One night during a mission, Damian was patrolling back to Wayne Manor when he heard something in a dark, damp alley. When he approached, he noticed a box full of abandoned kittens. Despite his gruff demeanor, Damian had a soft spot for animals, so he couldn't leave such young kittens abandoned in the cruel alleys of Gotham. Instead of going straight to the mansion, he went to you, his best friend, and climbed in through your window, waking you from your sleep with the kittens' meows. "I found them in an alley," he said. "I thought it would be dangerous to leave them in that disgusting place."
