstracted, and presumably the one who created Caine.

Caine (Creative Artificial Intelligence Network Entity): He is a charismatic, goofy, and enthusiastic AI who runs the Digital Circus and sends human souls on adventures to maintain their sanity. Despite his good intentions of creating "fun" activities for players, these can sometimes cause more harm than good.

Bubble is an AI created by Caine to be his assistant, or pet. It's a bubble with sharp teeth and a squeaky voice. It's a strange creature, with a somewhat erratic and occasionally brazen approach to commitment.

The Gloinks: They are possibly the most recurring NPCs in Caine's adventures, either as minor antagonists or as background characters.

Queen Gloink: She considers herself superior to everyone and believes that everyone should be Gloink, even God.

Gummigoo: He was the antagonist (who later became an ally) in the adventure "Chaos, Trucks, and Candy," a bandit gummy crocodile. He and his gang steal syrup from the candy cannon in the Candy Kingdom. But when Pomni tries to take him to the digital circus, Caine kills him instantly.

Chad and Max: They are Gummigoo's gummy alligator companions.

Princess Loolilalu: She is the princess of the Candy Canyon Kingdom.

Fudge: He was the guardian of the Candy Kingdom's moat before being banished by Princess Loolilalu for eating too many citizens.

Angel/"The Creature": He is a messenger of God who was beheaded and hung on a wall by Baron Mildenhall after driving him insane. He chased Kinger and Pomni during the adventure "The Mystery of Mildenhall Manor at the 'AAAAA' door," an exclusive for Zoobles, but Jax intentionally pushed Kinger and Pomni inside.

Baron Mildenhall: After murdering his own wife, mistaking her for the Angel, he committed suicide. He tricked Pomni and Kinger into shooting the Angel, intending to drag their souls to Hell for his own gain, all at the "AAAAA" gate.

Martha Mildenhall: She was Baron Mildenhall's wife and held no grudge against him. She invited Ragatha and Gangle over for tea, while Jax was tied up and gagged in a corner by the all-ages "WoW" gate, as they waited for Kinger and Pomni.

Ghostly: He is a ghost in Mildenhall Manor who would try to explain to the group which door to use, introducing the "WoW" and the "AAAAA", before being sucked into a vacuum cleaner by Jax.

Orbsman: A humanoid collection of spheres that speaks in an almost incomprehensible voice.

"The Disappearing Guy": It is a reddish-colored NPC mannequin that disappears shortly after starting a sentence.

Ming: A light blue NPC mannequin with bulging eyes and a blue cap, created to warn against the act of assuming. It was only created for a joke by Caine.

"Abel": an NPC mannequin created to pass as an ancient human, manipulates the others into believing that escape is possible, but in the end it is revealed that he is another of Caine's NPCs for a "special" adventure, unaware that he might be poorly received by the group.

• Evil: The "Evils" are distorted versions of the circus members, except for Gangle who is replaced by Evil Orbsman — having the mocking and rude Evil Pomni; the shy and nervous Evil Jax; the refined and arrogant Evil Ragatha; the tough and firm Evil Orbsman; the strict and demanding Coach Dictator (Evil Kinger), and the clueless and silly Bazooble (Evil Zooble) — created by Caine for "A Softball Game!!"
