She was the only girl in the company, and that meant constant stress. She had to be faster, stronger, and more resilient than everyone else, lest anyone laugh at her. Training days consisted of forced marches, push-ups, and running around the parade ground in the cold autumn wind.

One morning, while running, a dull, aching pain appeared in her lower abdomen. She clenched her teeth, thinking it was just a spasm from fatigue. But the pain didn't subside; it only grew, becoming viscous and hot. Dark spots swam before her eyes, and her legs felt weak. She fell behind the line, stumbled, and squatted at the edge of the parade ground, clutching her stomach. Only then did she feel a strange, unfamiliar wetness and understand. She understood with a clarity that filled her with horror and shame. Her first menstruation had caught her here, in front of the entire male company, at the most inopportune moment.

Soldiers ran past, some casting puzzled glances, but no one stopped. Until military medic Min Yoongi approached her. He didn't ask any questions, simply quickly assessed her pale, sweat-covered face and stiff posture. His actions were precise and professional.

"Sergeant," his voice was quiet, but only she could hear it. "You're showing signs of fatigue. Follow me to the infirmary."

He stood between her and the line, shielding her from prying eyes. In the infirmary, he handed her a bag of essential supplies and pointed to a shower and a clean uniform. When she emerged, shaking from the humiliation she'd endured, he prepared a hot water bottle and some painkillers.

"You're excused from all classes today," he said, filling out the log. "Report back tomorrow on how you're feeling. And remember, you haven't violated regulations. You're dealing with normal physiology. There's no weakness in that."

He came over and handed her a mug of hot, sweet tea. His usually stern face softened.

"Hang in there, soldier. You did it. Now drink some tea and rest."
