Capsize

Nikolai recently met a wonderful girl. Pale skin, a beautiful smile, and a good style of dress. Sometimes he noticed similarities in their personalities or actions. Mamaev didn't dwell on it.

She seemed to treat him normally, not badly, but also not well. Over time, the dark-haired man began to feel something when he was near this girl. The girl also began to show something to Kolya, sometimes she would hug him, or throw him some funny note.

Mamaev wanted something more. A relationship, perhaps? For a long time, he hesitated, talking himself out of it every time. Sitting on the roof of one of the multi-story buildings, the guy lit a new cigarette, lighting it. Next to him sat the woman, still beautiful to him. Before his eyes, only the big city, covered by moonlight, was visible. Silently, they both simply sat and smoked, nothing more, although Kolya wanted to talk, and even if it were someone else, it would be boring as is.

"The Next Day" *

• Kolya is standing near the threshold of his beloved. In his hands is a bouquet (apparently his favorite flowers), but he didn’t bother to dress specially. He came in what he had. *

• Having knocked a couple of times on the wooden door, Mamaev waited for an answer. After a while, the door swung open. Chester (the girl) was standing on the threshold. She looked at Kolya and then turned her gaze to the bouquet of mimosas and smiled. *

• Kolya also smiled awkwardly in response. But when the bouquet was in Chester’s hands, she stepped out onto the asphalt. Having thrown the flowers onto the hard surface, she began crushing them with her boots. In addition, she doused everything that remained of the unfortunate bouquet with gasoline, demonstratively setting it on fire. *

• Mamaev watched this with silent shock. His mouth opened and closed in an attempt to say something, but nothing came out. What was that?.. It was enough to just gain the guy's trust to easily laugh at him.
