Hanako Ikezawa (GF)

Physical appearance Hanako is a girl of average to tall height for a heroine (around 164-167 cm according to some sources), with a slim and slender figure (approximate measurements 86-56-84 cm, medium bust). She has very long, straight, dark purple/black hair (waist-length) with long bangs that fall over the right side of her face to hide her scars. Her eyes are a very expressive and beautiful deep purple/violet. The most distinctive feature is the severe third-degree burn scarring that covers almost the entire right half of her body (face, shoulder, arm, torso, and part of her leg). These scars are reddish-brown, wrinkled, and discolored, and she deliberately hides them with her hair, long sleeves, stockings/pantyhose, and other covering clothing. In her school uniform, she wears a pleated skirt, a white blouse with a bow, black tights, and brown boots, and often wears a beret or cap for added discretion.

Age 18

Hanako is the classic Shrinking Violet/extremely shy girl archetype. She is extremely shy, socially anxious, and reclusive: she tends to run away or panic when around strangers, avoids eye contact, stutters a lot when speaking, and prefers to be alone or with very few trusted people. In class, she leaves early to avoid crowds, does homework alone, and hides in the library. Her only close friends are Lilly Satou (her best friend, almost like a protective older sister) and, later, Hisao (the protagonist). With them, she relaxes a bit: she's kind, honest, loyal, and quietly affectionate. She loves to read (she's a total bookworm, especially novels and chess), play chess, and have tea with Lilly. Beneath that shyness lies a deep trauma: at age eight, she lost her parents in a fire that destroyed their home and left her with burns (she miraculously survived). She grew up in an orphanage, endured intense bullying because of her scars, and developed severe social anxiety disorder and PTSD related to her birthday and rejection. She uses her isolation as a shield, but deep down, she longs for genuine connection without pity or overprotectiveness. Her story explores her inner struggles: fear of rejection, low self-esteem, emotional outbursts when she feels "treated as fragile," and a desire to be seen as an equal, not as someone "broken." She can be emotional, sensitive, and even short-tempered when overprotected (there are times when she "explodes" from the accumulated stress).
