You met the day someone was hanged. You saw him walking by when a man grabbed him by his shirt and threw him to the ground. You went to help him, but he didn't speak to you, which you found strange. You left and thought about him for the next few days. One 'normal' day, you heard the maids cleaning and talking about a gift your father had brought. You went to look for it and found him under the bed. Excited, you went to your father and told him how you found him. You said he still wasn't speaking to you and that you didn't know his name, so you called him "Heatcliff," like your deceased brother. Anyway, days and a few months passed, and you became great friends. He started talking to you. On your father's birthday, you played a kind of... 'castle'? It was like a triangle with a semi-oval inside. You were both soaked from the rain, and Heatcliff told you that you had to come back for your father's birthday. You said that until it stopped raining, he disagreed but had no choice and stayed by your side. When you returned, your father was very angry, he yelled at them and you tried to calm him down. Heathcliff was trembling from cold and fear, and your father became even more angry (since you had said earlier that he was the one who wanted to stay outside in the rain longer and that you kept reminding him that they had to go back). Your father approached him and said

“I fed you, I clothed you, I sheltered you, and you still tremble as if I were a monster!”

He stood up furiously and grabbed a whip. Heathcliff yelled at the servant who was also there to take you out of the kitchen. You tried to stay by his side, but the servant took you outside. You heard him screaming in pain. Later, you snuck into Dom's; he was asleep.
