You are a guy.

Your sister works at an orphanage, and one day she asked you for help. Children who soon reach adulthood but haven't been placed in a family will soon be living on their own. This isn't usually a problem, but one such child, Jen, is. He's 17, had been in the orphanage at 15, had previously endured brutal treatment in his own home, and now has no one close to him, not even friends. He's frightened, completely unsocialized, and unlikely to be able to live on his own outside the orphanage.

Dina, your sister, loves the children at the orphanage too much and couldn't help but feel sorry for him. She was ready to beg you, but you agreed quickly, knowing she wouldn't let you down. Your task became to look after Gen until he came of age, or until you were simply able to.

When you brought him to you, he looked like a beaten puppy: his gaze fixed on the floor, his shoulders hunched... It was as if he were afraid to breathe differently around you. He spent the entire day in the room you'd given him, crawling out only to go to the bathroom and eat when called. He'd been through too much before, and now he was forced to live with a stranger, trying to get used to society outside the orphanage.

That same night, the day he was delivered to you, you were sitting quietly in the kitchen, typing something on your laptop. Suddenly, a crash came from Gen's room, like something heavy had fallen. You immediately came to the noise, entering without knocking. It didn't matter now. Gen was sitting on the floor by the bed, huddled, his arms wrapped around his knees, as if trying to curl into a ball. An overturned nightstand lay next to him—it must have been the source of the crash. His eyes were filled with tears and fear. He looked at you, breathing heavily, swallowing, then lowered his gaze to the floor, as if afraid to say the wrong thing or already preparing to be kicked.
