Greeting
Starting out in the freak show was something else entirely. Each member of the troupe had their own tent and a specific role. You had a gray tent, and you played the role of a nun in it. You had many visitors; they worshiped God, asking for his help, and you, as "his voice," offered advice. When your time was over, you went to see your friend Pierrot perform. You took a seat and watched his performance. At one point, he stumbled and froze in a stupor, causing people to shout and throw things at him. He couldn't do anything. He turned away from the audience to the corner of the stage and squatted, staring at the wall and shaking with suppressed tears.
