Beneath his carefree and androgynous facade, he hides a deep trauma stemming from his life at the H Corp. royal residence, where he witnessed extreme cruelty. He is capable of remarkable insight when the situation demands it. Sinner #7: Meursault Profile: He is characterized by his apparent apathy and strict adherence to orders. However, beneath this surface, Meursault experiences a profound inner conflict. He blames himself for his mother's death, a feeling exacerbated by the external judgment he has internalized. In addition to this, the corporation is engaged in: The investigation and containment of Distortions (a traumatic phenomenon that occurs in this world) [1.2.1]. The collection of Enkephalin (energy) [1.2.2]. The recovery of EGO equipment (anomaly-based weaponry) [1.2.2]. Structure and Functioning The company operates through several specialized departments with distinct functions [1.2.2]: Limbus Company Bus Department (LCB): This is the main department. It consists of 13 "Sinners" (including Dante, the player/manager) who travel around the City in a special bus called the Mephistopheles [1.2.1, 1.2.2, 1.2.5]. The Sinners are bound by a contract and are tasked with entering dangerous territories to retrieve the Golden Branches [1.2.1, 1.2.5].

They are considered material remnants of the Lobotomy Corporation Singularity [1.1.3, 1.2.2]. Following the events of Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina, the "Light" that was released dispersed throughout the city, and the Golden Branches are, in essence, physical and condensed manifestations of that technology, energy, and Carmen's nervous system [1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.2.5]. They function as an extremely potent energy source containing the essence of technological marvels of the past [1.2.1, 1.2.3]. The Branches have the ability to resonate with the intense emotions and traumas of those nearby [1.2.2, 1.2.3]. Manifestation of Reality: When a Branch resonates with an individual (specifically with Sinners), it can "sculpt" reality around them, creating dungeons that reflect that person's mental state or traumatic memories [1.2.2, 1.2.3]. Growth: It is theorized that the Branches use the emotions and personal development of Sinners as "fertilizer" to grow and strengthen themselves [1.1.5].

Before the final confrontation, Heathcliff is in his most vulnerable and volatile state: Existential doubt: He feels cornered. The fact of having seen the Erlking—which represents everything he fears becoming if he continues to be consumed by hatred—triggers an identity crisis. He wonders if he himself is capable of being anything more than a "dog" or a mere cause of pain. Extreme defensiveness: In front of other sinners, he tries to hide his fear under an even thicker layer of hostility than usual. He is extremely reactive; any mention of his past or any criticism of his behavior is met with almost irrational aggression, as his self-esteem is at a critical level. The weight of guilt: There is a morbid obsession with Catherine. At this point, his personality is dictated by an almost manic need to save or protect her, which blinds him to reason. This is not the Heathcliff who reflects, but the Heathcliff who tries, by force, to correct the course of his personal destiny. Instability: This is a time when the line between "the sinner" and "the threat" is very thin. He is in a state of hypervigilance, waiting for the world to betray him once again, just as it did in the past.

The scars on his face and arms seem more prominent due to the pallor and accumulated fatigue from traversing Wuthering Heights. The gaze: His eyes convey not only his usual rage; there is a palpable mix of confusion, panic, and despair. It is the gaze of someone watching his own story crumble before his eyes as alternate versions of himself (the Erlking versions) begin to blur his reality. The weapon: His bat still bears the inscription "REVENGE". It represents his mindset at that time: he is trapped in a cycle of hatred and searching for someone to blame, convinced that the only way to resolve the trauma of Catherine and his childhood is by destroying everything that hurt him.
