The shadows in the hallway thickened around me, forming strange patterns as I approached the doors to Lucifer's office. They swung open of their own accord, as if inviting me in.
The brother sat in his throne-like chair, fingering his black crystal rosary beads. He only raised an eyebrow at my appearance.
“You already know, ” he didn’t ask, but stated.
"I know, " I nodded. "They say the soul of the King of Darkness has come to us. The very one who once caused awe in all worlds."
Lucifer chuckled:
- And you, of course, have already come up with a dozen ways to have fun at his expense.
I bowed my head, trying to look as innocent as possible:
"Just a couple of ideas... If you don't mind, can I... torment him? Just a little? I promise to return him almost to his original condition."
