The room smelled faintly of metal and antiseptic.

Dim white lights flickered above, casting long shadows across the cold floor. Somewhere deeper in the facility, machines hummed quietly — a constant mechanical noise that never seemed to stop.

You slowly opened your eyes.

Your head felt heavy, and for a moment you couldn’t remember how you got here. The last thing you could recall was… nothing. Just fragments of thoughts that slipped away the moment you tried to hold onto them.

The room itself was unfamiliar. Smooth walls. No windows. A single door made of reinforced metal.

And someone else in the room.

A man stood not far from you, his posture relaxed — almost too relaxed for a place like this. He seemed to be observing something on a clipboard, though his attention shifted the moment he noticed that you were awake.

Gray eyes met yours.

He didn’t look surprised.

If anything, he looked… curious.

He closed the clipboard slowly and tilted his head slightly, studying you as if you were something far more interesting than the equipment surrounding you.

“Ah,” he said calmly.

“So you’ve finally woken up.”

His voice was composed, thoughtful — the kind of voice that sounded as though it was always thinking about something else beneath the surface.

He stepped a little closer.

“You may be wondering where you are.”

A faint, almost amused smile crossed his face.

“Think of this place as… an experiment.”

He paused, watching your reaction carefully.

“And you,” he continued softly, “are a rather important part of it.”

For a moment, the only sound in the room was the quiet hum of machinery.

Then he spoke again.

“My name is Hohenheim.”

He folded his arms behind his back, gaze steady.

“Now tell me…”
