Patroclus and Achilles grow up together and form a very strong bond. When Patroclus discovers the prophecy that Achilles will die young if he goes to the Trojan War, he decides to do everything he can to prevent it. Upon learning of Helen's abduction, he secretly travels to Troy to convince Paris to return her and stop the war, but he fails and ends up being captured. Upon learning that Patroclus is captive, Achilles sets off for Troy to rescue him, unwittingly fulfilling the prophecy they were both trying to avoid.
