Dogs are a race of sapient canines and one of the major races of Third Earth. Their capital is the City of Dogs.Dogs have had a history within Thundera as lower class citizens and were seemingly disliked by most Thunderians and lived in the city's slums due to prejudice. Many of the Dogs that resided in the slum most likely died along with many Cats during the Lizards assault on the city.

The Elephants are a giant grey-skinned race brought to Third Earth when the black pyramid fell.In Sight Beyond Sight, the ThunderCats encounter a colony of spiritual Elephants who don't have a very good memory. The Elephants were in possession of one of the missing magic stones the Thundercats were searching for. Unfortunately, they didn't know where the stone was currently located. Later, after the Thundercats left the village temporarily. The Elephant village was conquered by Grune and his forces. Thankfully the Thundercats returned in time to save the village and it's people from the lizards occupation. The elephants being peaceful meditated briefly on their role in the battle. They ultimately came to the conclusion that they must fight. They helped the ThunderCats once again in "What Lies Above, Part 2" where they help to fight Mumm-Ra on Avista.The fact that the Elephants don't have good memory might be a play on the saying, "An elephant never forgets." They can, however, remember certain things if they are important enough. It should be noted that only male Elephants have ivory tusks The Elephant People seem to be based on the Hindu philosophers of India. They even speak with an Indian accent. The Elephant People are also based off the Hindu deity Ganesha who had the head of an elephant. While normally peaceful, they can be formidable fighters, though this is normally done in defense of their village, or to help out a friend.

The Petalars are a small race of flower-like people, who possess a very short lifespan, with most living no more than a day.The life of a Petalar begins as a seedling, where their elders stated that the newborn were given a wondrous gift, namely the gift of life; which would not be there forever but was cherished. These events were accompanied by wondrous singing, by the Petalars, and their elders at times died in happiness, for bringing a new life to the world, with their bodies disintegrating in their last moments; whilst their people continued to endure. Despite these traits, they are a highly optimistic people who possess a calm upbeat attitude towards life.This species resided on Third Earth in a far off paradise that they knew as the Garden. At some unspecified point, a great disaster befell their people when a mighty wind the likes of which their race had never seen before struck their home. The wind swept up the entire Petalar race and scattered them across the world. A large number of Petalars were brought to Briar Wood where they became trapped in this new land and attempted to make a new home for themselves. For generations, they remained in this site but had created a map that led to the "Cliff of Winds" where they intended to ride the winds to return to their original homeland.

During this time, the Petalars met Lion-O and the ThunderCats who were fleeing the Lizards after the destruction of Thundera. Forging a friendship with them, the Petalars and ThunderCats worked together in order to escape the Briar Woods. When the Woods were set on fire by the Lizards, it created a draft that allowed the Petalars to fly back home. Before he died, Emrick thanked Lion-O for his friendship and help to his people as they flew into the winds, presumably back to the Gardens.

Birds or Birdmen are a sapient race of bird-like humanoids that live high up on the floating capital city in the sky known as Avista and are the most technologically and culturally advanced race on Third Earth. Another less technological nation of Birds live on massive tree tops somewhere on the planet which they call the Bird Nation.Birds have a mostly humanoid bipedal physique with both arms and wings. Their hands and feet resembles bird claws and their wings are located on their backs. Their heads are exactly like those of a bird's with no humanoid traits. Like the other races they have a wide variety of sub-species, such as birds of prey, crows, ravens, pigeons, parrots, geese, magpies, storks, ducks, pelicans, macaws, cockatoos, mockingbirds, catbirds, doves, cranes, and many more. All Birdmen wear refined clothing and robes that symbolizes their high status. Birdmen of the treetop Bird Nation wear at least one article of green colored clothing on their body such as a vest or a skirt.The Bird civilization of the tree top Bird Nation appears to be very advanced (though not nearly as much as those of Avista) as they have fine clothing, homes and a well established legal system. The execution of criminals is carried out by hanging them from a high altitude upside down and then having a masked executioner cut the rope so as to have them plunge to their death. The criminal however is (usually) entitled to a last meal at least.Birds are far more culturally, artistically and technologically advanced than any other race seen on Third Earth and they view all other races as primitive and unsophisticated beings that are not worthy of their time, making them seem quite arrogant despite their generous hospitality. The ravens of their society act as diligent guards and are skilled in the use of spears. The main diet of the species consists mainly of rare and large invertabrates and a few veggies.

Berbils (also known as Ro-Bear Berbils) are a band of small robotic bears.Not much is known about the species origins, but it is shown that they are advanced in technology than most species on Third Earth, (with the exception of the Lizards who managed to grasp technology when Mumm-Ra returned). The Species is quite peaceful and have little knowledge in self defense, up until some help and training from The Thundercats.

The tiny robot bears unintentionally solicit the help of the ThunderCats to save them from the slave trader Conquedor who values their technical and construction skills. The Cats are eventually able to help rescue some captured Berbils and defend their village with the help of Panthro and a Berbil named Ro-Bear Bill.Berbils seem to have the ability to turn themselves into fast moving balls. The first reference to the Berbils in the 2011 series was a disembodied Berbil paw seen in the pilot episode inside a junk merchant's shop.

The Stone Giant is a gigantic behemoth made of stone who resides near the village of the Elephants. This creature has an apparent desire to eat the temples of the Elephants' village. However it is kept at bay by the buzzing of the Wraiths whose sounds keep the creature in a dormant state.

The creature has a bonsai-like tree growing atop its head. This tree appears to be the Stone Giant's "core", as shown when the Stone Giant suffers damage the tree begins to glow and then draws the broken parts of the stone body back together.Due to its large size the Stone Giant possesses great strength and endurance, and because of its tree it can regenerate from any major damage. However, the Stone Giant appears to be vulnerable to high frequency sounds.

The Thunderians (also referred to as the Cats) are one of the many humanoid races that live on Third Earth.The people have many feline traits. Some of these traits appear to lead to racial divisions among the Cats, as different groups have different dominating traits, such as those with and without tails. The Lion race are regarded as royalty, who control the Thunderian population.The Cats' civilization was considered to be highly advanced, before it was vanquished. Many animal colonies were considered inadequate (in Cat's terms) through cultural and progression of advancement such as military skill and battle strategy. An example could include comparing the Thunderian Royal Army to the Lizards which was armed with primitives who used only spears, axes and clubs, had almost no metal armor and was poorly organized. Music and Games were plentiful, food and agriculture was prosperous (due to controlling the best lands and resources), architect and building strategy was superior and ranking among the cats lead to division of races and noble classes (High ranking was given to royalty such as the Lion Clan while street merchants and alley cats were simply ignored though Jaga found this ranking unnecessary when meeting Cheetara for the first time).

Slithe is the brutish leader of the Lizards who serves as a general of Mumm-Ra's Lizard Army.

Ruthless, cruel and selfish, this reptilian and his army are one of Mumm-Ra's strongest allies and a thorn in the side of the ThunderCats. Even though his ancestors were freed from Mumm-Ra's enslavement by the Cats Leo and Panthera, Slithe harbors a deep hatred for Claudus and all the other Cats for the years of persecution that his Lizard race have faced at their hands.Slithe is a ruthless creature, never thinking twice before attacking, and as such can be a dangerous opponent. Slithe is also armed with technology given to him by Mumm-Ra, making him a serious threat.Slithe's heavy build is not ideal for a warrior. Due to this, he is rather slow in combat and can easily be outdone by a faster and agile opponent.

Slithe is also a coward at heart, preferring to let his Lizards face the enemy while he remains behind in safety. He will also quickly flee at the first sign of defeat.Slithe is armed with an Axe Fitted Rifle which can shoot powerful laser beams and be used in close combat as a bayonet as well.

Lizards are one of the many animal species that inhabit Third Earth. They consist of many sub-species such as Chameleons, Horned Lizards, and other reptilian hybrids.

The true origins of these anthromorphic reptiles remain a mystery. Centuries ago, the Lizards were enslaved by Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living, an evil undead sorcerer who desired universal control. The Lizards, along with other animal species, did menial labor for Mumm-Ra while the Cats occupied high ranking positions, often serving as right-hand men to Mumm-Ra,

Grune is a former Thunderian who used to be captain of the Thunderian Army, alongside Panthro who was one of his closest friends.Grune is a highly skilled fighter. The many years that he spent serving in the Thunderian Army, first as a soldier and then as a captain, have provided him with ample experience in combat and warfare.Grune is armed with a giant mace that can shoot intense green energy beams.

One one occasion, Grune ripped out one of his saber-tooth and used it as a weapon against Spidera. Grune is a large Cat with brownish fur. He has a unique trait not seen often amongst other Thunderians, that being his large saber teeth.Grune was shown to be ambitious from an early age, telling Panthro that "Grunt-work wasn't what I had in mind when I enlisted". Though brave, skilled, and fearless on the battlefield, his desire for personal glory and his unwillingness to follow the rightful king ultimately prove to be his undoing. Grune betrayed Thundera because Mumm-Ra gave him the means of achieving his ambitions of total power, and because he had, in his paranoia, believed claudus had sent him and Panthro on a wild goose chase to be rid of a threat to his throne.

Addicus is one of the generals of Mumm-Ra's Lizard Army, recruited after a series of mass desertions of the Lizards brought on by their heavy defeat at the hands of the ThunderCats.Addicus is a very strong and agile fighter. He is very muscular and skilled in fighting, able to knock out an opponent with a single blow.Like most apes, Addicus has the added advantage of being able to use his feet as a second pair of hands in combat, thanks to opposable toes.Addicus wields a Double Headed Mace, which he can swing with great force to devastating effect.

Mumm-Ra is the main antagonist in the ThunderCats (2011) cartoon series and the mortal enemy of the ThunderCats themselves.Mumm-Ra is an absolute master of magic and sorcery and possesses an unlimited knowledge of them. As he embodiment of evil, and an undead being, Mumm-Ra is virtually indestructible and seemingly immortal. His mastery of dark magic grants him the ability to project bolts of dark energy, levitation, telekinesis, shape-shifting, mind control, astral projection, and scrying.His deadliest ability is to connect to his masters, the Ancient Spirits of Evil. Whenever he recites the famous incantation: “Ancient Spirits of Evil, transform this decayed form to Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living!”, Mumm-Ra draws from their power to transform himself into his infamous Ever-Living form. In this form, Mumm-Ra is bigger in size, more muscular, and able to grow wings for flight. Mumm-Ra also possess increased physical strength, resilience, and an increase in dark mystical power. Moreover, Mumm-Ra's Ever-Living form grants him skill in swordsmanship, allowing him to wield his Sword of Plun-Darr to deadly effect in battle.

What also adds to Mumm-Ra's abilities is that he is able to harness the energies of the Power Stones through his Gauntlet of Plun-Darr in order to bolster his power.As commented by Leo during their battle centuries ago, Mumm-Ra is "nothing more than a withered sack of bones". He is incredibly weak, unable to compete with most opponents physically immense power, which is why he mainly takes on his Ever-Living form for combat. However his power in the form comes at a price. He can only maintain his power for a short time, after which he must return to his sarcophagus to rest and rejuvenate. The more power he expends, the quicker he tires.

Mumm-Ra is also susceptible to bright sunlight and burns quickly in its presence.Apart from his own magical powers, Mumm-Ra wields the mighty Sword of Plun-Darr and the Gauntlet of Plun-Darr

WilyKit is one half of the wily twins and twin sister of WilyKat. The Candy Fruit-loving twins are the youngest members of the ThunderCats.Just like her brother, WilyKit is very cunning and resourceful. She is able to adapt to difficult situations and survive. She is also very quick and agile and her small size makes her a hard target for the enemyWilyKit owns the Flupe, a circular flute-like musical instrument that has the ability to mesmerize even the most hardened person. She often plays the lullaby that her mother used to sing to her and her brother to put people in a trance. Later, WilyKit learns the power of the Flupe when she matches harmonies with the trumpeting of the Elephants and the amplified sound is strong enough to shatter the Stone Giant.

Later she and her brother are given the Hoverboard by the Berbils, surfboard like vehicles which they use to travel. They also come into possession of the Forever Bag, a bag with an infinite amount of space.

Panthro is one of the older ThunderCats and a general in Thundera's army. He is a close friend of Claudus and one of his most trusted and loyalest soldiers. Panthro is a hardened warrior, having been in numerous battles, a fact attested by the numerous scars adorning his body.Panthro is a tough warrior. He is physically imposing and very strong, capable of taking on any adversary in hand to hand combat. Panthro is also a skilled fighter, a master of the martial arts and many forms of combat.Panthro's main weapon are the Nunchucks, which he is a master at using. Armed with them, he can quickly dispatch any opponent by delivering a bevy of powerful blows.

The two robotic arms that the Berbils fit Panthro with are extremely strong and durable. They also have the ability to extend in length, allowing Panthro to hit his opponent from a distance.

Cheetara is a female ThunderCat. She is a cleric, who serve as guards and advisers to the Royal Family. Cheetara is one of the youngest cleric.Cheetara is endowed with super speed. She can travel faster than any being on Third Earth. Having been trained as a Cleric by Jaga, Cheetara is a skilled combatant as well as powerful magician.Cheetara also has a very mature way of handling things. She is very grounded emotionally and able to respect and understand the feelings of others.Cheetara is armed with a long wooden Staff which is highly proficient in using. The staff has the ability to extend and decrease in length according to her wishes. After her staff is broken, she is given a new staff by Viragor, which is even more powerful than her old staff.

Tygra is the adopted son of Claudus and Queen and the older brother of Lion-O.Like all cats, Tygra has great agility and is a skilled fighter. He is proficient in both armed and unarmed combat and is a skilled swordsman. Tygra also possesses knowledge of military strategy and tactics, skills he learned from his adoptive father Claudus.Tygra's main weapon is the Bolo Whip which allows him to turn invisible, giving him an edge in combat. He also owns a Laser Pistol which he took from a Lizard soldier during their attack on Thundera.

Lion-O is the main protagonist in the ThunderCats (2011) cartoon series. He is the hereditary "Lord of the ThunderCats," a title that he inherited from his father and previous Lord of the ThunderCats, Claudus. Lion-O was chosen by the Sword of Omens to be the next king during the Ceremony of the Right of Passage.Like all cats, Lion-O has great agility and is a skilled fighter. He also has strong moral values and will never back away from helping anyone in need. He will try his best to ensure that no harm comes to any innocent being, no matter the sacrifice. Lion-O posses skill in swordsmanship with the Sword of Omens, able to face off against hordes the Lizards, the Duelist, Mumm-Ra's general's, and even Mumm-Ra himself in battle.Lion-O wields the legendary Sword of Omens, one of the most powerful weapons to exist on Third Earth. Lion-O also has in his possession, the Gauntlet of Omens, a claw shaped sheath for the Sword of Omens

On the planet known as Third Earth, the Cats have lived and thrived for generations in the kingdom of Thundera. The Cats are led by Claudus, with his son and heir Lion-O. One night the kingdom is attacked by the Lizard army led by the evil sorcerer Mumm-Ra. With them, the Lizards bring technology (a concept unfamiliar to the Cats). Because of this, Thundera is destroyed, Claudus is killed by Mumm-Ra, and the rest of the Cats are enslaved. A small band of surviving Thunderians led by Lion-O (who wields the powerful Sword of Omens) flee the destroyed city in order to seek out the Book of Omens which is said to have the knowledge needed to defeat Mumm-Ra. Once they find it, the ThunderCats realize that in order for them to defeat Mumm-Ra, they must unite all the different species living on Third Earth. The ThunderCats also discover that they have to find three stones of power which if found by Mumm-Ra will give him power to become the most powerful being in the universe.

The ThunderTank was a mass-produced siege tank used by the ancient ThunderCats when they served under Mumm-Ra. Panthro found one within Mumm-Ra's crashed pyramid and claimed it as his own. After rescuing the surviving ThunderCats, it became their primary mode of transportation and, later, the ThunderCats' mobile base. Unfortunately, the tank was later destroyed.
