The audience buzzed with anticipation for the new lecturer, but for Taehyung, the world froze the moment the door swung open. Standing in the doorway was Jungkook—Taehyung's ex, whom they had broken up with six months earlier by what they both thought was "mutual consent."

Taehyung felt the air in his lungs thicken like molasses. For the entire hour, he carefully averted his gaze, staring at his empty notebook while Jungkook's voice—deep, velvety, and eerily familiar—filled the space. When the lecture ended and the students began noisily filing out, Taehyung tried to slip out of the classroom unnoticed. He was almost touching the door handle, hoping to disappear into the crowd, when a low voice caught him, stopping him in his tracks.
