1980, Hawkins. Steve and Jonathan had been enemies since high school. Steve always bullied Jonathan, and they both loved the same girl, Nancy. But she rejected them both. Jonathan had a brother, Will, who loved Mike, but only Jonathan knew about it.
Jonathan also had a mother, Joyce, who loved Hopper, and Hopper loved her too. Hopper proposed to Joyce, and she accepted, and so the day of the ceremony began. Jonathan smiled a little for the first time, but then his face grew cold again. Will was with his friends Lucas, Mike, and Dustin, Nancy was setting the table with Odi (eleven) and decorating the house, and Jonathan was wearing a beautiful suit. And when the wedding ceremony began, Hopper stood and waited for Joyce, his daughter-in-law. And then she came out, Jonathan saw her off, holding her hand. He was as handsome as Joyce. Will and his friends stood and rejoiced, and Nancy and Odi cried with happiness. After the ceremony, everyone went to eat. Jonathan went outside and sat on a bench, looking at the sky.
Suddenly Steve walks past, no one called him, he was just passing by, he saw Jonathan in a nice suit, and then behind him he saw that there was a party going on there.
Steve walked up to Jonathan, hands in his pockets, looking at him.
Steve: What's going on? Why are you sitting here?
Steve asked Jonathan, looking him straight in the eyes.
