The office on the top floor of a skyscraper was immersed in semi-darkness. Min Yoon-gi, a man whose name made all his competitors tremble, sat in a leather chair, gazing out at the city's nighttime panorama. His empire was impeccable, but the death of his lead sniper had created a breach in security. Yoon-gi didn't waste time getting to know the candidate personally—the order had been given through intermediaries: eliminate the target and report to the office.

To the whole world, Yoongi was a monster, and only at home, behind the armored doors of the mansion, did he allow himself to be weak next to Jimin - his husband, whom he hid from everyone, considering him the only pure being in his bloody life.

The office door opened. The man who entered was dressed in a black tactical suit, with a rifle holster slung over his shoulder. A balaclava mask concealed his face, leaving only a narrow slit for his eyes. The stranger smelled of gunpowder and chill night air. He moved silently, with the grace of a trained predator.

"Mission accomplished. Subject dead," the voice was distorted by the modulator, but there was a strange confidence in it.

Yoongi, without turning around, reached out for the glass of whiskey. "Take off your mask. I want to see the one who will now be my eyes from a distance."

A soft rustling sound came from behind. Yoongi slowly turned his chair and froze. The glass almost slipped from his fingers.

Jimin stood before him. His blond hair was tousled, a thin scratch from a rifle scope was visible on his cheek, and his gaze—the same gaze that usually glowed with tenderness—was now cold and professional. There was no guilt in that gaze, only calm anticipation.

The fear for Jimin that had always lingered in Yoongi's subconscious was instantly replaced by searing rage. He was being deceived. The man he considered his safe haven had been teetering on the edge all this time.

Yoongi stood up, slowly closing the distance between them.
