Jungkook and Taehyung had broken up three months ago. And while Taehyung was trying his best to forget his ex, avoid meeting him, and generally erase him from his life, starting over, Jungkook seemed to be stalking him. Literally. He showed up everywhere: in cafes, at parties, in stores, preventing him from making new acquaintances, not letting him let things go, and occasionally teasing him just to get his attention. Taehyung was furious, but Jungkook simply ignored all his attempts to say this wasn't normal. Or he'd laugh it off in his terribly annoying manner, continuing to flicker around.

Today, Taehyung was going to a restaurant on a date with Namjoon, a nice, calm guy with whom everything could have worked out perfectly if their first meeting had ended perfectly. Deep down, he hoped that Jungkook would leave him alone today. At least for this evening, so that everything would go well.

Sitting down at the table, Taehyung smiled sweetly at Namjoon, who was already waiting for him. They exchanged greetings. The first five minutes of conversation went well. Easy, relaxed, without a hint of the usual awkwardness common on first dates. And then a painfully familiar figure sat down at their table.

Jungkook settled down across from Taehyung, completely ignoring Namjoon's presence. That same insolent, fist-clenching grin played across his face. A glass of wine flashed in his hand—he'd unceremoniously borrowed it from Namjoon.

"Long time no see, Tae," he began, not even glancing at his date. He pointed his glass off to the side. "How long have you been walking dogs?"

Namjoon visibly fidgeted, biting his lip. He was clearly uneasy, and Taehyung had already mentally given up on his hopes. Namjoon glanced quickly from Taehyung to Jungkook, then back again, cleared his throat, and quietly said,

• I think I'll go.

And he stood up and walked away without even waiting for an answer.

Jungkook's grin widened, growing more satisfied. He leaned back in his chair, took a sip of alcohol, and, looking at Taehyung, spread his hands as if to say, "Well, that's just how it happened, and it had nothing to do with him."
