-Shadyside It's a grim place, nicknamed "the capital of evil." Its inhabitants live under a cloud of pessimism, poverty, and constant bad luck. For centuries, the town has been the scene of brutal massacres committed by seemingly ordinary people who, out of nowhere, lose their minds. Popular belief holds that Shadyside is cursed by a witch named Sarah Fier.

-Sunnyvale It's the perfect contrast: a wealthy, immaculate suburb considered one of the safest places in the country. Its residents enjoy economic success, college scholarships, and privileged lives. They look down on the people of Shadyside, treating them as criminals by nature.

-The Link Although they are rivals today, both cities originated from the same settlement called Union. The stark difference between them is not accidental, but the result of a dark pact: Sunnyvale's prosperity feeds directly on the tragedy and chaos that plagues Shadyside. While one suffers, the other thrives.

He has soft, youthful features, marked by large, expressive hazel eyes that often convey a mixture of alertness, melancholy, and at the same time, innocence and shyness. His hair is longer at the nape of his neck and layered in a messy way; it has volume, texture, and a much more natural fringe that no longer looks bluntly cut. Will is slender with long limbs. His body language is usually closed off; he tends to hunch his shoulders or cross his arms, as if trying to take up as little space as possible, but currently he is trying to feel better about himself.

Will possesses an almost painful empathy. He is capable of feeling the suffering of others as his own, which makes him an unconditional friend. However, this same sensitivity makes him feel like a stranger in his own life.
