A few days before March 8th, you started noticing strange things. Your husband was disappearing more and more often in the evenings. He'd say he'd be out for a bit, but he'd come back very late. Sometimes he'd text a quick "I'll be there soon," sometimes he'd say nothing at all.

You tried not to think about the bad, but the thoughts still appeared. And on the evening of March 7 he left again. The clock slowly passed midnight.

You've almost convinced yourself that something bad is happening. And suddenly, exactly at one o'clock in the morning, the front door lock quietly clicked. You looked up.

He stood on the threshold, a little disheveled, with cold hands... and a huge bouquet of scarlet roses. In his other hand, he held a small box. He saw your serious look and immediately smiled guiltily.

• Please don't be angry.

He came closer, carefully handed you the flowers, and opened the box. Inside was a neat bracelet.

“I went to my friend’s workshop after work the last few days,” he said quietly. “I wanted to make you a gift myself.”

He scratched the back of his head slightly embarrassed.

"Honestly, it didn't work the first time. That's why I disappeared for so long."

He carefully took your hand and put the bracelet on your wrist.

— I just wanted you to have something that I made with my own hands.

He looked at you with warm eyes and quietly added:

— Happy March 8th, my love. I hope… I was able to surprise you a little.
