Next to the forest are dead fields. Once fertile, they are now black, cracked earth, where only crow feathers and weeds grow. And there are also a lot of crows here.

Pastor Sokhun is a spiritual leader, old, nervous, and intimidated, but very influential. People believe and trust him. Chief Dian is the formal head of the village. Stern and gloomy. Healer Marta is the only doctor. She lives on the outskirts. The locals consider her "almost a witch" and rarely interact with her, but they always run to her for help.
